Chapter 14 The Kiss
(The kiss)
Author's POV
Abby woke up to her ringing phone, she stretched out her hand and picked up the phone.
"Hello?" Abby called in my drowsy voice
"You're not awake yet?" She recognized this voice, no doubt it's her.. *shit!* she forgot
"I'm sorry sir, I'll just hurry up, I.I'm going to take my bath, just wait.." She said as she hurried to the bathroom, he hung up and she angrily punched her pillow startling Jane
"Hey, what's up with you?" Jane asked annoyed
"He'll think I'm not a serious person, he asked me to get ready today." Abby stated as Jane frowned and realization dawned on her.
"Oh my goodness, Abby, what the heck is wrong with you? We need to hurry up now." Jane said as she pushed Abby to the bathroom. Soon Abby was done as Jane selected a short jean gown and a jean platform shoe.
"What, no way I'm gonna wear.." Abby wanted to protest but Jane gave no room for that as she threw the clothes at Abby. She sighed and without a word she wore the clothes, they fitted her, perfectly, hugging her body and a bit short.
"Uh.. Jane?" Abby called but Jane immediately pushed her to the makeup table and started making her up, Abby frowned
"Why must I look attractive Jane, it's just a meeting, I don't wanna give him something to think about." Abby expressed making Jane widen her eyes at her friend's speech
"Abby, what are you really? Damien Blacks of all people is after you and you just wanna push him away? Come on girl, don't tell me you're this crazy?" Jane complained adding a finishing to the make up, then smiled at Abby
"Ta-da.." She exclaimed, Abby was surprised at how changed she looked now.
"What on earth did you do to me?" She asked Jane who chuckled replacing the makeup items in the kit.Abby continued starring at herself, she looked fabulous, Jane then wore her a blue headband matching her shoes, she carried a black handbag then wore a black diamond necklace with matching earrings. Last but not the least, her favorite wristwatch. She took some pictures,they looked great. In less 5 minutes, the honking of a car was heard, Jane squealed like a child amusing Abby, she accompanied Abby to the gate and was flabbergasted meeting The Almighty Damien Blacks for real, she turned to Abby
"This is a moment I'll never forget! Thank you Abby, Thank you!" She exclaimed as Abby sighed
"What's so important about him apart from his looks?" She whispered to Jane who gasped in anger, surely her friend is having some brain problem or something
"You better make this work, young Lady." She warned Abby as they approached Damien Blacks
"Hello sir, I've been looking forward to seeing you, can't believe I'm seeing you for real!" Jane blurted in excitement as she blushed. Damien smiled at her, then his eyes moved to Abby, she was looking so tempting and alluring that he can't seem to take his eyes off her, Jane followed his gaze and decided to seize this opportunity
"This is my bestie, I bet you she's a great woman, it's only a lucky man that would be able to claim her, I love her so much that I will go to any extent for her sake, she's a rare gem.." Jane elaborated
"Oh shut up Jane," Abby rolled her eyes at Jane making Damien smirk
"We could get along in the future." He said to Jane who felt like she was in cloud 9, his voice so warm and handsome, he walked over to Abby, she was shy like hell.
"Can we go now?" He asked in a low tone and she nodded approvingly.
They both walked to the white Rolls Royce sweptail car, she glanced at Jane who gave her a thumbs up and she threw a frown at her.
"You look glamorous today." Damien revealed, he can't help it, her scent, beauty and shape. Everything is just getting at him *fuck* he can't stand it
"Thanks." She replied his remark with a blush, he smiled at how cute she looked
"Do you have a boyfriend?" He asked though he hate to, he just wanted to know. Abby frowned on hearing his question, for some reason, she didn't want him to know about Henry and her relationship. She nodded, besides, it's in the past right? We should live in the present now.
"Had." She replied him and he frowned
"What happened? You left him?" Damien couldn't help but ask, he felt like someone was competing with him over his property.
"He.. He told me that I was not good enough for him and he fell in love with someone else." Abby thought she was over it, but the pain was still there, a tear slid down her cheeks as Damien wiped it with his thumb and her breath hitched
"T.. Thanks," she stuttered
"It's fine." He brushed her hair with his fingers
"Still love him?" Damien asked in a husky, vexed tone, his eyes still on hers to read her emotions. She looked pissed off and irritated which satisfies him, his eyes moved to her sexy lips
"No.. He cheated on me, after 3 years, I think I hate him now." Abby realized, she smiled at the realization, she's over him now. Damien let out a deep breath he never knew he was holding as he claimed her lips, she reciprocated the kiss.
Abby felt strange. There's something pulling her to him, something strong, something unexplainable, she's never felt this way kissing Henry before, there were sparks in the kiss an unexplainable bond. Could it be that it's the effect of their intimacy that night? She thought enjoying every bit of the kiss, he's an experienced and great kisser. Soon he broke off the kiss as she caught her breath. Then something clicked her mind, why did he kiss her? She turned towards the driver, he was smiling and embarrassment made her blush hard
"Hey, it's just a kiss." He said
"Why did you kiss me?" She asked in a low tone.
