My Ideal Super Power

Taking a deep breath, I calmed my overactive mind and imagination, giving my thoughts structure and foundation, making sure that the idea which I had was refined and perfected such that there was no blind spot or any weakness. Making up my mind, and basically skipping in anticipation, I started writing my power.

I won't lie, I was a bit surprised when I could not find the keyboard, but finding out that it was thought based had been a discovery. After many rewrites and edits, the Super Power section of my screen now looked like this:

[Your Superpower: Conceptual Card Creation and Manipulation

You can convert concepts into cards and use them as you wish. Concepts can either be Copied or Extracted.

Concepts can be copied or extracted if the concept is unaware or no longer actively resists.

A concept which has been copied creates a conceptual card simply using the copy, leaving the original concept untouched.

A concept which has been extracted extracts the concept from reality and uses it to make the conceptual card, making it such that the concept no longer exists.

The Conceptual Cards can be Merged at your discretion, with your will imposed on them can lead to creation of a new card with the characteristics that you want.

A Conceptual Card is formed of a concept, but it can be Split into different components and hence into different Conceptual Cards as per your discretion.

All Conceptual Cards; copied, extracted, merged or split, you can Replicate them once.

Conceptual Cards creation and manipulation is a power unique to you, nobody other than you can know about, feel, see, or touch or use them, and they are bound to your soul.

You can remotely manipulate Conceptual Cards similar to telekinesis, but your range for the same depends on your soul strength; but Conceptual Card creation gradually improves your soul strength.

But your uniqueness comes at a cost;

Giving it a once over, I gave a satisfied smile for I was sure. This was perfect for me, and it was possibly the best power one could get! In the ruins below, I saw a burning card, and my thought immediately jumped to Card Creation. The best example of Card creation is obviously 'Card Apprentice Daily Log', but there there is an entire world existing on that system of power, with dungeons and shit providing materials required for card creation. Then the second best example, at least earlier was 'The Conceptual Deck', that is before the author decided to stick to honest earnings and wrote off stealing stuff to improve his power, while trying to survive in MARVEL!! Okayy, so yeah, merging these two concepts, plus adding to it a few modifications of my own, I was pretty much well-off, and confident to take on whatever this MQA threw at me. This was so because firstly, this is a matured power, i.e. here is no gestation period required before the power can be used. Secondly, it has immense potential as it can pretty much do anything. One must understand, concept is not defined and can be anything. It had potential to be overpowered, and was a scam. It actually depended on the World Will, and if it could evade her scrutiny. Technically speaking, this power was not the very best, like shadow manipulation or hydromancy, but it had a power steal kind of ability, with an inbuilt storage and master creator all built into one power. I could easily think of more than 200 situations where I could easily earn new powers, with even more possible experiments to try to check if my way of thinking would actually apply to my powers, providing a huge insight into the direction in which I could progress my powers.

Look at me! I mean, here I am, still floating, continuously re reading the power description to check for errors or mistakes, making sure there is no loophole or something which would come back to bite me in the ass, but I am thinking about the distant future, what powers I would steal, create and whatnot when all of this could be a very elaborate prank or dream, and I would wake up in my bed, facing the same monochrome reality.

Looking around for submit button, I was reminded once again that it possessed a thought based interface, with the moment the thought appeared in my mind, and the screen responded, suddenly displaying:

Idly wringing my hands in anticipation, I stood there relatively calm, trying to mask my anxiety and hoping for my gamble to pay off. I felt like a student on the day of the final results, waiting for the results which would validate an entire year worth of efforts. But my mischief was not completely managed, for the screen before me switched to:

Okay. Expected, but not something I cannot handle. This may make things a bit difficult, but still the impact is not much. Well, it actually depends on the world, but yeah. Something out of my control, so I'll wing it on the go.

With this message, the void around me started trembling, with something reminiscent of Bifrost striking the area where I stood and suddenly erupted with a blinding light, overcoming all my senses. Before I could regain my bearings, I suddenly found myself standing in a seemingly mysteriously whimsical place, and I describe the place as such because it seemed to defy the laws of physics and reality. Like there were fishes swimming in the air, with multiple colourful plants with ethereal flowers framing the entire place. There were mystical figures like dragons and phoenixes and other creatures belonging to fantasies, with large castles and palaces forming a spectacular backdrop. Just this was mind-blowing, but it at least confirmed to a particular fantasy theme, but there's more, mixed perfectly in between those castles and structures belonging to Fantasy were skyscrapers, futuristic buildings and technological masterpieces which belonged to cyberpunk times. If all this was not confusing enough, there were also characters, very much recognizable characters and from a lot of different places. There was Nurgle (Warhammer), Spiderman(MCU), Magneto(X-Men), Zeus(Percy Jackson), Thanos(MCU), Dumbledore(Harry Potter), Naruto(Naruto), Hermione(HP), Poseidon(PJO), Poseidon(Record of Ragnarok), and possible innumerable other characters from various other fictions. It was not more than a glimpse, but it was more than enough for me to understand that this was real, not some daydream or play of imagination. So lost in the surroundings I was that it was a while later that I realized I had a new screen in front of me.

I had no idea what happened, but I sure as hell was not complaining. Before I could actually comprehend the severity of my situation, of me getting an additional superpower, which was a huge benefit as compared to other rookies, I was once again hit by Bifrost. But this time, I was left in darkness, and it was here that the Rookie Rumble actually began.
