417 She's Just Like You

Preston really wished that Sam or someone like him could have actually been his dad. Things would have been so different for him. 

But the only way that could happen at this point was if he married Luz. Then Sam would be his father-in-law. That was a weird thought since they were still teenagers but not an unpleasant one. 

He had already been kind of planning his future around her. Wasn't planning a future together what married people did? The kind that actually love each other anyway. He wasn't sure his father had ever truly loved his mom in hindsight. 

Marriage was just staying together forever with the person you loved most, wasn't it? Preston had never really thought about it happening for him before but he couldn't deny that the thought appealed to him when he put it that way. Forever with Luz would be a beautiful thing. 

Which was crazy to think about. He was eighteen.
