Honeymoon Phase

"Damn, stay away from me!"

Roulan pushes Yanmei away as she grabs their luggage from the carrier, putting it down on the ground.

Lanying shakes her head as she clings onto Yanmei, dragging the girl away from Roulan.

"Let's go to that cafe."

"Wait, baby!"

Roulan waved them off, waiting for two more suitcases. Her head looked at her back, tracking where Lanying had pulled her wife away.

"What would you want to order?"

Lanying asks, her eyes scanning the menu on the screen above, as Yanmei rolls her eyes at the girl.

"Can we just go back?"

"Come on, my treat."

"Nonsense, I'll leave now."

Yanmei rolled her eyes again, crossing her arms over her chest as she started to walk away from Lanying. The woman only looks at her figure but smirks and opens her mouth to speak.

"Aren't you and Peizhi about to be married? If I'm not mistaken, there's this unspoken promise between the two of you."

Yanmei looks at her back, glaring at Lanying before walking towards the latte and sneering.

"What do you know?"

Lanying smiled at her and looked at the cashier, ordering the drinks she ordered for the couple. She pulls her card out of her wallet to pay for it, not minding Yanmei's glaring eyes.

"Yi Lanying, I can make you disappear in this world in a snap."

"I know."

Lanying smiles at the cashier; her eyes finally meet Yanmei's before she smiles widely again as if mocking the older woman.

Yanmei huffed a sigh of annoyance, not liking Lanying's attitude towards her.

"You two, your luggage is here."

Yanmei looks at her back, seeing Roulan pulling four suitcases towards them. She glances at Lanying before running towards Roulan and grabbing her two bags.

"Let me hel-"

"I can manage."

Roulan said and smiled at her, pushing and pulling the suitcases towards the cafe as Lanying waved and smiled widely at her.

"Sorry for leaving you earlier; Lanying pulled me so hard."

Yanmei spoke beside Roulan. The taller woman looks at her and shakes her head, her eyes disappearing as she smiles.

"At least you can get close with Lanying; she's a great person, though."

"I don't like her."

Yanmei scoffs and crosses her arms over her chest, causing Roulan to chuckle and shake her head.

"I'm sure after this trip you two will get close."

'Yeah, close enemies.'

Yanmei thought, looking at Lanying, who seemed to be a sultry friend of yours yet, a bit innocent but hiding a dark secret.

-

Roulan sighs in relief, her back hitting the mattress as she lets Yanmei put their suitcases in the corner.

"I don't understand why - Hey! What are you doing!?"

Roulan's words got cut off when Yanmei jumped on the bed and walked on top of her as she wrapped her arms around the taller woman's neck.

"We can do the things-"

"No! Not!"

Roulan yelled, her hand pushing the woman away from her body. Yanmei pouts but stands up as Roulan grabs her phone from her pocket, hearing its constant ringing.

Her eyes widen upon seeing Huiqing's contact name, remembering that it has been a few days since they left their town.

"Shit."

"What?"

"Huiqing's calling me."

Yanmei rolled her eyes, her knees standing on the bed as she grabbed Roulan's phone, her hand on the younger woman's chin as she leaned her face towards her.

"Tell her to stop because you already have a wife."

"What? No! I only married you because you forced me!"

Roulan said, grabbing the phone back from Yanmei's hand and standing up from the bed.

"My life is my choice, so fuck off."

Roulan glares at her, walking towards the balcony as she decides to answer Huiqing's call. Yanmei couldn't help but sigh and shake her head, her back hitting the mattress as she looked at the ceiling.

"That girl is bad news; can't they feel it?"

She couldn't help but ask a question. Her eyebrows furrow, and she feels her phone vibrate in her pocket, causing her to rise and grab it.

"Get out and let's talk; I know you're dying to know why I knew it."

The unknown number texted. Yanmei scoffed and was about to put it back in her pocket when the sender texted her again.

"I can imagine you scoffing and ignoring it, but don't be; it's Lanying."

Roulan smiles at the last words Huiqing told her, and she opens the balcony door to go in again. She sighs but hears the door shut, causing her to look around the room and see no one.

"Where would she even go? Did I upset her that much?"

Yanmei taps her feet on the elevator floor, waiting for it to reach the ground floor, as she's dying to kill Lanying.

The elevator dings, and it opens, causing her to flee as soon as she can fit her body and run to the lounge, seeing the woman she intended to see calmly reading one of the magazines lying around.

"What is it?"

Lanying looks up from the magazine she's looking at and smiles at Yanmei before she stands up and opens her arms.

"My dear friend-"

"I don't have time for this game of yours, so reveal what you need."

Lanying chuckled and nodded her head, her eyes looking at her watch, before she hummed and looked outside the hotel they were in.

"Would you like to have a coffee? I'm sure Roulan can handle herself."

Lanying grabbed Yanmei's wrist and dragged the woman, causing the older woman to roll her eyes at her action.

"Why would you need to ask me if you'd force me to come with you?"

"You'll disagree, so."

Lanying shrugs her shoulder, opening the door before they go towards the corner of the store and push Yanmei towards the opposite side.

"Peizhi's father is one of my parents' friends."

"Whenever his father asked him to handle their business here in Abrington, he would always be in our house."

Yanmei nodded her head, her hand crossing on her chest as she leaned on the backrest.

Lanying looks at her, her eyes turning severe as she stands up and looks down at Yanmei.

"If he keeps telling me that he's going to marry you, why would you marry Roulan?"

"First of all, I don't like Peizhi."

"Second, can you sit down?"

Lanying sat down, as Yanmei requested. The older woman sighs and nods her head, her hand going onto her face as she rubs it a little.

"Third, I like Roulan; is that enough?"

Yanmei's eyes opened wide, her pupils looking at Lanying before she scoffs and stands on her chair.

"Why would you even ask me that!? Do you want me to break up with Roulan so I can be with that jerk because he's your friend!?"

"Excuse me? I don't like Roulan, and that's disgusting; I'm not acquainted with Peizhi."

"Then, why do you sound like it?"

Lanying chuckles and shakes her head, standing up on her chair as she puts her hands on Yanmei's shoulder, forcing the latter to sit down on the chair.

"I just sound like it; I'll tell you everything, okay? Would you like anything?"

Yanmei sighs and nods, her back leaning on the chair as she hums and shakes her head.

"I'm good with whatever you order."

"Okay, let me also chat with Roulan since I'll only tell you the summarized version of all things."

Here's an update!! I finally figured something so expect daily updates, I guess? Still not sure.
