6 Chapter 6

Okita PoV

After Yasaka gave me all of the locations where some of the more famous blacksmiths worked, I quickly snuck out.

I couldn't deal with those two's constant teasing. Sigh. It is odd. This is the first moment I got to myself since my transmigration. Honestly it has been quite the wild ride. First, I get thrusted into a dying person's body, next I have to have a fight to the death and then I get genderbent!

Like seriously, what the hell! I mean it isn't like I am mad that I am a female now, but I just find it highly unusual.

For starters what is it that I want to do with this new life exactly? I could just try to relax, or I could try and achieve something?

All I know is that I adored Okita Souji and the way she lived her life. Full of passion chasing down the things she loved. So why don't I do the same? I love the sword. And I believe I could come to love some of the people who have barged into my life all of a sudden.

The Shinsengumi and Serafall are just the first of hopefully many. I should probably stop by the Shinsengumi headquarters and see how they are doing. I haven't even put in a resignation notice yet.

Laughing at the oddity of it all I accidentally knocked somebody over.

"Oh my! I am so sorry." I looked down and saw a small little wolf girl youkai. She had silver hair and pretty blue eyes.

I quickly snatched her off the ground and started to pat off the dust that got attached to her kimono.

"Sorry about that! Are you alright?" I asked worriedly, as I squatted down next to her. She had to be 6-7 years old.

She gave me a look over, before she dove into my arms with starry eyes.

"Waah! Onee-San! You are so pretty!" She called out in childish glee.

"Wawawaw!?" I sputtered.

O-Onee-San???

"P-Please dont call me that!" I barely squeaked out. A smile slowly stretched itself across my face,

"Ehhh? Why? You seem to enjoy it Onee-San!" She jumped off and started to circle around me.

"Because! I said so!" Standing up I tried to give her a stern look...But completely failed with the look she was giving me.

"Nee~ Onee-San I havent seen you before! Are you new?" She asked.

Sigh well at the very least I could adhere to hear questions so she will leave me alone. Definitely not so she will call me Onee-San some more.....Definetly not!

"No, I am just visiting." I gave a polite reply as I started to walk.

"Hmm...Then I will show you around!" Running up to me she grabbed my hand and started to lead me around. Honestly, I could have just stopped her but, I might as well have some fun.

"Well at least tell me your name." I said with a smile.

"My name is Rei! Come on Onee-San, they are giving out samples at the market right know!" Looking up she gave me her name, before she started to tug my hand in a certain direction.

"Haha! Alright, alright! Lets go." Well I deserve some fun right? I mean what is the worst that could happen?

-----

Rei had led me around for well over 3 hours. She took me to the market, and I got a sense for how the trade works for the youkai market. They mostly ate rice and fish for their foodstuff and a couple of vegetables.

There were also premade swords their but nothing that would hold up for me. Then Rei took me to see all of the beautiful sights. There were multiple shrines and tori gates for all of the Shinto gods. As well as some beautiful waterfalls and Sakura trees.

The whole trip made me feel as if I was in my past life, and finally had gotten to visit Japan like I had wanted. I will have to ask Yasaka if I can come back sometime.

Slowly the sun started to go down, and night graced the land. The bountiful market slowly died down as everyone went home. Looking down Rei was still holding tightly to my hand as she rubbed her eyes with the other.

Giving her a small smile, I lifted her up onto my shoulder.

"Whoa! Onee-San!" She called out.

"Well, it is the least that I could do after you showed me around. I didn't see any blacksmiths, but I will look for some tomorrow. Thank you, Rei." I think I needed this. So, with a happy smile I started to walk in the residential direction.

"Oh! Onee-San my father is a blacksmith!" She suddenly exclaimed. "He would totally make you the best sword ever!"

"Really?" How lucky.

"Yeah! Let's go! That way!" She started to tug on my hair.

"Haha! Alright settle down." I headed in the direction she was pointing.

It didn't take long to reach her neighborhood were Rei lived. She hopped off my shoulders and started to head to the house where smoke was billowing out.

"Come on were all most there." She giggled as she broke off into a run.

"Yeah I am right behind you." Following after her I took a glance at the house.

It was an eastern design with what I could. Most likely had sliding doors and a pond to. However, before I could admire it anymore their nameplate caught my attention.

[Kanemoto Family]

Dread started to fill my stomach faster than I could believe it. Just to be sure I opened my mouth and slowly asked Rei.

"Rei....what is your full name?" I asked hesitantly.

"Hmmm? Kanemoto Rei! My father named both me and my brother, so our names sound the same! My mother wasnt to happy though" She said excitedly.

But I couldn't move. There was a knot in my throat that stopped me from speaking.

Kanemoto Rei, a cute Wolf youkai that showed me around Urakyoto.

And Kanemoto Rae, a rampaging Wolf youkai that I had slain with my own sword.
