That Was Very Sweet Of Him

Daniela Rivera had been struggling ever since she came to New York. She missed Puerto Rico at times but there had been nothing to stay for. Her family was dead so she had nothing keeping her there when her best friend moved. 

Lorena's family was gone too aside from her older brother, Hilario, who had come here a few years before. When her parents died from the same illness as Daniela's family that swept through their town, he sent for her as soon as he found out. So she was now staying with both of them and Hilario's wife Nina. 

She was a seamstress and had Lorena and Daniela working with her since neither of them knew much English and couldn't go out and get a job anywhere else. It was the least she could do to try and contribute to the Morales household. 

Daniela hated feeling useless. She had felt useless a lot since moving here.
