160 Inviting Shiki to Join the Marines

Chapter 160: Inviting Shiki to Join the Marines

"Katz, take the wounded to receive treatment."

Solo glanced at the general situation. Even the unsacrificed marines suffered varying degrees of injuries. If they were allowed to stay, their lives would be in danger. Facing pirates like Shiki, with the combat power of these marines, they can't be of help at all.

"Yes, Ensign Solo."

Katz responded, waved one hand, and signalled the marines behind him to act as Solo said. Katz, along with Perona and Robin, stood resolutely behind Solo to face the legendary man named Shiki the Golden Lion together.

But no matter how one says it, Katz is just an officer. He has neither learned the Rokushiki nor eaten a Devil Fruit. His swordsmanship is also mediocre. It is obviously impossible to say that he is not nervous or afraid at all. Even Katz could clearly feel that his heartbeat was accelerating "lup-dup, lup-dup". But even so, he didn't back down.

"With Ensign Solo's swordsmanship growing too fast..."

Katz couldn't help thinking to himself. He never imagined that a few months ago, Solo, whose sword skills were not as good as Tashigi's, would improve so quickly like he's a different person.

"The training of the Marine Headquarters is too exaggerated."

But even so, Katz still needed to find out whether Solo could repel Shiki.

"Shiki the Golden Lion, a legendary great pirate, a strong man of the same era as Roger and Whitebeard."

Perona raised her umbrella and looked up and down at Shiki. Just the powerful aura emanating from him made Perona feel oppressed. If it wasn't for Solo standing beside her, she would have fainted from fright.

"Solo."

Robin stared at Solo, feeling uneasy. Once they fight, it is not only the outcome but also life and death. Just thinking about it made Robin feel extremely nervous.

"I used to face the existence of the entire Marine Headquarters with my strength."

Although Shiki has disappeared into the sea for many years, his body shows no signs of ageing, especially the power of the sword energy he just used. If it was changed to another marine, maybe his legs would already be weak at this time.

"Solo, it's up to you."

Robin took a deep breath and put all his hopes on Solo.

At this time, Shiki also realised that the boy before him was the Second Lieutenant Solo that those navy men were talking about just now.

"You are Solo? No wonder, those marines pinned their hopes on you and persisted until they die." Shiki said, but he still didn't regard Solo as his enemy.

The move that was used to block his attack was really beautiful, but he didn't take it seriously. As far as the strength of an Ensign of the marine is concerned, Solo is indeed a very strong existence. If it is divided according to the strength of the previous era, his sword energy just now was at least at the level of a Rear Admiral.

He didn't know why Solo joined the marine and didn't get promoted. Did the current marine strength undergo earth-shaking growth?

"Looking at his age, he should be the first type," Shiki thought to himself. If it was the second type, then the years when he disappeared would be too terrifying.

"The pirates of the last era should retire." Solo confronted each other, not losing ground.

"Interesting." Seeing this, Shiki couldn't help smiling again.

"You are still young; if you are given some more time, maybe you can continue to grow. It would be a pity to die in Loguetown like this. If you are willing to join me, I can spare your life."

Shiki immediately extended his arms and extended an invitation to Solo. According to his plan, it won't take long before the Marines would be a thing of the past. Solo might as well abandon the dark and turn to the bright and become his right-hand man. With his guidance, his swordsmanship can be improved to a higher level.

"The right-hand man of Shiki the Golden Lion, this title is suitable for you!"

Facing the invitation of Shiki, Solo remained unmoved. If he really wanted to be a pirate, he wouldn't have stayed in Loguetown for nine years. Talking about pirates being free, once he becomes a pirate, Shichibukai, the Marine, and even other pirate groups will become his enemies.

As long as he spend a day at sea, he will be caught in endless battles; there is no relief at all. Although Solo didn't know why others liked fighting so much, he hated it to the extreme.

"Pirates are the ones who really have no future, Shiki. Look at the pirates of the previous era, Roger the Pirate King. Didn't he die in this small town? Whitebeard? Hiding In the New World, recruiting a group of pirates to play as his children. Only the Marines are the most powerful force in this sea."

Solo paused for a moment, "If you want to join the Marines, I can directly appoint you as Captain. Besides, Loguetown is under the jurisdiction of the headquarters. In other words, as long as you join the Marines, you will directly become the overseer of Loguetown."

The audience was in an uproar as soon as these words came out. Katz, Perona, Robin, and hundreds of marines all stood there dumbfounded. They never dreamed that Solo would be able to say such outrageous words. He actually directly invited Shiki to join the Marines.

This guy must be joking!

The corner of Perona's mouth twitched unnaturally, and she couldn't help but recall that Solo fooled her into joining the Marines.

'But Shiki is not me, a person like joining the Marine?'

Even Shiki's whole face was black, and he seriously doubted whether he had heard something wrong. The young marine in front of him actually claimed that he should be the head of this small town.

"Kid, how do you wish to die?"

There was a cold light in Shiki's eyes.
