5 Chapter 5: Kimonos

After such a day which included travelling for nearly two hours without stopping because of his bastard of a father order. Joaquin merely wanted to change his clothes and go take a nap.

"Calyx," Joaquin called and the male entered his bedroom after standing outside at the door.

"Yes, Young Master?" Calyx bowed before straightening up, looking at the male who called him after his eyes roamed the room with a fleeting glance. Looking for anything that may cause danger to his master. Upon finding nothing, his sapphire eyes returned to Joaquin with an emotionless glint.

"My clothes?" Joaquin lazily raised his brow as he sat in his chair, with a lazy slouch, his eyes barely looking at his bodyguard as he spoke.

"I'll go get them, Young Master," Calyx went out of the room before returning with a suitcase and all of Joaquin's bags. "And get me something to eat, I'm starving," Joaquin muttered, waving Calyx away as he stood to stretch.

"Young master, where should I go for food?" Calyx asked, his sapphire orbs watching Joaquin probingly. Joaquin's lips twitched as he looked at the male with so much disdain that his lilac eyes darkened a bit.

"Never mind," Joaquin rolled his lilac-coloured eyes, "I am going to take a bath… don't disturb nor peep me!"

Calyx frowned as he protested, "I ought to protect Young Master. It is my duty."

"You blockhead!" Joaquin groaned, "Just leave, I will be fine!"

Calyx nodded, "Okay, Young Master." Calyx bowed before leaving the room under Joaquin's dark purple orbs. As the door closed behind him, Joaquin sighed in relief, "Fuck! Thought, he would never leave." Joaquin groaned, bending to open the suitcase.

But… his lips twitched as he assisted the clothes in the suitcase. The anger made him see red as rage engulfed his entire soul making him want to kill Calyx and send his soul to the fourth layer of hell.

In the suitcase, it was filled with neatly folded kimonos. Joaquin's lips twitched, "This is what I get for being lazy," Joaquin muttered bitterly, his eyes blazing with hot anger as he took deep breaths. Standing, Joaquin took out a towel from the cupboard in the bedroom as he entered the connected bathroom.

"And who the fuck wears kimonos in this era…" he paused, "Well except that crazy father of mine." Joaquin snorted entering the shower after he stripped his clothes.

Under the warm water, Joaquin relaxed his muscles. Looking around the shower, he spotted the products he used in the mansion back in Country S, and he tsked. "Guess that bastard called my father wanted to get rid of me a long time ago." Rolling his eyes, he took the bottle squeezing the liquid soap on his hair.

Joaquin washed his hair, he allowed the water to flow down his body before he exited. Looking around the room, he sighed in relief not seeing that annoying bodyguard of his. With a smug smile, he entered the bedroom. However, his eyes landed on the suitcase filled with kimonos and his eyes twitched as the anger that made his face red came back. Tensing his lips into a straight line, Joaquin walked over to the closet adjacent to his bed.

Opening it, he sighed in relief seeing the clothes he was used to. Drying his skin, Joaquin hopped in a pair of denim jeans and a white button-up shirt, putting on some deodorant and perfume. He exited the room, seeing Calyx standing at his door with a body-length plastic bag, his lips twitched.

"What now?" He asked, eyes watching Calyx with faint hatred and anger. Calyx on the receiving end of his glare blinked, "Young Master, your uniform."

Joaquin paused, "What?" He watched the bag in disbelief.

Thinking, Joaquin did not hear him, Calyx repeated, "Young Master, this is your school uniform."

"I heard you the first time, you fool!" Joaquin snapped and Calyx blinked. "Okay, Young Master, where to put it?"

Joaquin sneered, "Throw it on my bed." He waved his hands lazily. Calyx nodded, "Okay, Young Master." He complied and entered the room, leaving Joaquin outside. Bored, Joaquin walked out of his dorm with a yawn. "Lock the door and let's go," Joaquin muttered as his ears faintly picked up Calyx's silent footsteps.

Calyx paused lightly before he nodded. "Okay, Young Master."

Joaquin hummed, "Good." He walked away, heading to the elevator as Calyx followed him silently from behind. Joaquin stood at the elevator doors as if waiting for something, with a twitch on his lips. He turned and looked at Calyx.

"Press the button!" He rolled his eyes as his lips curled down into a frown. Calyx nodded, "Yes, Young Master." He pressed the elevator button, and the doors opened with a light ding. Entering the elevator, Joaquin tucked his hands in his jeans pocket. Feeling his wallet, he thought… I should go to the mall.

He looked up as the elevator doors opened, reaching the lobby. Joaquin stepped out and Calyx followed him.

"Calyx," Joaquin called.

Calyx looked at the slender back of his master as he opened his mouth to utter, "Yes, Young Master?"

"Do you know how to drive?" Joaquin asked, his lilac eyes watching his bodyguard keenly.

Calyx nodded, "Yes, Young Master."

Joaquin hummed, "Okay… good to know." He laughed lightly, Calyx watched him in confusion before he simply nodded not knowing what to say.

As they exited the building where Joaquin stayed. Joaquin stood, looking around at the grand exaggerated design of the compound and sighed. "What a luxury," he tsked, walking on the smooth stone road to reach the exit of the school.

Seeing the familiar gates, Joaquin exited the school compound. Unlike the seaside of County X which was fiercely populated with foreigners. In Mystic Isle, the primate city of the country, mostly people of mixed cultures were seen. This was because, in the late 1980s, the ancestors of the varying Yakuzas decided to sign a treaty of having so-called peace in this country. Hence, Mystic Isle over the years, developed into a multi-cultural city.

Therefore, many people here were of mixed races. Joaquin's eyes fluttered to an African female, "What a pretty girl," he muttered, before turning his head to walk down the pavement near the school. Traffic in Mystic Isle was always busy and crime in the city may seemed to be nonexistent but Joaquin knew of what darkness populated this beautiful city.

After all, he is involved in it. With a happy hum, Joaquin walked for about twenty minutes before he arrived at the most expensive mall in Mystic Isle operated by his family. With a light smirk, Joaquin stood at the door and the blockhead of his silent bodyguard stood behind him. Holding the bridge of his nose, he called the name of the bodyguard behind him. "Calyx…" He gritted.

Calyx looked at his Young Master, "Yes… young master?"

"The door," Joaquin forced the words out of his lips as his lilac eyes blazed with slowly rising explosive anger.

Calyx watched the door a bit before he looked at Joaquin in confusion, "What about it, Young Master?"

Joaquin almost fainted from anger as he panted heavily but luckily for Calyx. The door was pulled open by an employee who happened to see the boss' son outside the glass doors.

"Young Master," the employee called, with a bright smile on his face. Joaquin looked at the male, "You're promoted." He nodded, entering the mall and leaving the male employee questioning what he did to get promoted. Nevertheless, he was happy.
