10 Dungeon preparations

(A.N: Switched to first person POV for this chapter.)

I woke up with my hp and energy fully restored and my body feeling nice and fresh.

But my mind was another story.

Due to my unique-skill-using spree yesterday, my comprehension lowered to critical level.

[Comprehension: 0.16(Action needed)]

What's the difference between high comprehension and low comprehension?

It's my ability to break down and process information.

My thoughts feel sluggish and it takes long time for me to remember things. It's quite hard, actually.

At least I got some money for my sacrifice.

But no amount of money is going to fix my ever-decreasing brain cells, attribute points do.

So I'm going to a dungeon today!

Feeling energized, I quickly get up and do my morning routine. I cook up a nice breakfast for myself since my parents are sleeping. I quickly check up on their room and they are sleeping like babies but that's to be expected. It's their first real sleep in ages after all.

We are currently in a different hotel on the other side of the town to avoid the Bloodhound gang. It's very likely that they have been paid to be pieces of shit by Blake.

My eyes immediately shift between 12 different colors and settles on red when I think about Blake. I swear I'm going to kill that bastard and convert him into exp.

"Patience, he's level 1222 for fuck's sake" I reminded myself. His strangely overpowered unique skills and along with his, presumably 4 to 5 digit attributes are not to be underestimated and who knows what he got by killing a Titan?

With my mood soured, I eat my breakfast begrudgingly.

"Let's focus on what I'm going to do today." I said to myself.

First, go and buy some weapons and armors.

Two, hire some body guards for my family. There is a chance that the gang will come chase after us. They have hound in their name after all.

Third, buy some healing potions and poison antidotes for my father.

Fourth, buy something about magic. Affinity towards mana was my only strength previously and I don't intend to overlook my natural talent.

Fifth, level the fuck up and get strong.

Alright, I have set my priorities and I leave the hotel.

I glance at the card in my hands which had '2000G' on it. That's precisely the amount of money I took from Strongheart, now known as Weakheart.

I shake my head and quickly go to the military shop. They asked for an identification when I got there so I showed them the card that I got from Blake. The card said I was a M.S.T which stands for military special trainee.

There are 4 occupations for a combat awakened. Becoming a soldier at the military, becoming a hunter, raider or an exterminator. Soldier is self explanatory, you do what the higher ups do. Hunters are people who take commissions for what they kill. For example, if a gear factory requires some scales from a reptile monster, they can pay the hunters to kill them and get their drops. I heard some hunters even take human murder commissions.

Raiders are people who raid the subspaces, typically called dungeons. Dungeons typically appear when a monster achieves the 'Boss' title. Then the boss monster inhabits the subspace where it grows stronger by absorbing the energy around the subspace. Slowly, monsters of the same or relative species spawn inside the dungeon. When anything dies, including the monsters or intruders, the energies from their souls go to the boss. If a dungeon is not cleared for a long period then the boss appears as a disaster rank. If a dungeon raid is performed but fails then it accelerated the process so being a raider is a risky and responsible job. But there are some irregular dungeons. Irregular dungeons don't have any bosses, they are not even subspaces. They are just a place where monsters spawn non stop. The dungeon I'm going is an irregular dungeon.

Exterminator is a relatively new occupation. Unlike hunters and raiders who kill monsters for profit, they do so out of necessity due to the influx of monsters recently. When a hunter or a raider fights a monster, they try not to damage it's hides as much as possible to sell it for high price. Exterminators will nuke them without a second thought. Every single exterminators are said to be brutal as hell.

I got inside the shop and bought a protective suit, a spear, a sword, 2 daggers and a metal bat.

I don't want to be limited by my weapon choice so I want to master a lot of them. Spear because of it's range, sword because it's versatile and who doesn't want a sword? daggers because I need sneaky weapons as last resort and a metal bat as a brunt weapon.

I paid 76 gold in total. I could have paid more for higher quality equipment but I don't want to depend on my weapons much. What I need right now is combat experience and literal experience.

I bought rest of the stuff with no problem. I got 1 medium grade recovery potion, 3 lesser healing potions and 1 basic magic guide.

I also hired 3 level 20 hunters for 3 days. I'm worried that they might get bought by Blake so I didn't hire them for long time.

In total that cost about 1841G in total including the equipment. I also bought a belt and a backpack.

Damn, spending money is fun.

About 3pm in the afternoon, I stand before a cavern. The cavern was blocked by an earth wall so I had to show my license and pay 100G before entering.

I only have 59G, plenty if I want to live like a normal person but little for an awakened. I definitely want to get my own license instead of the one Blake gave me so I would also need money for the test fee as well.

Ugh. Anyways, I clear my pounding heart and enter the cavern.
