365 Perfunctory At Best

"Is that so?" Laney asked faintly. 

Lissy nodded. "Yeah. I'm actually glad you married him instead of Greg. He's more dependable and spends time with us now that he's not busy. Greg's lame. He hasn't even come to see Karina."

"He came in the hospital."

"Yeah but he hasn't come since. Even Olivia's done that. He's a bad friend and we don't need him because we have Richard."

Oh boy! Had she really switched her attachment so easily?! 

Laney supposed she had been spending an awful lot of time with Richard lately. He had been spoiling her with gifts and helping her with her homework, which was more than Greg did because being someone's brother-in-law was a lot different than being their sister's best friend. 

Greg had played with Lissy whenever he was over at the apartment but that hadn't happened consistently in years. The person playing with her now was Richard, even if he didn't really know what he was doing.
