We can't be in love - 1

Dressed and ready to go, Fahsai pondered if she should call her Big Sis and share the swoony news. But she noticed a video sent to her by an unknown number. As she played the video, she saw Tian Kong holding her mom hostage. He threatened to kill her parents if she didn't bring him the black book, because he knew she was with Daniel.

"I'll return for your parents if you can't accomplish your task. And if you care so much for your breath, no word to Daniel!!" Tian Kong warned.

Fahsai immediately called her Dad and learnt that her mom was safe.

"What's wrong my child?" Her mother asked.

"Nothing mom, I just had a nightmare and I wanted to hear your voice."

"Hurry and cone back home." Her mother urged her and as she hanged up, her mother too had a bad feeling since things were not adding up, such as how she woke up in front of the TV. She investigated the door and all was fine. She also spotted Chernming at the front gate and he obviously wanted to see Fahsai.

On the other hand, Fahsai was quite jumpy.

"How do you like the eggs?" Daniel asked her and she jumped out of fright.

"After breakfast, I have one more place I'd like to take you." He added and the latter just nodded.

It was Botan's grave. Daniel tidied the grave.

"I brought Fahsai to see you." Daniel told the late Botan.

"Did she live here?" Fahsai asked.

"I made memories with Botan right here. This was her favorite spot. We talked about me quitting the mafia life and spend the rest of my life with her, at this very spot....it's a tranquil area where the green grass grow and trees flourish."

Fahsai noted, "You both must have loved each other dearly."

"We do," Daniel said.

"Then why did you - she started to ask and he finished the sentence for her, "killed Botan?"

FLASHBACK

Daniel wanted to have a private word with Botan after he found out that she had been the one to leak the information to their enemy.

They embraced each other the moment he walked in her room. Botan cried and apologized. He held her at arm's length with tears in his eyes, "Botan, I don't need apologies. I need to know why you did it. Did someone force you to do it? Tell me and I will go kill him!"

"No one ordered me to do it." Botan said and could only cry. "I did it on my own accord, they paid me well to do it too. If I have a lot of money, I can leave this forsaken place. I'm fed up."

Daniel's eyes swam with tears and he asked, "You don't love me anymore?"

"I love you but I don't want to be like your Mom, the lady Boss of Mungkorn Thong who has everything, and love is seen as a weakness for you people. I'm not strong like your mom."

"Why didn't you approach me straightforwardly, but instead commit what is considered as treason for the gang?" Daniel shook her gently and questioned her.

"I'm willing to accept the punishment." She relented.

''I can't let you die." He immediately thought of a plan to trick his gang. "You should wear the bullet proof vest and fall into the water, and Chern Piu will wait for you by the water, he will take you to the place you want to go."

"I promise not to bother you again. You'll be dead to everyone including me." His voice quivered as he pulled her in for the last bear hug and both cried in pain.

But what happened instead, blood seeped through her chest as Botan fell into the water, dead.

IN THE PRESENT TIME

Fahsai said, "She didn't wear the bullet proof vest."

"She left me a note in which she begged me not to blame myself. She didn't want me to be responsible for her mistakes. She also asked me that no matter what happened, she wanted me to prevail over my enemies by forgiving them." Daniel was devastated and the uncontrollable tears fell, his shoulders shook. He had mourned her alone in his room.

Daniel questioned, "Is this really someone who says she's not strong?"
