Chapter 2
I was pretty sure he could see that there was a soothing yellow light at the top of the staircase that dispersed from my bathroom. The sound of a shower’s spray was louder there. The cop was familiar with the house, since he had played our game a few other times before, but still advanced with caution. There, on the second floor he passed an empty office, two vacant but nicely decorated bedrooms, and located a subject of interest: light seeping out of my bathroom at the other end of the short hall where I had slipped into a warm shower, and began to soap up my body.
