"Hello Lady Ash. Miss Isabella is in the garden if you are looking for her."

Ash just smiled her thanks and went to the garden. She felt the gift in her pocket and happily went to the entrance.

But what she saw and heard there forever changed her life from that point.

A major time skip:

"The Mary's Academy ....." a girl said. "You understand your dad would be quite sad if he found out you groaning on your first day in the academy.", A voice quipped from the side of the young woman.

The stated young woman, still facing forward, returned the statement back, " Well, you should know by now, Ashton, that I'm here and because of that, Father conceded to let you join with me."

Hearing this, the young lady twirled on her heel and looked at the person beside her. With eyes thinned and lips pursed, she stomped forward in silence towards the doors of the Academy. The person just watched at the reactions of the lady with an imperceptible exhale and went to catch up to her.

The crowd kept moving in and out of the academy. Once in a while, a shout rang in the air. Suddenly a loud noise attracted the attention of the on goers.

"MAKE WAY! MAKE WAY! Don't just keep standing over there amid the road, you bastard. MOVE I said.", a rather crude man was roaring at the entrance of the Academy.

"Must you use such ugly words in Mistress' presence, Igor?" A smooth sound rang behind the seething man.

"Humph.." Igor scoffed and flashed his whip with force. "And must you always lecture me whenever I do something?"

"You...….. just keep your manners. That's all Igor."

"Why has the carriage stopped, Frank? Have we reached the Academy?" said a melodious voice. An onlooker glanced at the carriage and felt blessed by the sight of a fairy resting in the carriage. The bewitching beauty entrapped the guy out there. But shortly cut off from the view by the maid beside that beauty.

Frank responds, "Nothing much, My Lady, just Igor being his normal self. And Yes we have reached the Academy like you said,"

The carriage door opens, the maid got out presented her hand to assist her Mistress in getting off.

Someone, then pointed out the symbol, itched on the carriage. "It's the Arden family." Soon a mummer went around the crowd.

"So it was true that the young miss of Arden family will join the Academy!"

"Wahhhhhh! Such a beauty!" a boy exclaimed from the side.

"Thank you Jane." said the lady, getting down from the carriage. "It's my duty My Lady. There's no need to thank me.", the maid said and stood aside for the Mistress to move ahead.

The pair went ahead and the other pair of the driver and the helper went on the way to park the carriage on its spot. The lady went ahead of the maid and the maid was reading aloud the schedule of the day.

"My Lady, you have a meeting with the Vice principle of the Academy. And then there's only a single class for today.", Jane said after reading the sheet. "I think it is an introduction class, so there's no need for you to attend it today."

" Jane, as much as I would like to skip them, I can't. I have to set an exemplary image for the sake of my family and who knows, I might even find some friends over there." said the soothing voice.

With no answer from the maid, they went to the waiting room where the Vice principle of the Academy was waiting for them to come. As soon as they turned around the corner, they met with a girl and a boy.

The girl was visibly angry, and the boy was trying to soothe her down. They couldn't hear what they were saying, but soon saw the boy take the girl in his arms and simply hug her. The girl finally relented and put her arms around him. They left the area just as the pair reached the door, as they noticed their surroundings.

Jane knocked on the door to announce their arrival and meanwhile the Lady was looking towards the back of the pair going away, "How nice is it to have friends like that?". a sound of My Lady broke her train of thought and she entered the room.

"Ashton, tell me once again, why do I have to sit through this idiotic class for an entire hour?" said the slumped girl from the table.

"Because of the attendance and also your father said so." came the reply upright student beside her.

"Haish!!!!!!!!! Ashton it was a rhetorical question." said the girl grumbling, " You didn't have to actually answer it. You Dumdum!"

"...April, you can't just keep on grumbling the whole day, you know. If you keep quite like the good girl you are, i might take you to your favourite place. What do you say? Huh? You want to go or not?"

"OKAY! only because you said that you'll take me there. Not because you said that, I'm a good girl, ok." April sat up properly and paid attention to what the teacher was saying in the class.

"... your fifth period will be sword and archery and sixth period will be of magic and medicine. Any changes to be made to your schedule please contact the administration. Now then that these are out of the way, you students can leave the class and go back to your dorms. Tomorrow will e your first class at 8o'clock. please be on time. If not, tardy marks will be added to your performance sheet. Dismissed."

Murmurs and shuffling of the students were clear in the class, as all of them were in a hurry to meet with their new friends outside the Academy grounds. April also stood up and waited as Ashton went on leisurely.

" Hurry! I wanna eat some ice cream! hurryyyyyyyyyy you slow poke!" said April and dashed forward to the door of the classroom. Chuckling, Ashton just hummed and strode to the door and the pair went to the market street near the Academy.
