Tamashi Forest

"Oh dear, you must be scared. Just hug mom tightly, okay?" A woman quietly said.

Her chestnut-colored hair was short and only reached her neck. Her eyes were round, and she had a motherly figure with firm white skin.

She held her daughter tightly, sitting in the corner of a room with their backs stuck on the wall.

Growling sounds vividly escalated, as footsteps were also heard from the outside of their room. The windows were properly blocked with wooden planks, While they both trembled in realization, knowing the monsters might pounce at their house anytime.

"Mom, I'm scared." The girl, who seemed to be in her late teens, silently muttered, terrified of what might suddenly happen.

The daughter had inherited her mother's chestnut-colored hair, but hers was long and reached beyond her back. She had round, beautiful eyes and plump cherry lips. She had a slender figure, a mid-sized chest, and firm white skin.

Their house shook after a monster jumped above and stood on their roof. Dust sprouted and scattered while the two remained silent and glued themselves beside a wall.

"Listen sweetie, Just think of today as the same as every day, okay? Nothing bad will happen, so just lie on my lap and go to sleep, okay?" The mother quietly said, whispering at her daughter's ears.

"Yes mom." The daughter replied, slowly lying on her mother's lap. Forcing herself to sleep while a slight tremor occurred and random sounds reverberated through their place.

After several hours passed, she fell asleep while her mother gently patted her head, guarding her for the night.

The next day came, and the village was finally peaceful. Several things were thrashed around, and some of the small wooden houses got partially destroyed.

"Amina! Good morning!" An elderly woman yelled with a bright smile.

Amina Flakes is the daughter of Reyna Flakes. (The mother and daughter who were mentioned above)

"Good morning, Sona!" Amina responded happily while she passed through the village carrying a bag of vegetables. Wooden houses were displayed row by row. People were doing their own thing while others fixed their own houses after last night's incident.

Several more greetings followed, while Amina responded to all of the villager's greetings.

Reyna came out of their front door after sweeping the dust inside their house. She then wiped off her sweat with her sleeves and let out a long sigh.

Amina saw her mom sighing out of exhaustion. She then hurriedly walked towards her.

"Mom, Are you alright? You should rest for a bit." She said, worried about her mother's state.

She knew that every time monsters appeared at night, her mother would always guard her until the sun rose without sleeping. So basically, her mother was always sleep-deprived.

Their village was unenforced; there were no walls that protected it. But thankfully, inferior monsters such as glade wolves were the only ones that invaded their village at night. It was as if it were hunting, but not entirely going through inside their houses.

But still, after the sun sets and the moon arises, the villagers would immediately halt what they've been doing and hide in their houses until the sun rises again. Since the monsters would leave their village in the morning and return to the forest.

Ever since they were cast away from the Kingdom of Villatensia, they were forced to live within the borders of the Tamashi forest.

The poor and fallen were cast away. That was the rule of Villatensia.

Tamashi Forest was known to be a vast forest occupied by different types of monsters. A place where no one should step foot into carelessly.

But despite their unpleasant situation, they still prayed to the goddess of the ocean. In hopes of being liberated from poverty and the cruel mistreatment of the people of Villatensia.

"Goddess of the Ocean, please grant us prosperity and protect us from dangers." Reyna sincerely prayed, while both she and Amina were prostrating in front of a wooden goddess sculpture.

Amina then raised her head, staring intently at the goddess sculpture while her mom kept on praying.

Meanwhile, in the tamashi forest. Gabimaru and Ganz were nearing the village. No monsters were to be found, as if they purposely avoided them. While last night after the sunset, Gabimaru learned something new from the Omniscient System.

It was dark, but thanks to his omniscient eyes, everything became bright, like it was still in broad daylight.

Ganz, who now possessed a name, shrank his size into a more humanly appearance. But his mana energy increased, even if his size had badly reduced.

Ganz, who had been awake for several days while hunting for his food, suddenly felt sleepy and asked for Gabimaru's permission to let him sleep.

While Gabimaru agreed, he stood guard. But he then felt sleepy all of a sudden, "Why am I feeling sleepy too?" He mumbled.

[Notice: Acquiring a human body involves human features such as the importance of eating, sleeping, peeing, and pooping.]

Huh!? So I will need to sleep too? Just like what Ganz is doing? I never slept in my entire life before getting sealed into my own abyss." He responded through thought communication.

[Answer: You will have to now, since you have become a mortal who's regaining his demi-god abilities.]

Fine, I guess... But who'll take guard when we're both asleep? Someone might attack us."

[Notice: Do not worry. I am your omniscient system. Even when you are asleep, I am still awake.]

What does that have to do with guarding?"

[Answer: Once you fall asleep, I can transfer your consciousness away and enter your vessel. While you are sleeping soundly, I will be controlling your body in case an emergency arises.]

Ahh, So it's like you possess me, right? Fine, since it's you anyway. Okay, I'll leave the guarding to you." Gabimaru stated and immediately lied on the floor to sleep.

[Transfering consciousness...]

[Permission to take over: Granted]

[Auto-Pilot mode: Activated]

Gabimaru's eyes awoke and gleamed brightly as they slowly closed once more and returned to their sleep state.

While Gabimaru's consciousness could not be disturbed, the system could wholeheartedly control his body without disturbing Gabimaru's resting state.

Back to the current day.

[Notice: The village is approximately 50 meters ahead in the northern direction.]

"I see we're getting close." Gabimaru mumbled while they continuously walked throughout the forest of Tamashi.

Ganz was preoccupied with his status window, while Gabimaru conversed with the system through thought communication.

System, Does that auto-pilot thing also work in combat?" He asked.

[Answer: Yes. If Gabimaru says so, then it can be activated while you are able to witness it firsthand without being able to control your body.]

So I'll be able to see what's entirely happening while you're the one controlling my body... That'll be pretty useful."

[Notice: You must not fully rely on my greatness, or you will become useless.]

Wow, thanks for the kind words. But I won't be fully relying on you; I know how to fight as well anyway."

[Warning: Glade wolves have been detected 37 meters ahead of north.]

[Would you like to activate spatial wormholes and transport them up to the sky?]

[Y/N]

Yes, it'll be experience points anyway. Just kill them." Gabimaru replied, stating that the system should handle it with his authority.

Glade wolves have silver-gray fur and are two meters tall.

Spacial wormholes instantly activated beneath the Glade wolves, and as soon as they fell inside, the last thing they knew was that they were falling continuously above the sky and got squashed into pieces after landing with extreme speed from a very tall height, crashing near Gabimaru and Ganz's position.

Their blood splashed throughout the place while it streamed through the surface, covering the ground with purple liquid.

[Notice: All Glade wolves have been eliminated.]

[Experience points acquired]

[Your level has increased to 79]

[Mana Energy has been increased to 20,200]

[Opening Status Window]

[Name: Gabimaru]

[Title: Black - Demi-God of the Darkness]

[Level: 79]

[Race: Human - Male]

[Mana Energy: 20,200/20,200]

[Usable Skills: Spatial Wormhole, Dark Projectiles, Shadow Binding, Shadow Strike]

I see, Killing a lot of them can barely increase my level." He said whilst staring at his status window.

Ganz, on the other hand, was surprised after seeing countless Glade wolves fall from the sky and crash to their deaths.

The boss is truly overpowered. Without even wasting any efforts... he can entirely kill a lot of monsters with just his spatial skill." Ganz mumbled through his head, thinking about how strong his boss was.

"It was truly a good decision to follow him." He murmured to himself and grinned.
