Chapter 15: Finally Out

-Reyha Kingdom; Gallo City; Royal Palace-

Eventually, Beth brought the crate.

"Young Lady Merilyn, are you sure you want to do this? It is quite risky and could easily get you in trouble." Beth said.

"Don't worry, I very much so want to do this, and if get caught so be it. Just doing this already feels much better than sitting around or hiding all the time." Merilyn smiled as she responded.

"Then so be it..." Beth nodded her head.

From then Merilyn was given new clothes to be able to not stand out in the outside world. After she finished changing, the conversation went on. Now having her, wear a more basic beige blouse, and black pants with brown boots.

Once it all was discussed, they got everything ready, and the three were hidden in a wooden crate, under the cloth. Then Beth began moving it from then on.

-Reyha Kingdom; Gallo City; Royal Palace; King's office-

*sigh* "I just need to finish a few more things, and I should be to bed, Luciani must already be waiting for me." King Faroz muttered to himself as he was working on the last few things for the day.

At that moment coming directly from the shadows in front of him on the floor, under the moon's nightly glow, Lavenik appeared in the room and immediately bowed before his presence.

"Your majesty, the dark elf girl, and the slime hero are attempting to sneak out of the castle as we speak, but not only that... They have come into contact with Young Lady Merilyn, and with her help are trying to leave, by passing off as disposables. The maid named Beth being their accomplice under the authority of princess Merilyn. How should they be dealt with?" Lavnik reported.

"... So she's with the heroes... Let them go. This will be a good chance for her to get closer to at least one of the heroes, and that dark elf isn't simple either. All in all not much of a loss, just keep an eye on them from afar and only act if absolutely necessary. Otherwise, let them be, maybe the experience is what they need anyway, young people won't listen until life slaps them right across their face." King Faroz ordered.

"Yes, your majesty!" Lavnik left disappeared into the shadows on the floor the same way he came in.

-Reyha Kingdom; Gallo City; Royal Palace; Ionis' room-

Sitting in a room decorated with gold and black as the primary colors, was prince Ionis, the second prince of Reyha and Merilyn's twin brother. He was writing a letter, when similar to how Lavnik appeared for the King, a shadowy figure with no discernible features appeared behind him from his shadow.

"What is it? It better be good for you to disturb me at this time of the day." Ionis said calmly not bothering to stop writing his letter.

"Young Lady Merilyn is currently escaping the palace with the slime hero and the dark elf." The shadow reported.

"Hum... And what does my father say?" Ionis Inquired.

"Your majesty says that it is a good opportunity for her to grow closer to the heroes and also experience a bit of the world." The shadow responded.

"I see... You're dismissed." Ionis commanded.

Just as ordered the shadow soon disappeared, leaving Ionis alone. He then put the pen down and got up from the chair before going to grab the nearest vase, lifting it, and throwing it at the wall.

"That moronic barbaric bitch! How many times will she find a way to ruin everything?!... Did I seriously need to be tied to a fool after everything I'd already been through?!... Whatever at least she's making herself somewhat useful by befriending one of the heroes... If it only wasn't the monster one... Oh well, things can't always go my way, it's adapt and overcome. Once that whore has outlived her usefulness though, I'll definitely kill that ungrateful mutt." Ionis breathed in and out multiple times until found himself calm and then sat once again to write his letter.

By which time a knight and a maid came in to check on him.

"Good luck, young lady, I'll be back later." Beth said her goodbyes before leaving and going back into the royal palace.

From then on, Kymani, Lavenica, and Merilyn were left to their own devices. In a pretty full street with people going back and forth through their day not minding them too much, even though some glances would be thrown at Lavenica or Merilyn from time to time, while nobody cared too much about Kymani, after all, if he was that deep into the city he was unlikely to prove dangerous.

"From now, we should register at the adventurers guild so we can get clearance to enter, the nearest dungeon, and in there, most of Master's immediate problems with the current form can be solved." Lavenica said.

"Oh! I heard stories about the adventurers, and how brutish they are. Though the ones I saw before were nothing like that." Merilyn commented.

"Probably because only adventurers who met a certain standard were allowed to work for you..." Lavenica pointed out.

From then they began moving until they got, to the building of the adventurers guild, and went inside to be met with a bar atmosphere with various men and women getting drunk while talking and laughing, but somehow the place didn't smell like alcohol or worse...

Not minding that too much, Lavenica continued walking all the way to the counter, while Merilyn followed while looking all around in awe at the place, and how rudimentary it was.

"Good night, and welcome to the adventurers guild, how may I be of help to you?" A woman at the counter with black hair reacted and spoke as soon as they got close enough.

"We would like to register as adventurers," Lavenica replied.

"Hum... Ok, just know that while the minimum age requirement is 9, no one below the age of 12 can take any beyond J rank, which amount only to chores unless proven capable of doing so by completing the I Rank initiation test. Would you like to proceed anyway?" The woman explained.

"Yes." Lavenica answered completely ignoring what the woman said.

"Good, wait a while, I'll go get the cards and the sphere." The woman excused herself and went to get the necessary tools.

"It's exactly like the books I read, and it even says that adventurers are so brazen and rash that they would immediately hit on any pretty girl that enters the adventurer's guild. Though the same thing happens to handsome men, apparently as even female adventurers are also like that." Merilyn began talking to Lavenica seeing that the other lady would take a bit to come back.

"What do we have here? What are two dazzling young ladies doing here?" One of the adventurers a young man with red hair approached with a smile.

"Exactly like this. The book also said that adventurers tend to lack awareness about their general attractiveness and strength as simply being higher ranking tends to get to their head. Such an accurate depiction of the experience, makes me wonder if the author of the book, was an adventurer themselves." Merilyn ignored the young man completely, not bothering to answer or even look at him.

"Could be the case, but it's hard to say since just about anyone can come in here and see for themselves." Lavenica also didn't care about the young man hitting on them.

"Listen here you little whores! Do you have any idea of who I a-" Before the red-haired young man could finish his sentence, Merilyn karate-chopped him in the neck, knocking him out immediately.

Then from the side, various adventurers began commenting.

"Hahaha! Frikin newbies always make the same mistakes, when they see a pretty face."

"It's common knowledge among adventurers that you don't mess with people who just came to register! You have no idea what they are capable of! It's a jinx that repeats itself all the time."

"It's all because newbies never listen to us and always think they know better. Serves him right! Hahaha!"

"I didn't even have to step in, that new girl's got some moves, I barely saw her hand move."

"True, it seems a new overpowered person is joining again. How do you think it will take her to reach Gold rank? I bet on 3 months at most!"

"No, I think at least half a year, she's got some skill, but let's not exaggerate."

And the conversation ended as a betting of tons of money on how long Merilyn would take to become a Gold-rank adventurer.

"You hit him a bit too hard... You could have killed him by accident if you put any more force." Lavenica pointed out.

"... Really?!... I thought he would be more resistant than that... I'll be careful next time... Tee hee!" Merilyn hit herself in the head lightly upon realizing her mistake.

{It seems she's ok with killing... Great! It would have been problematic if were pacifistic.} Kymani was pleasantly surprised.

Eventually, the woman with black hair came back with a tray containing a sphere and 2 blank cards.

"Here, you two girls have to put your hand on the sphere and I'll record the into the cards. Who will be the first one?" She asked.

"You're missing a blank card for her, and Master will go first." Lavenica pressed Kymani against the sphere and before the woman could say anything, she saw the information appear and immediately picked up one of the blank cards.

Then she looked at Kymani and said. "Can... I pull a bit of you? Cause I need to put it on the card so it can be linked to you."

Kymani simply stretched his slime form like some sort of tentacle arm, and she pulled a bit of him putting it on the card, which absorbed it, and the card was made.

It went from being a blank white card to having a wood pattern with some of Kymani's info on it. Soon Lavenica began making her own and the result was similar.

Then the lady went back in to get one last card for Merilyn.

Rank: F- (Silver Rank)]

Instead of having a wood pattern, it had a silver pattern to it.

"Hum... Miss, to confirm your Silver rank, you'll have to come with me to the evaluation room. Your friends can watch if you wish for it." The woman said.

"Are you guys willing to wait for me?" Merilyn questioned.

{Go ahead... She's frikin monstrous... And Brawler of all things despite being a princess...} Kymani was shocked by the revolution of Merilyn's strength.

"Master said it's fine." Lavenica was unfazed.

"Where to?" Merilyn asked the woman.

"Follow me." She then guided the way.

They soon found themselves in an arena area, and there was a silver-haired woman wearing gauntlets, already waiting there.

"This is Chimena, The instructor for your test. She's a Silver rank adventurer and if you manage to impress her, you'll pass." The guild receptionist explained.

{What do think? Does Merilyn have a chance?} Kymani inquired.

{Probaly, honestly, I can't fully tell, since they are way above what I can do right now, but it does seem like she's around that level.} Lavenica responded.

"Hello, it's my pleasure to be under you during this test." Merilyn greeted Chimena.

"Hi! As Rony right there said, I'm here to test your skills, and I'm equally pleased to meet you. It's hard to find people this polite working as adventurers and honestly, I don't it suits the profession to act that way. If you're not careful you'll get underestimated by other adventurers and clients alike, and they'll definitely try to take advantage of your kindness." Chimena pointed out.
