9 Training montage

(Odin POV)

"ENOUGH!", I heard the voice of Gaea behind me and both me and Ouranos stopped what we were doing.

"Gaea what are you doing here? I was just about to teach this youngling what it means to show elders some respect.", Ouranos said.

"What might I be doing in my home, Ouranos? And all you have been doing is destroying my home so far. Look around you. Fight somewhere else but don't do it here! Now leave, before I have to be the mother here.", Gaea says using her powerful presence to get her point across.

"Fine! But this isn't over, godling. The sky is my domain, you better remember that.", Ouranos says and leaves reluctantly. This leaves me with Gaea who is looking at the damage caused by our short confrontation. Luckily I was on the top of this mountain, so the damage wasn't that big.

Gaea waved her hand and the land began to restore itself. I looked at her and she did as well. Neither of us said anything and then I sighed.

"My lady, why did you not tell me this was your home? I wouldn't have stayed here if I knew."

"That's why I didn't tell you."

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, you would never have agreed to stay, had I told you that it was my residence."

"Why would you want me to intrude on your home? Scenes like this might be frequent as I grow stronger the damage will only increase."

"That's fine with me. I can simply remake it.", she said but didn't fully answer my question. I took this as something she simply didn't want to tell me, so I let it go. I would find out in the future anyway.

"I can tell that you have made tremendous progress, Odin. I am impressed."

"I thank you, my lady."

"If you wish, I can ... show you some things on how to get more familiar with using your divinities.", she offered and her tone changed midsentence.

"That is a great chance for me. I would appreciate it greatly if you had the time to do that.", I told her. I knew that I could do the same on my own but having someone of her power and experience teach me, was an offer I wouldn't refuse.

"What is it that you would like in return, my lady?", I ask her. I know that nothing is free in life. But she just smiled and shook her head.

"There is nothing I want. But if you truly want to give me something, then one favour would be enough."

"A favour ... I agree. As long as this favour doesn't go against any of my values and the people of Asgard."

"Of course. Well then, shall we start?"

"Aye, let's stars."

.

Gaea showed me how she used her divinity and her power. It was different for her as an elder god than it was for me, but it offered some valuable intel on the level and proficiency of divinities. I took her teachings to heart and then continued my own. I returned to the mountaintop and meditated on my divinities of both the sky and wind. The longer I sat there, the more I thought that I didn't like meditation like this for such long periods. I felt like one of those 'cultivators' that the soul knew. I didn't like to sit still like this.

I began to introduce heavy physical training into my program. I would spend the morning training physically by lifting heavy and big boulders. After a while, I needed something heavier and asked Gaea for help. She provided me with heavier objects. My weight training grew more and more intense with me doing all sorts of basic physical training with entire mountains on my back.

This was getting a bit cumbersome, so I invested the evenings to research on magic and runes. I knew that I would visit Yggdrasill in the future, but for now, I only needed some gravity runes to simulate increased gravity.

I spent many months doing that until I finally managed to create the perfect physical conditioning training space. I created a big area and reinforced the ground with strong metals as well as runes, to not have it bend or break when I increased the gravity.

After that, I would write gravity runes on the ground and increase it beyond my limit to train my body and do martial arts training. It yielded very good results and I felt myself grow more powerful the harder I pushed myself. It was an addicting feeling.

.

At night, I would meditate and get more familiar and proficient in my divinities. The more I understood my divinities and their respective concepts, I began to think of techniques to use them. And for that, I turned to the 'meta-knowledge' from the soul. I found many techniques concerning these concepts that would prove useful and powerful.

Let me show my process for each of my divinities. The first one is my divinity of the Sky.

A very interesting technique was from yet another story called 'Jujutsu Kaisen'. There the humans used 'cursed energy' or simply negative energy to perform a variety of things. One such technique was called 'Sky manipulation'. That is the name of the technique and I thought it had a very interesting concept to it. I saw the potential in this technique and decided to practice it immediately.

This woman who uses this technique can turn the sky into a tangible surface and use it to manipulate space, similar to how a lens creates distortion. She casually uses it to levitate and as an alternative to clothing. In battle, she can defend by distorting the shape of her opponent's attacks.

While the surfaces she controls can't crush her opponents directly, the woman can break the surface of the sky like a thin layer of ice and hit her target with the impact. This allows her attacks to slip past her opponent's guard and generate massive destruction. This technique specifically is called Thin Ice Breaker.

What was interesting about this technique?

The interesting part is that it basically is space manipulation among other things. It is a very good defensive technique but it also has very powerful attacking capabilities. The 'thin ice breaker' is something that resembles another power from yet another story, called 'One Piece'. There a character named 'Whitebeard', has the power of vibrations and he uses it similarly to 'Thin Ice Breaker'.

That is what I did. I began to touch the sky and use it as if it was tangible. I was fascinated by the ingenuity of these stories. It is a truly powerful technique. I knew that this was the first step for me to understand the concept of space as well as the concept of vibrations. Over the course of my training, I managed to 'break' the sky or the space with my punches and send vibrations and shockwaves which negated the durability.

.

Now my second divinity, the wind was easier to start and comprehend. I reached a high level with it and could call upon all sorts of storms. Breezes, squalls, gusts, whirlwinds, zephyrs, gales, tempests, and hurricanes were as simple as flicking my wrist now. I turned my attention to storms and would eventually reach cosmic storms. At least that was what I was aiming for.

My divinity of time needed more time to comprehend and train than wind. It took a while until I went about it scientifically. From the soul, I knew that space and time were connected. So I used what I had already learned from space and tried to understand time. It was better and I managed to understand it better. I then started to use different moves I knew from my 'meta-knowledge'.

One character that used time magic, called Julius Novachrono. A powerful wizard. He had moves like

- Time Acceleration: By speeding up time around him, Julius can greatly increase his effective speed relative to others.

- Time Reversal: By using time he "stole from the future", Julius can heal his wounds by reversing them to make it as though they never existed.

- Time Restraint Magic: Chrono Stasis: Freezes the opponent's consciousness in time so that they continue to experience the same split second continuously, rendering them incapable of action. This spell appears to have a short activation time before the spell completes itself.

And there were more. I simply used this as a way to start. It took a while but I managed to reach a proficiency to use these moves on beings who were of similar power to mine. But I didn't stop there, there was another character that I knew of through my 'meta-knowledge' who used the power of time. And his name was Regulus Corneas.

One technique he uses is particularly interesting. It's called Lion's Heart. Using Lion's Heart, he could nullify fatal damage while still receiving the force of the attack.

The effect of Lion's Heart allowed Regulus to stop the time of his own body, which stopped his heartbeat and prevented all physical phenomena from interacting with him, granting himself freedom from gravity, air resistance, and conservation of momentum. Moreover, he could also stop the time of objects, including anything he was wearing, touching, or even his breath, which in turn stopped the object's or thing's interference from the outside world.

Another powerful ability is by using Lion's Heart on objects, they effectively become anomalies to the time stream and gain unparalleled piercing power. They passed through anything they collided with, no matter the sturdiness. And I knew that I would use this in combination with my divinity of the wind.

There was something else that I noticed. I understood what the Essence of the Blank truly meant. This essence allowed me to learn any ability that I wanted. I have to practice it myself but I am capable of learning anything. How is this important? It is important because it effectively defies the laws of reality. The technique 'Lion's Heart' shouldn't have had the same effects as it does in that story.

Stopping time on sand and then throwing it, shouldn't have such piercing power. But the technique still worked how I wanted it to work. And this is simply beyond unbelievable. Such a thing shouldn't be possible and yet it is.

I didn't do much with my divinity of the dead just yet. I would wait with that one and instead, I was more interested in my divinity over crafts. I asked Gaea about powerful ores on the planet and she presented me with Adamantine as well as a frozen Vibranium. I knew that this was the Antarctic Vibranium, as it will be known in the future. It is also called Anti-Metal because instead of absorbing vibrations, it emanates vibrations which cause the atomic and molecular bonds in nearby metals of other kinds to weaken.

I would study the Anti-Metal but not use it for my weapon. I was interested in Adamantine, Uru and normal Vibranium. So for that, I had to go to space and get Vibranium. Or I would wait until the first host comes to this planet. I decided not to do that and instead went on a quest to find Vibranium.

.

How did I find it?

The Odin Force. Over the course of these years, I have gotten so much more powerful and proficient in the use of the Odin Force that it is scary how powerful I have become. I used the Odin Force to search for a small meteor containing Vibranium and when I did, I made it teleport to me. That's how I came into possession of Vibranium. My weapon could be created now.

I used what I already knew from my training with the dwarf. For the rest that I didn't yet know, I let myself be guided by the Odin Force. Or better, I guided the Odin Force to follow my will.
