I was sitting there in silence. I knew it was getting late and I don't know my exact way back. I ignored that and thought about my life in general. Just a few years ago I was happy with both my mom and dad. A best friend, a boyfriend I loved wholeheartedly. A cute teacher I crushed badly on. Then, everything changed from better to worse.

"Everyone knows what?"

"That you are Alexa. The chosen one," he joked and I stared at him with a raised eyebrow. Something about his voice drew me to him. I could listen to him talk the whole day.

"Chosen One?"

"Yeah. That's why I had to keep you company," he said and I looked at the flowing water. I smiled at his choice of words. Keep me company huh?

"So you are talking to me now cause I am 'the chosen one ' somehow?" he laughed and shook his head. Getting comfortable next to me. He had moved close to me, our shoulders were touching but I didn't mind. I wanted to blend into him cause of the way this stranger was making me feel... It was beyond my words to explain.

"I'm talking to you cause you are my chosen one," I looked into his eyes and he laughed. I made a confused face and he laughed even more. He pointed his phone at me and took a picture. My confusion grew some more, his laughter grew louder.

"Your face is priceless," I rolled my eyes and looked back at the river.

"There is no such thing as the chosen one," I told him and he smiled. He took my hand and started tracing the lines on my palm. Tingles shot through my entire hand and I almost pulled away but the feeling was just so good that it pulled me in more.

"You gonna live a long life," he said and I chuckled knowing that was a lie. No one can live passed 120. Unless they are dogs like him or non-humans.

"Oh yeah? How long is long life?"

"Eternity," he said and I giggled. I didn't realize that we were so close now. I could just move in and we would kiss. Or if he leaned in, we would kiss.

I stopped laughing and looked into his eyes. He stared into mine and slowly leaned in. I felt his breath on my face so I shut my eyes. Our lips were almost touching when my phone rang. It was mom so I answered.

"Mom?"

"Honey, it's late. Where are you?" I looked around me and saw that it was almost dark.

"I will be there in a few," with that, I hung up and started walking away. The guy followed me and I smiled without looking back at him. He was tall. Taller than Camryn or my ex. I smiled when I saw his chest. He had moobies.

"What are you doing?" he asked with a playful tone and my eyes went wide. I stared at my hands that were poking his moobies.

"They are open," he laughed and I rolled my eyes. How come no one said I could attend? Do they get that I need to socialize? Even if it's with a bunch of dogs.

"Do you think my boobs are small?" he turned to me causing me to bump into his chest. I didn't step back, he didn't either. I stood there, staring up at him.

"They are fine," he said without looking down at them. I sighed and walked ahead of him. He walked next to me within a second.

We continued our walk back home in silence. When we got near my house, he bowed his head and kept quiet. I could sense the tension as people gave us odd stares. Even in the dim light, I could see the disgust painted on their faces.
