Chapter 1: Spice and Honey...

Inside the conference room, came the thunderous flapping of pages being turned, constant buzzing from the ACs, the apt clattering of the keyboard, and the feeling of gloom eddied in the air.

"Profits are deemed useless if the company goes bankrupt, you can't just sit there and do nothing or pretend nothing is happening" Wei Lanzhan corrected as his patience was sapping. He was one of the directors in the corporation, but also the president's uncle.

The advisable chairman nodded and spoke decisively "Mr. Wei is right, our new motor products are being disfavored in the market and this may have a terrible impact on the producers and workers who labored day and night...it would appear their exertions weren't appreciated"

"Yes! Yes! The shareholders are again going to concoct a scene if this isn't relaxed"

Han Yufan predicted such a reaction, however, what distressed him more was the negative expression on his boss' face. He had attempted to tame the board of directors but his simple measures boomeranged. The president could explode in no time, so he had to come up with a solution as briskly as possible.

"The problem is temporary" He publicized turning his head to the LED projector screen hanging by the wall, where a series of administration charts and data was exhibited. The board observed the data on the screen, while Wei Lanzhan glanced straight at his nephew sitting indifferently as if the analysis didn't matter to him. He was about to speak up when Han Yufan cleared "Here we can see the data of the new engine and its importance in the market. Yes!! It's not as we expected but it's still better than nothing. Expensive motors are the amplest rate in the market, where even smaller companies take liberties over. We are not them because we have been in this industry for a long time, so I hope we can try to calm our nerves down and wait some more time"

The advisable chairman smiled "I heard a lot of smaller companies went out of dealings due to the massive retail chains" His lips widened as he commented satisfactorily "Those cowards!!"

Han Yufan stole a quick look at his boss but his expression was still unwavering. At least this time his plan succeeded.

"President Wei, any suggestions to..."

Sitting majestically on the upper seat, opening to the large table was the cold-hearted President, Wei Yuze, the most searched influencer and award-winning youngest tycoon in the A-list of the world's greatest businessmen. A better representative of the presidential post when Wei corporation was in crisis and the head chairman couldn't do anything. A man of great virtue and importance but three years back, an uneventful impact took a toll on his life.

Wei Yuze knitted his left brow exceedingly "The best solution is to wait" he emitted coldly. Han Yufan finally sighed and took a deep breath.

"I suppose the meeting is of no use anymore" The boards all twirled their heads in surprise due to the president's austere words. They could not help stealing glances at one another.

Meanwhile, Wei Lanzhan frowned in dissatisfaction but said nothing and left the room. The boards followed after in a little chat.

Han Yufan coughed "President Wei, your next schedule is..."

"Cancel them..."

"2:30...wait huh?" The assistant was flabbergasted. Why? Because his boss was a very consistent person, who'd always make sure everything went according to schedule.

"Cancel all my schedule for today" Wei Yuze repeated. He rested his elbow on the arm of the chair and leaned against the length to relax his body from the hectic controversy that consumed his energy.

Han Yufan was confused "But, why? There's a meeting with the international footballers..."

"Are they more important than my health?" He sounded displeased "If you are so energetic, then go in my stead"

The poor assistant bit his lips for the mistake he made "I am sorry" he apologized sincerely and turned to leave but then the buzz of his silenced phone stopped him. He tried to see his boss's expression but opposed it and sorted his phone from his pocket. He saw the notification from the employees' group and clicked on it. That very moment, a loud squeak echoed from a distance outside the door. Han Yufan looked frightened and pondered why an employee would scream like that. Wasn't she afraid of the consequences and to top it all, the president was...

"What are you still doing standing over there? Get the hell out and hand her the resignation documents" Wei Yuze muttered in a groggy voice. He rubbed the spaces between his temple and continued" In fact, empty this floor"

"SHE-IS-BACK. MY ROLE MODEL IS FINALLY BACK"

Wei Yuze frowned at the indirect disrespect to him. Han Yufan pocketed his phone in a hurry without having to look at the messages in the group.

"How are you performing the role of an assistant?" Wei Yuze complained brutally as he was now standing intimate with Han Yufan. The latter sighed and apologized.

"I wonder where father got those goats from, to work as my employees, " He buttoned the cuffs of his maroon shirt and commented once more that Han Yufan felt earpanned "Being buddies with the President is a huge privilege"

Han Yufan scoffed back "At least I don't have huge responsibilities on my shoulder, but look at you?"

"You want to die!" Wei Yuze threw a menacingly oriented dagger at the other man. Han Yufan raised his hands as he surrendered and chuckled "But you almost had me there when you made those bizarre expressions..." he mimicked "Are they more important than my health?"

"You really want to die, Yufan" Wei Yuze scowled, but it looked like the assistant was having fun as he continued to tease his president "Your health? More like spice and honey..."

Wei Yuze ran a hand threw his slicked hair, took another step towards the door, and left. Behind, Han Yufan smirked and shook his head.

"If only you could return to your former self"

Wei Yuze and Han Yufan have been friends for ages ago due to the odd connection between Wei elders and the Han household. The two didn't start as friends as they'd bicker and torment others when they are meters together. Strangely enough, these two suddenly started to click. They attended the same school from middle to college and studied the same business course. Wei Yuze was a cheerful person but when that incident happened, Han Yufan felt he had changed.

"CHUN HUA IS FINALLY BACK AND WITH A CUTE DAUGHTER"

Han Yufan went into a chronic shock that spread all over his body. Standing behind Wei Yuze, he could see his shivering and fisted hands. Time had gone fast and durable but the past didn't. A past that sticks with hunting one dream. Han Yufan seethed his teeth in irritation at the mention of that name.

Yet, that was the only name Wei Yuze could hear. She was back. His love, future, and life was finally back. After leaving on that faithful day without an explanation, she was finally back to give him one.
