Chapter 27: Rematch(2)

-Reyha Kingdom; Gallo's Outskirts; Goblin's Lair; 10th Floor-

As the signal was heard, both combatants charged at each other, and Kymani this time, went in wanting to finish this quick and used every opening he found, which weren't that many as Iketica was taking this fully seriously and watched out for those kinds of attacks precisely, but even still, he was hit multiple times, on the face, stomach and waist until it finally happened.

[Warning! Named monster Iketica has entered crisis state! A significant increase in their overall power has occurred.]

'Of course… when will I get my crisis state? Or am I not allowed to a have a rage mode? Oh well, let's see how bad things are.' Kymani wasn't too surprised and was half expecting this to happen.

Just like the last time it happened, Iketica began moving faster than Kymani and also increased his already troublesome strength, with his eyes having gone from yellow to red. Unlike before though, Kymani was not completely unmatched, he could still parry the attack aside from dodging, but everytime he did so his arms would fully tremble from the impact.

"The fact you can just do this in a pinch is something else." Kymani commented.

"Don't worry, you're still a pain to deal with regardless." Iketica retorted.

It was then that Kymani focused and with the use of his skills <Int. Mana Sense.Lv H>, <Int. Battle Instincts.Lv H>, <Int. Dagger Mastery.Lv H>, <Int CQC.Lv H>, <Int. Body Control.Lv H>, he began to see the world around him move much slower as if he had activated bullet time, then using the opening he found, Kymani dodged a horizontal attack from Iketica, hitting him on the waist and throwing out a few more hits before having to dodge again.

"Every time it seems I have you, you become even harder to hit, honestly the most fun I've had in battle for a very long time, thank you. It's the all-or-nothing now!" Iketica declared.

"Bring it on." Kymani replied.

Iketica came full force and speed, in a way that didn't give Kymani time to dodge only parried by a tin hair, and even then he was sent a few meters away. That was followed by this.

"Sand Dancing Warrior Technique: Yellow Sun!" Once again Kymani found himself trapped in a square formation created by what looked like a very fast-moving Iketica, going between the four sides, his sword already covered with the same red aura from before.

Already aware this was going to happen, Kymani was calm and ready. Then Iketica did the jump and came instead appeared in front of Kymani rather than behind ready to hit him with his red-coated greatsword as he swung at him.

Unfortunately for Iketica, Kymani saw through that and hit him with a strong high kick on the neck before he could even swing the sword, and sent him flying a few meters before he regained composure.

"Your technique isn't bad, but once you understand how the four-side formation works as the main catalyst, rather than the distraction, that is you jumping, at that point, it's not that hard to predict which side of the attack is the real you, and which are mirages. You would probably get more from going more sporadic and fully embracing the mirage thing." Kymani pointed out.

"Hahaha! After all the hard work to perfect that, you see through it this easily!... You know what, you have point, let's let it loose!" Iketica smiled and then took the stance to use his technique, making Kymani wary as he got ready to defend against it.

"Sand Dancing Warrior Technique: Red Sun!" Instead of the once-square formation, this one was circular as Kymani quickly found himself at the center of it.

Various after-images of Iketica surrounded Kymani, putting him on high alert as to what was to come next.

"Round 1!" As Iketica chanted two afterimages charged at Kymani from opposite sides very quickly forcing him to think fast and he chose to stop one.

Unfortunately for Kymani, he chose wrong and was slashed on the back. As soon as he turned to retaliate Iketica had already escaped back into the circle of afterimages. Blood dripping from his back, Kymani smiled standing ready.

"Give up! It was a good fight, but it's over. I don't really want to hurt you." Iketica suggested.

"Just do your worst, I'll be fine." Kymani replied with no hesitation.

"So be it! Round 2!" Iketica chanted and 4 afterimages came from North, South, West, and East of Kymani, at a quick pace making it even harder to find the real one.

'Good thing, I don't have to choose.' Kymani uses the advantage of a greatsword it being a decently long weapon, to do a spinning attack as a counter, forcing Iketica to avoid it instead.

"How ingenious... But this is far from all of it!" Iketica commented.

"I'm curious, what else do you have in store?" Kymani urged him.

"Round 3!" Iketica chanted, causing 8 afterimages to attack in a sort of octagon formation, but that was not all as from the top a 9th afterimage jumped just like in the Yellow Sun move, then came down with a horizontal attack.

'Focus, you can see through this... ' Kymani concentrated and managed to see through it, confidently parrying the attack of the one coming from the air.

Clash!

In an instant, the attack connected before phasing through as Kymani could feel the presence come from behind him.

"You lose!" Iketica confidently announced.

'As I thought! Gotcha!' Kymani smirked. '<Void Walker>' He chanted in his mind.

As Iketica's attack was about the make contact, it instead passed through a dark blue jelly cloud, leaving him confused, but before he could even utter a word he was smacked down and had a sword on his neck.

"Kymani is the winner!" Rakuia declared.

"... Interesting... This information will certainly, be helpful later." Lavenica commented as she observed Kymani.
