99 Chapter 94 - I am a predator
Standing before them were hideous creatures that were more terrifying than the Oni from the Demon slayer world. However, their aroma seems far from the abilities comparable to canon fodder demons.
Trese prepared herself to fight standing her ground while Ryuu pondered how much added strength he would acquire by devouring them.
"Have you forgotten the accord of my father!?"
"That does not apply here as he had been dead and soon you as well. Take the girls and if they try to resist, kill them."
They were slowly approaching them as Trese held her knife ready to fight but Ryuu blocked her and confused Trese in the process.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm curious to test something. Let me handle them."
Ryuu summoned his [ Nichirin chain blade ] , testing if this kind of weapon and materials were useful against the supernatural. The creature or Aswang halted in fear as they saw him twirl the chain around before grabbing it and taking a deep breath.
He produces a sound reminiscence of kettle as Ryuu looks at each of them before throwing the blade and stabbing through two of the Aswang.
"Sixth form - Raging Blizzard"
After being struck by the blade and soon spun around like a ragdoll using the chain before slamming into the ground with a power flick. The Aswang was unable to get closer as he pulled the weapon and changed his stance.
"Fourth Form - Black plague."
The Aswang heads and limbs were sliced cleanly without them realizing as their loss were pulled by a tendrils into Ryuu's body. His biomass was rapidly increasing and felt the small increase in his strength.
'So I only gain at most a 5% increase for every absorption I do? It's probably because they're weak.'
Ryuu didn't feel any disappointment since they were just cannon fodder as he held the leader by the neck gazing with his red needy eyes, throwing away the mask since he just wanted to have fun.
"W-Who or what are you!? Killing me won't do anything!!"
"On the contrary there is."
It was at that moment an image of his face with more eyes appearing like Alucard from hellsing as the Aswang slowly absorbed into his body. Ryuu used his magic to control the remaining corpse and absorbed it into his body.
He could feel his body changing and reconstructing itself that made him smile in delight. The [ Blacklight Virus ] evolved the more biomass it consumed removing unnecessary things and increasing the positive traits for survival.
Then the sound of someone crashing from above and saw the twin preparing to help only to see nothing was there.

"I was just itching to gun down some Aswang!"
"Too bad boy's but he already finished them off….what did you do to Aswang?"
"I am a predator, my body is 'flesh that hates' which is why I absorb their body. Their corpse would have been wasted and it's the predator's job to consume everything as a respect to their prey."
Ryuu bluntly said, copying the words of Rou from Re:monster who is eating to devour if he gets the chance. Trese felt slightly disturbed by his words but shook her head since she has met people with more twisted minds than him.
Though, it's true that in a strange way respect them by absorbing them rather than wasting away.
"Well we should start releasing the people."
He reminded them as they helped the people in the cages while the police soon arrived where they assisted the traumatized people. Captain Guerrero was asking them and was shock by their answer despite being informed by Trese it was the Aswang.
"They were hypnotized by me and changed their memories. It would be unpleasant if they were traumatized by the truth."
"That's highly appreciated, young man."
Ryuu nodded in amazement that he didn't even question him and appreciated his courtesy. He turned to Trese who seemed bothered by something.
"You look troubled."
"...I just thought that if I had sooner than I could have saved more lives."
"You shouldn't be troubled by it. Whatever you do there's always people you won't be able to save. Right now, right here people will continue to perish and wither…."
Trese listened to his words thinking that his words were true and recalled her father that had died a few years ago.
"Therefore, only think about the present rather than the past or future. The past we can't change, the future we never know but the present is the only one we should focus on."
Ryuu said leaving an impression on her without even realizing it. There's always been bothering her that was lifted by her words. It was a prophecy about the sixth child of the Sixth child where she was supposed to be the one who brought about the end of other realms.
"Now I want to ask if I could be officially part of your group?"
"Yes, you've proven that you're not a threat to us after showing what you're capable of. Come to buy the Diabolical after a few days then I'll give you a book regarding the supernatural."

Ryuu smirked, finishing his quest at the right time, deciding it was time to return back and rest as the sun started to rise.
"Well then I'll return a few days from now."
He soon walked away in the alley and Trese tried following but found nothing was there. She was surprised and walked back while looking at the sun with a single thought.
'I wonder if his present is a good thing or not.'

While Ryuu was returning to his home when someone leaped into the air and made him instinctively catch the person. He frown looking at the person
"Nezuko, why did you leap in the air? You could have hurt someone."
He doubts that Nezuko could get hurt from a fall but is bothered by if someone else were caught in her action. She only giggled in response as Ryuu continued to frown.
"Well how was your night?"
"It's been great and I learned a few things. Have you girls had breakfast yet?"
Ryuu places her down as the two head their way to the mansion where the girls quickly walk there to him as he arrives. Justine was there as she spent the night with him and he had decided to make the time match his world whenever he goes out as requested by his wife.
They sat down to have breakfast as Ryuu prepared pancakes for his gluttonous unofficial concubine. His woman was correct as he was unaware of why he was eager to make her happy. Karma is truly a b*tch.
"Are you going to send it to Lucifer?"( Jusinte )
"I don't think it's good for her to only eat pancakes three times a day." ( Kie )
"Well she's a Demon with a strong body that's why I doubt she'll die from simple diabetes."( Shinobu )
"Why is it bad when it is tasty?" (Kanae)
"Good luck, Ryuu, now you have two pancake lovers."( Nezuko )
Ryuu wryly smiles from her remark as he places some ramen bowls at the tables.
"What did you find about the supernatural?"( Mitsuri )
"Few things but I feel that it's on the surface level. According to Trese-"
"Is it a woman?"
".....Y-Yes, why did you ask?"
"Nothing, continue."
Ryuu confused, tilting his head before continuing his explanation of what they found about the supernatural. They were surprised about the mention of gods and ways to travel to the afterlife.
"Do you need help?"( Shinobu )
"None for now, My Perfect clone is almost finished with buying a clinic for you and Kanae. It's close to the restaurant I bought."
"That's a great thing to hear! I always wanted to try working at a ramen restaurant."( Mitsuri )
"When will we open the restaurant? Tanjiro and Kanao and Aoi are eager to help run the restaurant." ( Kie )
Tanjiro and his lover were informed about the truth but since they are more mature to understand his word they would be able to keep it a secret.
"Perhaps on Monday but in the afternoon as we have our first semester final test that day."
Ryuu didn't need to but still did out of respect for his parents and wanted to enjoy school life before focusing on his work.
"I'm glad to have this magic of mine! Studying became a lot easier!"
Justine exclaimed since the more the mind was stressed the better it performed once relaxed. It made her easily understand and remember everything. After their breakfast, Ryuu opened the chat group to see if some of them were open.
