23 Chapter 23 - Unexpected Mission!?
You may like or hate this chapters since I change the reason why MC had a harem.
Unlike in the past version, it was because of selfishness but now it's different. You'll see once you read the chapter.

Ryuu was walking down his home while thinking about his training with Shinobu regarding Total Concentration Breathing techniques. Though their style is different, it was still helpful to guide him skillfully using the Total Concentration Breathing technique.
It shows a clear difference between knowing and doing. He was given the knowledge of bringing technique by Shinobu but his body needed to practice it properly. A large factor in their body and gender.
At most, the knowledge she shared was the fundamentals of breathing techniques that were used to strengthen and empower themselves.
Ryuu ponders what is the limitation that could be shared in the [ Gift ]. Magic skills is clearly not an option as it's innate rather than knowledge therefore wouldn't just suddenly acquire [ Spirit form skill ] from Vandalieu without having the affinity with death magic.
There are factors of what and could be given but rewards would let them acquire the skills even without affinity. He soon arrived at his home for dinner and was surprised to see his father arrive early.
"Dad, you're early?" Ryuu is surprised to see his father at the dinner table.
"Oh, son!? Come come! How was your day?" He smiled seeing his son being active again even though he studied Eskrima with Justine lacked the mentality to make it a habit and only was forced by his friend to train.
"It's been progressive. I'll change clothes as I've been covered in sweat from working."
Ryuu gave a smile before heading to his room to wash and change into casual clothes. Afterward, he sat down in front of his dad to have dinner while looking at his mother who was cooking their meal.
He was delighted that his father had arrived home earlier than before which was made since he's been a busy person. His father is someone who works as a guard in a nearby hospital and always ends up being the one to close the place.
"Hey Dad, did something?" Ryuu was perplexed since his father often arrived late in order to provide for them.
Even though he is not around, his father always makes sure his present is felt and when they have time would do his best to make it memorable.
"Well son, the Hospital had been under investigation since dead bodies of people had recently gone missing."
This causes Ryuu to raise his brow before frowning as his intuition is screaming that it has to do with the supernatural. He thought about that woman, Trese, and her possible involvement in the case.
It was unfortunate that his Blood clone could only reach as far as 100 meters away from him before turning into a puddle of blood. He was worried about his father and the possibility of him getting hurt.
'I can't just ask my dad to stop working...shit now I'm anxious about everything.'
Ryuu now realizes the possibility of danger lurking everywhere without him knowing was terrifying. He had to calm himself and quickly find something in the store to protect his parents.
He frowned at the prize but bought the item as it was worth every point costing him a large number of points. Ryuu decided to use it later once they've gone asleep.
"You have to be careful, Dear. Those people might be hiding and could harm you." His mother worriedly said finding the situation to be suspicious.
"I know, but don't underestimate me, honey! This body of mine is just like a fine wine, it gets better with age. I mean look at our son, where do you think he got that from?" He proudly said flexing a bit of his buddy while his wife simply laughed it off.
"Clearly not from you, of course." She jokingly said while his husband flinched.
"What you're saying it's from you?" He asked, looking straight at her.
"Yeah, it's quite obvious."
His father smirked before pulling his lovely wife who yelped in surprise before receiving a kiss from him. Ryuu was unsure what to feel seeing both his parents kissing but felt happy that their love was still strong even after staying in poverty.
"That's why I've married you, woman. It's been a while since I've been this early. Why don't we have sex tonight?"
Ryuu cursed his newly enhanced senses for picking up the thought of his parents banging each other. He tried to ignore them trying to eat, removing the horrid image from his mind.
"Oh right, son, how's Justine? Any plans on bringing her again?"
"Yeah, she's a lovely lady even though a bit tomboyish. Any plans on dating her."
He almost choked from his mother's words since he never planned on dating Justine as she's been a friend to her rather than a potential girlfriend.
Furthermore, Ryuu never planned on dating anyone at the moment because he felt that it would cause more financial problems for his family but that was in the past when they lacked money.
Now that he had acquired a large stack of cash and was soon to be rich if he played his card right.
"I'm not too sure. I've recently thought about it but you know she's a great friend and unsure how things will go if I suddenly change it." Ryuu is reluctant to change their status since it might cause some rift between them and he is not sure if she likes him or not.
"Are you kidding? I mean look at you son? No woman would pass you now."
His mother felt proud seeing how handsome his son had suddenly become and wondered how he could unexpectedly change. Ryuu wasn't that ugly only average and had increased his charm using the cleansing pill.
"Hahaha Son, remember that there is no such thing as Trying. It's either do or don't. So if you're going to do it then do it."
Ryuu took his father's advice to heart and saw things through. It made him extremely thoughtful for the future.
His intuition normally is in a scramble with his emotion for being uncertain but now it was reacting completely differently than before. He could feel his intuition telling him to date Justine and to his surprise.

Ryuu flabbergasted upon seeing the text in front of him. He immediately uses his High-speed thoughts processing trying to understand what's going on.
'What the Hell!? I wanted a harem but not like this!?'
He couldn't believe that the system was forcing him to basically have his best friend and cheat on her!
Ryuu only sees it as a fantasy that he won't ever fulfill and yet his system wants him to create a harem with his childhood friend who would likely disagree if he accepted.
'Does she even like me?'
He got along with her but Justine never gave any sign that showed that she had feelings for him.
Not to mention, Ryuu is inexperienced in romances and most he saw was from anime that doesn't follow the same logic as real life.
'I guess I'll go on a date for now and see if she really likes me.'
Ryuu wasn't even looking at the reward and simply contemplating the consequences of his decision if he took the path that the system made for him.
Would their relationship be the same if he suddenly went and cheated on her once they're together? Would she accept it?
Maybe with the Harem Protagonist Halo but he doesn't want to rely on it simply because he respects his childhood friend and doesn't want to use it to his advantage.
'Whatever happens, I'll let future me handle it for now I'll ask her on a date.' Ryuu decided on his first step and his father noticed his reaction calle out his name.
"Son, are you alright?" His father's voices took him out of his trance.
"Ah, I was just thinking. Maybe I'll invite her to hang out and see how things go. Anyway, let's stop talking about me."
He felt awkward having a discussion about his love life with his parents. After having their dinner Ryuu waited for his parents to finally be in deep sleep before sneaking into their beds.
"Hope this protects them. I doubt there would be monsters capable of destroying a large building but it should be enough."

The cost had him nearly empty his points but it was worth it as the effect doesn't have a time limit and activates when the person is in danger and would alert him.
He would now rest easy knowing that they would be safe without him trying to spy on them.
Ryuu ponder the cost of [ Long Distance Control ] which is similar skills to [ Telekinesis ] with only difference is that so long it recognize as part of the body then it able to be manipulate similar to a zombie moving severed hands.
The skills originated from Vandalieu's, more specifically Lambda, and was an Undead and Ghost exclusive ability that the Dhampir was able to learn due to the nature of his magic.
It cost quite a lot, around a few thousand points. He decided to focus more on upgrading his [ Blood Magic ] than adding more skills when he hadn't even reached a proficient level.
Ryuu smiled, leaving his parents sleeping before heading to bed. The next day, he checked his phone and was surprised at what greeted him.
[ Justine: Hey man want to hang out? It's about our School project and also I'll be getting my payment for helping you last Friday. You should treat me today. ]
