262 Right In The Nick Of Time

Stepping foot inside the storage unit was strange. Joy hadn't seen any of this stuff since she originally put it in here. She had been a completely different person when she last used this furniture. A normal, happy wife and mother.

There were the marker stains Rachel left on the table. And the scuff on the leather couch from when Paul accidentally scratched it against the metal part of the door when they moved into their first apartment together. It was painful, yet somehow not much more so than having their pictures up in her room.

They were just more reminders that her family had lived and loved. She would deal with it. It wasn't like they could afford new furniture.

Admittedly, it would be strange living in an apartment with her family's things in it when they were long gone. Most of this would be coming with them. Pretty much the only things that weren't had originally been in Rachel's room.
