Chapter 37: Single-Minded

-Reyha Kingdom; Gallo's Outskirts; Goblin's Lair; 10th Floor-

Standing there staring at Kymani and Lavenica, was Irka who said. "As I mentioned before, so long as I live you will not see what stands beyond the door, and for that reason, I can't allow you to take my life, so prepare to die by my hand... After all, it is my duty."

Not saying anything in response, Kymani focused on <Light Conversion> as the purple aura intensified slowly. Lavenica, who was in front of him, moved towards Irka.

Holding the musket in her hands, she froze it into an ice cub of sorts, as Irka came in to attack her, swinging his spear covered in air pressure.

A move that was avoided by Lavenica, who then hit Irka's left leg, with no real effect as her attack bounced off, however as Irka countered with attacks of his own, she dodged it easily.

"... How? I can feel it... You're weak, so how can you dodge my attacks?!" Irka was confused.

"As mentioned previously by mister Iketica, you seem to be blinded towards anything that does not concern your so called, "Duty". Fittingly, you are now physically experiencing it as well. I've observed you throughout the whole battle, and I've come to the conclusion that you are extremely predictable." Lavenica calmly elaborated as she evaded every attack she threw at him, and attacked him to no avail whenever there was an opening.

"... Whatever the case, you can't win!" Irka announced as he jumped and threw his spear at Kymani, it was, however, intercepted by the frozen musket, deviating the trajectory just enough to miss Kymani. "... You!" Turning his attention back to Lavenica, Irka continued to attack her with his bare arm and feet, as she dodged every single move, and hit him whenever she could, causing him no damage.

"You're such a single-minded individual, how sad. It completely wastes the work of your parents in creating you." Lavenica commented as she engaged in combat with him.

And as if something had snapped in his mind, Irka focused his strength on his right foot, before stomping on the floor, and causing it to tremble as a small shockwave destabilized Lavenica, and she fell to the ground.

Having the opportunity, Irka put all his strength into his arm as he veins from the muscle tensing can be seen, and he punched at her.

"Do not dare talk of my parents, you wench!" Irka was wide opened eyes with a deep frown.

This would have only one result for Lavenica... Death!

Just then, Kymani came from a purple mass and slashed Irka, cutting his other arm, and giving him a new cut, a horizontal one on his chest.

'A move using both <Void walker> and <Light Conversion>... Maybe I should call it void slash.., a bit generic, but it works... More importantly, you're not touching Lavy!' Kymani thought to himself.

{Hahahaha! This monster! Even after that! He's still alive, be careful master!} Sand Shredder shouted.

Unfortunately, it was too late and Kymani was hit in the face by a full-force flying kick from Irka, sending Kymani flying into the wall.

[HP: 80/880] In a single attack, Kymani was almost sent out of commission.

"Master?!" Seeing Kymani get hit like that, she could help but worry, unfortunately for her, she was in no position to act that way.

While she was distracted by Kymani's well-being, Irka walked to her, before stomping her under his foot. A gush of blood came out of Lavenica's mouth as she got hit.

Kymani's eyes became fully red just like Irka's as the skill <Rabid> had activated and without a second thought or any thought at all, Kymani holding Sand Shredder, jumped at Irka and began slashing at him in quick succession, like there was no tomorrow cutting him up all over the place.

{Hahahahahaha! Go in on the bastard! Hahaha! Your body! And fall, will be our strength tomorrow!} Sand Shredder was having fun with the sporadic wild attack.

In a mere 10 seconds... Kymani stopped as he felt his whole body hurt, as his eyes slowly went back to normal.

At that moment, he fell to the ground trembling.

Standing in front of him, was Irka slashed up all over his torso and head, but still standing trembling just like Kymani, but unlike Kymani, he could still move and used that mobility to walk to Kymani, blood dripping from him all over, as various different cut acted like blood waterfalls.

"Just... Like... I... Said... I... Lived... Up... To... My... DUTY!" With various pauses and a weak voice, Irka declared victory, before lifting his foot, ready to stomp, Kymani.

"Thorny... Bones." Kymani chanted, and just then, a sea of bone spikes rose from his arm, and pierced through Irka, from his chest to his head, holes all over, then the spikes retracted.

"Ha... Ha... Ha.... It seems the Fool triumphed... My duty... Is over... And I've failed... But somehow, I'm not mad... I could still stomp you, even so... I think, I'll take a little break." Like some sort of zombie, Irka continued talking despite his state, but once he was done, he immediately fell to the ground.

[Swordsman- A warrior specialized in swordsmanship. The strengths and weaknesses depend on the sword style practiced by the individual.]

[Brawler- A closer-quarters fighter with high mobility and decent attack power, boasting a weak defense.]

[Berserker- A warrior specialized in doing damage, having a very high attack, but weak mobility and defense.]

[Symbiotic Warrior- A warrior with a special connection to their weapon on a biological level, the strengths and weaknesses depending on the weapon in question.]

High Viscous Voidling, High Viscous Goblinoid, High Celestial Vessel, Spawn Of Order And Chaos, Holder Of Sin And Virtues, Isekai Wanderer]

[High Viscous Voidling- A blob of gelatinous being with some intelligence and high affinity towards the void element, being able to travel through space freely. This subspecies of voidling is currently extinct in this world, after being hunted to extinction due to their abilities, very long ago.]

[High Viscous Goblinoid- An extremely rare mixed breed of goblin and slime, being a goblin-like creature with the abilities of the gelatinous slimes. They have incredible potential but are however incapable of naturally reproducing, their offspring only inheriting the goblin side.]

[High Celestial Vessel- A sentient vessel of celestial souls, these mechanical beings resembling human sized dolls do not age or grow sick, as well as have high ability towards celestial ascension and unbelievable potential, able to learn Aby abilities that aren't unique, or racial. Due to their celestial leaning, once they lean toward divinity or profanity, they become weak to the opposite. They cannot stand neutral in celestial matters, and must choose a side. If or when they house a celestial soul, they become servants to the soul and must follow their commands.]

[Spawn Of Order And Chaos- A rare mixed breed of a magical being constantly torn between order and chaos, who might fall towards any side. They have a high affinity towards both and are destined to ascend as celestial beings, however, they tend to be hunted down due to their incredible potential or to be turned into materials for other uses. If they meet a Celestial master of chaos or Order, they might be converted into their servant.]

[Holder Of Sin And Virtues- A rare mixed breed of a magical being, responsible for overseeing the sins and virtues of mortals, as well as appropriately casting judgment on them. These beings serve a celestial and can ever ascend, but exist at a level that is unreachable to mortals, this being at no danger from them.]

[Isekai Wanderer- A dimensional being specialized in crossing the space between dimensions and worlds. They are often highly targeted due to their abilities. An endangered species.]

A rain of notifications greeted Kymani before he could even process what was going on.
