19 Mjolnir

(Odin POV)

Some say Uru is a vestige of the earliest days of the creation of the universe. Rubble from the rock of creation itself. Some of the smallest of dust particles coming from a Celestial's sneeze. Very few things have ever endured that long.

The storm was one of them.

Why do I know this? Well, I have seen it. Nigh-omniscience is as much of a curse as it is a blessing. The fact that I have already seen and know when my children will be born gives me excruciating pain and sadness. I won't be able to experience the surprise that I might have otherwise gotten when Gaea informed me that she was pregnant. I know that she's not pregnant, but I know when it will happen.

So I played around with the thought of blocking what I see concerning my children's birth. But that could lead to complications ... But I digress.

.

The storm was one of the things that endured since the creation of the universe.

it began with the first wind that ever howled down out of the void and it had been growing in size and fury with each subsequent eon. They called it ... the God Tempest. The Mother of Thunder.

You always knew it was coming when even the space sharks fled in terror. Yes, literal space sharks were a thing in this wonderful universe. But by the time the space sharks fled ... it was already too late.

[Picture]

Its winds blew comets off course, ripped worlds from their orbit and snuffed out stars like flickering candles. Its lighting left clouds of dust where once were moons. Its thunder made even black holes tremble.

[Picture]

It was a cosmic thunderstorm the size of a galaxy. One that had been raging since the beginning of time and had been building its momentum ever since. But it was more than that as well.

The worst of its wrath was reserved only for those who truly deserved it, they say. A storm that passed judgment. Almost as if ... it had a mind of its own. A sentient superstorm. And one day, as it happened, that storm's judgment ... came even for the gods.

.

"Which leads me to this moment. Can you imagine that?", I say to no one in particular since I told everyone to retreat to their homes and have tasked the soldiers with activating the security measures that were just created a few years ago. I of course also used my power to shield Asgard from what was to come.

The gods of Asgard had faced trolls and dragons and the spawn from Muspelheim and all manners of giants. But we have not yet faced or fought a storm. How does someone kill a hurricane the size of a galaxy that consumes planets?

Well, it helps if you're me.

The winds picked up. The space crackled with charged particles and lighting started to descend. I of course had no problem with this and simply used my divinity of the sky to stop these attacks. Winds of unimaginable magnitudes began to blow and the presence I felt was now here. The Mother of Thunder was here.

"You call this a storm?! I bathe in fiercer maelstroms! My snores are louder than this mediocre thunder. You want to judge Asgard? You want to judge me?! Preposterous!

Come little gale, the All-Father of Asgard will see you now. I will show you the true storm of a lifetime.", I say and unleash my full presence and power. My Odin Force burst forth as well as my Conqueror's Haki, happy to finally be used again. A smile reaches my face as after all these years, I get to stretch my bones again.

I have been using runes that act in many ways to make moving hard for me. I increased the gravity to unholy degrees, increased the air pressure, and had the temperatures I was feeling change at random, ranging from -180°K up to many millions of degrees. The harder it was the stronger I became, but while it was good to at least have something that challenges me, during times of doing my duties as a king, it is most liberating to let loose every once in a while.

.

My power over the sky had increased and my understanding heightened my control and capabilities of what it could do. No longer was I just limited to the sky above the planets. I could essentially create my own sky by naming it such with my runes and then manipulate it like I do with Sky manipulation.

The power of this tempest was immense and nigh immeasurable. I of course could do that, but you understand my meaning. I used my power over time to create the biggest 'Chrono stasis' field ever. I was just able to fully encase this lovely gale.

But a moment later, the storm ripped through the time barriers I had set for it and increased its efforts to destroy me. But that only made me happier. I didn't want this to be an easy fight, this should challenge me for real.

I walked closer to the heart of the storm. The wind ripped through my armour the closer I got. I didn't use any weapons for this. I unleashed the Odin Force and gripped the storm 'metaphorically'. I pressured it and pressed it together. This caused a reaction to follow and the pressure built up.

A monstrous lighting fell on me. Lighting of galaxy proportions. The lighting would have torn through Asgard like a hot knife through butter. I felt my skin being scorched by this and my muscles spasm. But that only invigorated me further.

"HAHAHAHA, show me more!", I might sound insane at the moment, but this felt so amazing. I used my power to cut a wedge in between the storm and then used all of my strength to rip it apart.

*BBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!!!*

The sound of the explosion and the explosions after that were deafening, even for me. This wasn't just a sound heard by the ears but the mind as well.

A black hole opened up in front of me. I knew this was coming but didn't stop it in any way. I wanted to experience this. I hadn't thought about training inside a black hole before, it might be a good experience.

.

The absence of light, swallowed me and time slowed down as the chaotic forces began to pull me apart. But taht didn't matter to me. I was Odin Borson, the All-Father. You needed more than that to even remotely think to take me down. I changed my perception of time to match that of the storm and saw what happened to me in his time.

The forces grew stronger and stronger, pulling every cell out and pushing them in at the same time. It was ... liberating. I began to shine, if that is even remotely possible inside a black hole, but you better believe that I started to shine.

I pumped more and more of my Odin Power into my muscles and then started to do a Samson. I put both my hands to the side and then pushed! I pushed as hard as I could and a moment later ...

*CRACKKK*

*BBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!!!*

I pushed the black hole apart and caused space-time to shatter. My body was almost pulled apart in that explosion. You don't mess with space-time to this degree if you aren't a beyond solar system-level threat. And I was far beyond Solarsystem-level at this point. Goodness, I was fighting a storm the size of a galaxy.

The winds and chaotic forces increased again. The tempest really wanted to show me. But he was too late, he needed more than this if he wanted to impress me. I used the Odin Force again and encased it. Then I clenched my fist and shattered fractions of it.

*RRROOOAAAAR*, the storm roared in pain, can you imagine that?

The fight was not over.

.

We battled for many days. The God Tempest versus the God of Gods. hail fell like a blizzard of daggers. After a while, I decided to use the Odinsword. I pierced the sky and caused the storm to roar and the Bifrost to crack. Rain poured down like blood. The winds were even more unrelenting than they were in the beginning and the lighting strikes could destroy planet Earth easily.

But while there was seemingly no end to the tenacity and winds of this storm, neither was there a limit to my willpower and the Odin Force. I wanted to see what this storm had. I wanted to experience its full might and it didn't disappoint. It hit me with everything it had. I was crushed or it tried to crush me with multiple black holes, hit me with lightning the size of suns and the radiation that I was hit with, could have given the strongest of Gods cancer.

And yet, even the strongest and mightiest of storms must eventually grow tired. And that is what happened. I can feel the storm growing weaker. The winds aren't speeding up anymore, the lightning isn't growing more powerful and the rain is slowly diminishing.

I have seen the end of this battle but I have enjoyed myself nonetheless. With a thought, a small object appears in my hand. The piece of Uru which the dwarfs of Nidavellir brought me for helping them against Ulik. I use the Odin Force again. This time in conjuncture with my runes. I limit the storm's expansion and escape using runes. I then grab hold of the storm using my Odin Power and start to compress it slowly.

I can feel the refusal and power of the tempest pushing against my grip, but it is no use. I am ending the fight now as there is nothing left it can show me. I start to close my fist and compress the entire storm, the size of a galaxy into a small ball in my hand. It looks as though I am holding a small galaxy in my hands.

Hundreds of runes materialize out of nowhere and surround the storm. I then bring the piece of Uru close and then fuse the two. I trap the storm inside the Uru. The power of the Uru is impressive to be able to handle the power of the storm. Though I understand it is weakened right now, since it is exhausted, it is still a storm the size of a galaxy.

[Picture]

The fight is over and Asgard is safe. I don't even look hurt really. Only my armour is missing and my hair is dishevelled. Now it is time to visit the dwarfs in Nidavellir.

.

"King Eitri, you once brought me a gift. I have brought it back to you."

"The rumours are true. The mother storm ... trapped in the piece of Uru .."

"Do you want us to destroy it for you, Lord Odin?", Eitri asks.

"On the contrary. I hope for you to forge it into a weapon. A mighty weapon that will not only spread its name but also your name across the ten realms."

.

And so they did. The dwarves stoked their fires for three days and three nights until their caves and mountains were melting around them. But still, they could not smelt the Uru. So they hooded a star and dragged it into their furnaces. Yeah, they did that. They asked me for help and I was happy to give them a hand.

By the morrow, the star was dead, the mountaintops were oozing lava and the sounds of forging rang out across the realm. Many dwarves took turns pounding the metal into shape. It was as if the metal and the storm inside it, fought them till the bitter end but eventually came out as the losers.

For 17 days, the clanging rand like thunder through Nidavellir, until every tool in the realm was shattered and every dwarf exhausted. But the dwarves are the finest blacksmiths in all the realms and once they were finished most would agree ... they had forged their finest creation.

"I name you ... Mjolnir, the thunder weapon. First among the hammers and breaker of worlds."
