266 That Strange Feeling

Adam had noticed that strange feeling several other times in the first few weeks of Callie working for him. Sometimes it was in response to things she said or did, sometimes it was because of Carter. 

He told himself it was stupid. They were here because he was paying her. They weren't his friends, even if they did prevent him from having to eat all of his meals alone. 

He used to be the social type. He wouldn't say he went out with his friends every night but it happened at least a few times a week. Look at him now. He had been cooped up in his apartment for months working his way through Netflix's recommended list because no one wanted to see him and his hideous face. 

Callie didn't really talk to him unless it was related to her work but Carter had no such reservations. He talked about anything and everything whenever Adam saw him.
