Chapter 16

"START !!" Delphyne bellows. Blake wastes no time and aims straight for Davids face with a strong right hook, David easily dodges him by ducking and sliding behind him. David quickly follows up by stomping on the back of Blakes ankle, after David immediately backs away anticipating the second punch Blake tried to get in. Blake is struggling to put weight on the ankle David hit.

"One hit is that all it takes to slow you down, i'm a little disappointed now" David smirks at him.

"No way in hell, i'm just taking it easy on you. Guess i'll take it seriously now"Blake blurts back, David scoffs and signals him to come at him. Blake rushes forward at David, again David quickly dodges and lands a couple of well placed punches in Blakes ribs and on the back of his neck. Blake lets out pained groan, and stumbles a bit. David bends down and brushes off his trousers.

"LESSON 1, Brute strength is not everything in a fight" David announces.

"What does he mean, sure he got in a few good shots but Blake is not loosing yet he doesn't even look that injured?" I hear a warrior question.

"Just wait and watch, you may learn something" I tell the warrior. Blake stumbles and faces David who has stood back up as well. Blake is looking angry now, his eye keep flicking between brown and black a sure sign his demon is coming out. David smiles at this.

"Come on demon, can't you beat an insignificant human like me, you put you race to shame" David taunts him. Blake eyes go completely black and he charges at David with rage, David suddenly throws sand into Blakes eyes and jumps up onto his back, he pulls out a dagger he had hidden in his sleeve and holds it to Blakes throat.

"LESSON 2, Never let anger control you in a fight. Do you yield ?" He asks Blake who is still blind because of the sand.

"I yield, but please explain how you won that" Blake seems stunned and a little disappointed.

"David why don't you help sort him out, I know you did more damage than just blinding, I'll explain why you do" I tell him, David nods and starts to help Blake and look him over.

"Okay warriors so Lesson 1, Brute strength is not everything there where two point to this first you would have noticed the strikes David managed to get in ..."

"Yeah but they were weak they did nothing to Blake?" A warrior bursts out, I hold my hand up to him.

"Please don't interrupt me I will explain if you let me." I give him a warning look.

"As I was saying those strikes did lots of damage, David was targeting weak point in Blakes body. By my count Blake has a fractured Achilles heel, Broken ribs and a displaced disc in his spine on his neck. All of these injuries would off slowed Blake down and caused him lots of pain, that would also serve to make him angry and distract him. The other point is that David used strategy Blake was only using strength, a good strategy can win you almost any battle. Now lesson 2 was the most important part of the strategy the whole way through the fight David taunted Blake, this along with the pain he was experianceing made him so angry he lost control and became blind to what David was doing. David bent down to wipe his trousers and as he did he picked up the sand. If Blake hadn't of been so angry he might off seen what was happening and in a fight like this Blake could off won if he drew out the fight, David needed it over fast so he made Blake angry. But I have a lesson 3 for all of you ...." I look around at all the warriors.

"NEVER underestimate your opponent no matter who they are" I stare at each of them.

"This fight was won the minute Blake did not take David a serious threat, David is one of our most talented strategists and you are foolish to think he won't uses every trick in the book against you" I smile at all of them, I look at David and bow my head to him in respect.

"Alright you lot, Now time for my treat, you all get to pick two of us to fight each other. Then you can see a real fight" Delphyne announces, the warriors start to talk amongst themselves. I curios to see who they choose. One warrior walks forward.

"We pick commander 201, we don't see him fight that often" everyone seems happy with this choice, most of all 201.

"I suggest the queen against him" suddenly there is silence as everyone starts at the boy who said that. Turns out to be Even who I helped earlier.

"No I can't allow that pick another" Lestat commands

"Its fine, they have never seen me fight properly" I tell lestat. 201 walks over to me along with the other Deputies.

"My queen you know what happens when you fight, its not good for you. 201 is a wolf as well it would feel like back then ..." I stop Madock form saying more.

"I know you all want to protect me but I can handle this, and if I can't you will pull me out before it's to late. 201 what do you say, shall we fight like old times?" I smile at him, he lets out a sigh and looks at me.

"If you are okay with it, but I will stop as soon as I see you slipping" I nod at him.

"Okay lets get this going then" I announce, it's been to long since I had a good fight.
