Chapter 50: You Have Crossed The Line

In the North Blue, on Rubeck Island, the sky was dark and somber. The sound of gunfire echoed non-stop as guns roared through the town. Hundreds of figures engaged in a frenzied battle in the streets. Civilians screamed in terror, running for their lives with their hands over their heads, their cries unending.

Buildings were engulfed in flames from the artillery fire and collapsed. The flames soared, turning into giant fiery red wings that licked the underbelly of the sky.

"Damn Donquixote Family! Rubeck Island is the territory of our Phils family!" "You've crossed the line!"

A man donning a newsboy cap, a black overcoat, and a suit slashed the throat of a pirate who charged at him and roared in fury. His face was splattered with the pirate's blood, his white shirt stained red, and his bloodshot eyes glared at the blond child not far away.

The boy appeared to be around eleven or twelve years old, standing at just about 1.4 meters tall, with short blond hair, sunglasses, a white shirt, and cropped pants. Though obviously young, he had a crazy and cruel smile that would strike fear even in the leader of a gangster family.

Don Quixote Doflamingo.

This kid, with his viciousness, cold-blooded cruelty, and formidable strength, had taken his Donquixote Family to stir up trouble upon arriving in the North Blue. They had brutally eliminated the renowned mafia families on several nearby islands, seized their lands, recruited troops, and their power expanded wildly at a shocking pace.

When Doflamingo heard what Phils had declared, he laughed as if he'd heard the funniest joke, clutching his stomach and bending backward. The Donquixote Family cadres beside him couldn't help but join in the laughter.

Slimy Trebol was there with a cane in hand and two lines of snot dangling from his nose. Pika stood like a towering iron structure, his body rippling with muscles. Diamanti, donning attire akin to a native Indian and with vibrant paint on his face, and Virgo, with a piece of steak still on his face, bore a dull expression.

"Crossing the line?" Doflamingo said with a confident, exaggerated grin. "No, no, I haven't crossed the line."

Firth watched his family members wail and fall, his anxiety mounting. The Donquixote Family had been recruiting and their armed forces far surpassed the Phils Family in personal strength and weaponry. If this continued, the Phils would be annihilated in less than ten minutes.

Clenching his bloodied knife, he ground his teeth and said, "Gang forces maintain a clear division of territories. We ensure stability by respecting boundaries... That's the rule of the North Blue!"

Doflamingo grinned wide. "No, you still don't understand me. The so-called rules are merely constraints defined by the strong to control the weak: cages for the incompetent, for the mediocre, for waste and trash. I haven't crossed the line," he said, licking the corners of his parched lips, throwing his arms wide, lifting his head, and laughing maliciously. "Because... the entire North Blue belongs to me! The rules of this world mean nothing to me, Doflamingo!"

As his laughter thundered, hundreds of Donquixote Family members also cackled viciously. Armed with spears, cannons, tomahawks, and long knives, they charged into the ranks of the Phils family like a pack of ravenous beasts.

Swords clashed and blood spattered in an instant. A deep blood-red color slowly bloomed on the originally bustling streets. "You're looking for death!" Phils shouted angrily, eyes ablaze. He stamped on the ground, shattering it, and crossed more than ten meters at an extremely fast speed. In the blink of an eye, he was before the arrogant blond kid, Doflamingo.

Grasping his blood-stained sword with both hands, he swung it fiercely toward Doflamingo's face. The force was so strong that the air itself seemed to ripple. Killing intent flashed in Phils' eyes, predicting the imminent splitting of the blond kid's head under his blade.

But when the long knife was about to strike, Phils' pupils shrank. He saw a sneer on the faces of Doflamingo and his subordinates, all wearing smug smiles as if they were toying with him.

Bang! A bright spark erupted in front of his eyes. Phils's bloodshot eyes widened in disbelief. His sword had halted three centimeters from Doflamingo's forehead, unable to move further as if blocked by an invisible force. A sharp, grating noise resonated, like clashing swords.

"How can this be..." Phils' voice was hoarse, his throat dry. The smirk on the blond kid's face made his heart race with dread.

"Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa... How vexing..." Doflamingo laughed wickedly, his fingers wriggling.

Phils felt a sharp pain as if his chest had been slashed open by an unseen blade, spewing out blood. Hot blood sprayed from the deep wound on his chest onto Doflamingo's face, giving the young man a demonic appearance.

Phils' face grew pale, and he slowly collapsed to the ground. Blood pooled beneath him, forming a gruesome sight.

"You've... crossed the line... Darren... The Marines... won't... let... you go..."

The sunlight was dim, obscured by a twisted visage. Phils could only perceive dark, bloody, twisted shadows before his fading eyes.

"Marines?" Doflamingo looked down at the mafia family leader of Lubek Island with a sneer. "I'm really looking forward to it."

With that, Doflamingo raised his foot and brought it down hard onto Phils' head.

Boom! There was a dull thud, and Phils' head burst open like a smashed watermelon, red and white splattering in a gruesome mix.
