Ascending The Tower

Before this begins, I must apologise for late updates now. School is seriously taking a toll on me and my free time. Doesn't exactly help with the number of assignments I am needing to complete as well as future exams that I'll need to study for.

Anyway, hope you enjoy!

"Quickly now, his match is about to start!"

"W-Warrod, slow down!"

Lux had called out to the eldest male as they were now rushing down the stairs before quickly taking a seat in one of the more empty sections of the spectator seats. The reason for their rush was because of the fact that Hyuto was currently having his match, and it seemed that it was about to get underway any second.

They were all watching as Hyuto had just stepped into the ring, alongside with his opponent which appeared to be a large man with quite a lot of muscle on his body. The muscles were bulging and were easily bigger than Hyuto's head. Hyuto didn't appear at all intimidated though as he stood calmly on his side of the field.

It had been two hours since they had managed to sign up, and Hyuto, along with the others, had already signed up for their matches.

"Did those two kids make it through?" Willa asked curiously as she was referring to Gon and Killua, who they had met in the line when they first got here. The two didn't appear powerful, though they all had a feeling they were more than meets the eye. The one who responded to her question was Warrod, who pointed up towards the screens.

"Yeah. Quite easily."

They looked at the screens to show the image of both Gon and Killua, who had already won their matches and had been moved all the way up to the fiftieth floor after their first match. They had all witnessed the two defeat their opponents in an instant with a single attack each.

'I'm not feeling anything abnormal from this guy. Better hold back...' Hyuto frowned as he looked at the bigger male in front of him, who was giving him a mocking grin this entire time. He was certain that if he used too much power, then it was a certain ticket for this guy to the afterlife. "Ref, killing isn't permitted at all, correct?"

"That is correct. Only on the two-hundredth floor is that allowed."

"Understood."

"Oh~, already thinking I'm going to kill you, kid?" His opponent laughed with a ridiculous-sounding laugh that honestly sounded like a pig snorting, and not a clean snort either, he was choking on something. "Don't worry your little head off, I won't hurt you too badly now!"

"Can we start the match please...?"

"Yes, of course." The referee nodded his head, Hyuto could see that even the ref was really getting irritated listening to his opponent's boasting and arrogance. The referee then lifted his hand up before bringing it down and shouting. "Begin!"

"Haha-!"

The man didn't get to finish his laugh that was obviously going to start off his sentence before he suddenly felt an unimaginably powerful force strike his stomach. The source being none other than Hyuto, who had appeared in front of him in an instant before having delivered a devastating sidekick. The kick soon taking full effect.

Hyuto's opponent was sent flying across not just the stage, but the entire building. The kick had sent him flying before having impacted with the steel beams supporting the roof, and they luckily didn't break, though they did bend greatly, as the man then fell violently onto the ground, making a loud crashing sound.

Everyone in the entire room, aside from his friends, showed extreme amounts of shock. Aya, Warrod and Lux did express their surprise, though not nearly as much as every other spectator and fighter within the place. Hyuto just blinked for a second as he processed what he had just done as he gave a big frown.

"W-We need the stretcher here, severe damage to the ribs, numerous broken bones and more have been sustained!" One of the staff had shouted as they had gone over to check on the man. The person was unconscious as the medical people were examining him.

'Really? Even at this amount of suppressed power... how disappointing.' Hyuto frowned heavily as he had lowered his leg back to the ground. He had suppressed his power a great deal, truth being he wasn't utilising anywhere near his full power, not even the power when he casually went to school. Yet... it seemed that even that was far too much. 'I guess I don't need to worry about Lux and Aya as much as I thought...'

"Number 2048, you may proceed immediately up to the eightieth floor." The referee had snapped out his astonishment before quickly having tapped on the device in his hands. Which a receipt was soon printed out that he handed towards Hyuto, who nodded his head in thanks. Hyuto then silently walked off the arena and proceeded to walk through the tunnel.

He needed to be more careful.

If he put any more power into the hit, then he was certain that guy would have become a lifeless corpse. Not like he would have cared honestly....

Though, he needed to prioritise the quest.

"Hyuto!"

"Hm?" Hyuto turned around to see who had called out his name, though he could already tell who it was from the voice alone. When he turned around, he saw both Gon and Killua running on over towards him, with Gon waving his arm at him with a big smile on his face. "Oh, nice to see you again. Nice work with your matches, looked pretty easy for you. Impressive."

"Same can be said for you." Killua scoffed. "That kick of yours really did some damage..."

"Yeah! You must be really strong, Hyuto!" Gon grinned as he shouted this. Hyuto smiled in amusement as he saw their different conflicting personalities, Gon was more outgoing and happy while Killua appeared to be more calm and silent out of the two. Probably a lot brighter in logic too. "They even got you up to the eightieth floor after just one match."

"Meh, it's no big deal." Hyuto shrugged. "Anyway, I better get back to the others. I'm going to wait for them to complete their matches first."

"Alright then, see you some other time!" Gon waved farewell as Hyuto walked off calmly towards the spectator areas, Killua just stood there staring before having narrowed his eyes at Hyuto's back. Gon seemed to notice this. "Is something wrong, Killua? Why are you looking at Hyuto like that?"

"I don't expect you to notice it, but there is more to Hyuto than meets the eye." Killua stated seriously as he clenched his fists inside his pockets. Gon seemed confused by this as he looked at Hyuto's retreating figure before looking back at Killua in a confused manner. "You may not see it, but I do. His eyes, they're not normal..."

"What do you mean?"

"Trust me, Gon. I've seen that look in someone's eyes before, they're similar to my own. However, just something else makes him stand out even more... I just don't know what." Killua frowned heavily as he said this. Gon just blinked at the words as he heard them. "Anyway, we should be careful. We might have to fight him at some point. He's strong, there's no doubt about that."

"Right... But, isn't that worrying too much?"

"You are way too trusting..."

"You think so?" Gon blinked as he rose an eyebrow curiously as he mulled over the words. Killua just facepalmed before shaking his head. "So, do you think that the others with Hyuto are as strong as he is?"

"I don't know. But, we should be careful."

Around two hours had passed by already as the group were quickly climbing their way up the floors, and they had already reached the one-hundredth floor. Hyuto managed to convince the staff to book their matches as soon as possible, so that was why they were able to climb up so fast since they didn't need to wait hours for another match.

The training that Hyuto had been giving Lux and Aya paid off greatly as they both managed to defeat their opponents easily, probably even easier than how both Killua and Gon had managed to do so. Both of them were honestly shocked by their incredible increase in physical power, it just felt so unnatural to them.

Hyuto was quite certain their money wasn't much of an issue at all as they had gotten quite a lot in total among the group members. However, Hyuto was pretty sure that the staff members who were on these floors were probably not going to allow fights to happen immediately, so they each may have to wait a few hours before being able to.

However, they did have a room now at least to rest and relax before their matches.

"So, this is what our rooms look like.." Aya muttered in awe as they had all walked into Hyuto's room. The room was quite large in size and was fully furnished with furniture of high quality. They all walked around exploring for a bit before having sat down to relax a bit as they had been told that they were going to be having matches in an hour or so.

Aya sat down on the side of the bed, Warrod sat in the chair near the window, Willa was floating up near the roof, Lux was sitting in the other chair, and Hyuto was simply leaning against the wall with his arms crossed as he didn't really feel at all tired, none of them honestly did. The matches had been a cake walk for all of them.

"Is something wrong, Hyuto?"

Aya's concerned voice caught the attention of the others as they turned to look towards the boy in question. He had been staring up at the sealing for some reason, though lowered his head to look at them upon hearing his name having been called out.

"Hm?"

"We've noticed you staring up every now and then. You okay?" Lux also decided to ask as the others seemed to nod their heads in agreement to the statement. Hyuto just blinked before giving a small sigh before replying.

"I'm not sure if it is a concern at all. Though, I have been sensing a familiar power higher up in the tower." Hyuto responded as the others seemed confused. "From what I can sense, it's coming off from a number of individuals. Some more powerful than others."

"A power?" Warrod repeated in confusion. "It's not magic, that's for sure. I would have sensed it immediately if that was the case."

"It's not magic, I know what that kind of energy feels like." Hyuto agreed. The power he was sensing now was familiar to him, though he couldn't quite put his finger on it. "The energy I'm feeling is far too different from magic. Well, we'll just have to be careful."

The others just nodded in response to his words.

The thing about him using pure divinity instead of a particular part of it was that it became harder for him to identify certain forms of power, such as magic as that power was usually overshadowed by the countless other forms.

Though, he was sure he'd be able to find out just what power the people above were using when he sees them. It was only a matter of time.

He could tell that whatever or whoever was releasing this power were far stronger than normal people. Though, nothing that he couldn't handle, he was quite certain of that.

However, they're most likely stronger than Aya and Lux, even after their extensive training.

That was impressive as either the humans of this world were capable of breaking through their normal limits as well, or they are capable of utilising a power that allows them to increase in power.

He was quite curious to find out what it was.
