After Battle

Matyr watched the crowd cheer for her with a solemn expression.

'Why do I feel like I didn't really win this fight'

Princess Swallow-heaven stood up from her seat.

"Since, the winner of the round is too injured to continue on, the final round will take place tomorrow. You are free to leave!"

With that, she disappeared from everyone's sight.

Matyr glanced at Lenin one last time, and then walked away.

Lenin lay in the giant crater with his hand covering his face. Droplets of tears fell from his eyes. He hadn't expected to lose the fight. If only he had not acted arrogantly and had gone all out from the start.

Most people would not understand why he was so hurt by the outcome of this battle. All his life, he had been suppressed by his mother and when he finally had the chance to push back and actually dominate a school, he lost.

Little did he know that during the battle with Matyr, at the very critical juncture, his god force had been temporarily stripped away from him.

"Nin.... Lenin... Lenin!"

Lenin snapped out of his daze. He moved his hand to see Brian, Aina and Trisha standing atop of him.

"I called you for so long yet you didn't hear" Trisha said with a worried expression.

Lenin quickly wiped his face and laughed.

"Hahaha... Its nothing. I'm fine"

"Can you walk?" Aina asked with a stoic expression.

Lenin raised a brow. Aina was usually unreadable, but she seemed more agitated than usual.

"I can barely move. For some reason, its like all my energy has left me"

"Oh? That's weird"

Aina murmured.

"Its probably because you didn't eat enough. Come on, let's go to the infirmary." Brian said as he walked towards Lenin and held him up. He supported Lenin until they reached the infirmary.

The infirmary was a very large spacious room. It was situated at the central wing of the institution. It had various high tech tools that could be used to solve any medical disease known to man. There were rows of beds which had white curtains on each side to prevent people from intruding on the patients.

Brian helped Lenin unto the bed and went to call the nurse. Trisha was happily chatting with her brother and consoling him while Aina stood a few meters away minding her own business.

As Lenin spoke with his sister, his head turned towards Aina.

'Why is she standing over there? She's been acting very weird since after the battle. Could it be because of the display of my strength? No, that's not it. I already told them my real cultivation level. Then what could it be?'

"Yo bro? Are you ignoring me?"

"Why would you think that?"

"I asked you a question and you were just staring into the air." Trisha said as she pouted.

"Ah! I'm sorry." Lenin stretched his hand and pet her on the head.

"I'm not a kid anymore you know!"

"As if" Lenin said with a small laugh.

All of a sudden, foot steps could be heard approaching. Lenin assumed it was the nurse, but he was wrong. Before their very eyes, a woman with white hair and dazzling yellow eyes approached them.

"Lenin! Are you injured?"

"I'm okay mom"

"Are you sure? Do you need me to get a grade A healer?"

"Mom! We can't even afford an E class healer" Lenin shook his head. His mother fussed way too much.

"Sigh. At least, I hope you are okay"

"I already answered you mom"

"I mean mentally"

Lenin's face changed. His mother knew him way to well.

"I'll be okay"

"Ow... My son" she walked towards him and wrapped him in her bossom. Lenin sighed in her embrace.

Freda was worried about her son.

'I had no choice. If I didn't do that, far greater forces would have come to hunt us down.'

Freda's eyes then changed colour to a deep glowing red.

'But if he can break just because he lost one match then he doesn't deserve to be my son. Or the son of that man'

Lenin pulled back from his mother.

"I'm fine, really"

"Good".

Freda gave her boy a dazzling smile.

......

In the evening....

Matyr sat in a chair infront of her tea table. She sipped a steamy sweet scented tea as she read a book. Even though her eyes were on the book, she comprehended none of the words. Her mind kept on wandering back to the battle she had with a boy who was, until a week ago, a mortal.

She knew something weird had happened. Even though it pained her to admit it, she shouldn't have won that battle. Someone or something had interfered. Or so she speculated.

She heaved a heavy sigh.

'Let's forget about that for now. Tomorrow, I face Lanvris Secraf. Compared to him, Lenin is a joke. I better make preparations!'

She stood up abruptly. This caused her white transparent gown to flutter in the wind. Any man who saw her would be erect for days.

The gown showed everything that lay behind the school uniform. A sumptuous well proportioned body. She walked gracefully to her training room to prepare.

.......

Lenin sat with Brian and Aina at the kitchen table. Lenin and Brian chatted normally, but Aina ate silently paying no mind to the boys. Lenin noticed this and turned towards her.

"You've been acting weird since the battle. What's wrong?"

"Nothing"

She replied without looking at him.

Lenin frowned.

"It can't be nothing. You aren't usually this quiet. Where are your sarcastic remarks? What's going on?"

"I said it's nothing. Don't press me any further."

"Lenin, leave her alone. I'm sure its nothing" Brian said nervously.

"What? Brian, how can you say that? Am I the only person who has noticed her beha-"

"Shut up!!!!"

Lenin was stunned a bit. He looked straight into Aina's eyes.

"I'm full. I'm going to bed." Aina said as she quickly got up and left.

Lenin stared after her in shock. He looked at her plate. She had not eaten any of it.

After Aina left, Brian and Lenin didn't speak again. They had a quiet lunch.
