12 CHAPTER 12

"Wow, is this what possession feels like?"

"Jim" raised his hands, clenched his fists, and then loosened them.

Yes, Yuri, who had become a ghost, possessed Jim's body and took control of it.

As for Jim's consciousness, it sank into a deep sleep, and when Yuri leave his body, he would forget everything.

Yuri used Jim's body to throw two punches, but there was no strength.

The feeling of possession was peculiar. After all, Jim's body was not Yuri's body, so there was a very weak sense of discoordination when controlling it, but overall movement was not affected.

It just felt a bit strange, but fortunately Yuri didn't feel uncomfortable.

*Wheeeeng, wheeeng, wheeeng!*

*Boom! Boom! Boom!*

Suddenly, a piercing alarm sounded, followed by three huge explosions.

"Jim's" eyes flashed with a cold light. The second-generation Trickster triggered the alarm. It seems that he has found what the network needs.

The three people, Terry, on the left side of the gate, also began to cause destruction to attract the attention of the guards.

Invisible, a spirit floated out of Jem's body, and then Jim collapsed on the ground like a soul-less body, passing out.

Yuri reached out and placed his hand on Jim's forehead.

"When you wake up, you will forget everything that has happened in the past two days..."

—-—

Seventh-floor evidence room.

After rummaging through some boxes, Axel finally found his target - a heavily concealed and inconspicuous safe.

He then took out a device similar to a stethoscope and placed it near the password lock of the safe. Like in movies, he turned the dial while listening through the device.

However, the moment the device touched the safe, the gravity alarm system underneath it was triggered, and the alarm immediately spread throughout the building.

Axel disregarded this and continued to focus on cracking the password lock.

A minute later, there was a loud banging on the door.

It turned out that when Axel snuck into the evidence room, he had already locked the door and firmly sealed it with candy glue - a powerful adhesive often used by the original Trickster. Although it could even control the Flash during his early days, it rapidly melted under high temperatures.

The first few guards who arrived at the evidence room found that no matter how hard they hit the door, they couldn't open it, and they even smelled a candy scent.

"This is candy glue! Does anyone have a flamethrower?"

The original Trickster was now a senior FBI agent, and all of his equipment was not a secret within the FBI, so the guards knew exactly what to do.

Suddenly, the alarm rang, and the guards on the floor rushed over here, only armed with their regular weapons, without enough time or attention to grab other equipment.

Fortunately, they also carried another weapon that could produce high temperatures.

"Use an incendiary grenade!"

The guards backed away and threw an incendiary grenade towards the door. Although it might damage some of the nearby evidence, they didn't have much choice at this point.

*Boom!*

The incendiary bomb exploded violently, and the intense flames burned fiercely. Even possibly lasting for several minutes without extinguishing.

The candy melted rapidly under high temperatures, emitting a caramel scent that gradually filled the air.

After only thirty seconds, the candy had melted almost completely, and the guards rushed in, extinguishing the flames with a fire extinguisher and then ramming the door.

This time, the door opened with a light push.

From the sound of the alarm to the guards breaking down the door, it took about three minutes.

"Drop what you're holding, you're under arrest!"

In the corner of the evidence room, Axel had just opened the safe and pulled out a booklet with a few dozen pages labeled "Network."

He looked up in surprise at the guards who had just burst in.

"What! I'm under arrest? Are you kidding me?"

"You must be joking."

Axel smirked and stuffed the booklet into his waist bag, then suddenly threw a smoke bomb in the direction of the guards.

His goal was clear, to steal the information, so after throwing the smoke bomb, Axel immediately ran towards the windowsill and shot out the glass before jumping out.

At that moment, an invisible spirit floated out from under the seventh-floor floor.

It was Yuri, who had turned into a ghostly shadow. After erasing Jim's memory, he flew straight over here.

As soon as he arrived at the evidence room, he saw Axel jumping out the window to escape.

Yuri quickly followed and flew over with Axel.

Above the sky, Axel, wearing the levitation shoes, ran forward. He had to deliver the information he obtained to the blacksmith immediately.

Yuri floated behind him and quickly caught up with Axel.

Ghostfreak's body has strong plasticity when it becomes intangible. He can turn into a long invisible thread or stretch his body like Mr. Fantastic.

Yuri's waist inexplicably stretched (if the ghost had a waist), and his upper body circled in front of Axel.

Axel's waist bag caught Yuri's eye.

"I'm sorry, it looks like you're going to run for nothing today."

Yuri thought to himself that he extended two small tentacles and quietly opened Axel's waist bag, took out the "network" data from it, and then closed the zipper.

After all, Axel was a young and inexperienced newcomer, and he didn't notice that someone had invisibly stolen his stolen information.

After getting the data, Yuri stopped in mid-air and didn't fly forward.

And Axel happily continued to run and soon disappeared at the end of the field of vision.

After getting the information, Yuri hurried back to Terry, Pudge, and Busk and removed their memories within the last two days one by one.

As for why he didn't erase Axel's memory at the same time, firstly, it was unnecessary. Axel didn't know Yuri to begin with, and he probably wouldn't recognize him even if they met again. Besides, he wouldn't have gone to the FBI specifically to say that there was actually a fifth accomplice that they missed.

Secondly, erasing memories is not a simple matter. The more strong-willed a person is, the harder it is to tamper with their memories. Axel is, after all, a super criminal, regardless of how inexperienced he may be. This puts him at a great advantage over ordinary people, and Yuri may not be able to do anything to Axel.

In fact, there is a third point: in the DC universe, memories are linked to the soul. Unless a person's soul is cleansed, their memories cannot be truly erased. At best, they can only be deeply forgotten, and there is always the possibility of recalling them.

A typical example is in identity crisis, where Zatanna, one of DC's top magical geniuses, had to spend a lot of effort to erase Dr. Light's memories, and in the end, Dr. Light still regained his memories.

However, Yuri has never read DC comics, so he is currently unaware of this.
