　　Lucie couldn't be bothered with Carolina today. Her gaze fell directly on Hawthorne, who hadn't said a word since she entered the room. "Dad, let's talk."

　　Hawthorne remained calm and nonchalantly responded, "Go ahead. Tell me what you want from me?"

　　Afraid that Carolina would interfere, Lucie wanted to talk to Hawthorne alone. "I want to talk to you privately."

　　Carolina immediately sneered, "What? Is there something we can't hear? Dad, don't listen to her nonsense."

　　Hawthorne clearly agreed with Carolina. He frowned and impatiently said, "We can talk here. We're family, why hide anything?"
