25 Complete domination

(3rd Person POV)

"Jaw Unit advance. Everyone make way!", Odin said and his voice was heard by every soldier through their bracelets.

From within the Asgardian lines, soldiers holding particular spears came forward. They positioned themselves in a jaw-like formation and aimed the spears forward. Each 'tooth' was aimed towards the narrow paths that had been created. These soldiers tapped their bracelets in a particular sequence and then something special happened.

A powerful force flowed through the bracelet and into the bodies of the soldiers. After that, the force went through the spear and reached the tip. There were lighting bolts visible at the tip of the spears and each spear acted like a conductor. The lighting bolts jumped from one spear tip to the two, to the side and connected. It looked like an electrical jaw.

Odin had created a special rune sequence that would allow those wearing the bracelet to 'ask' for access to the Speed Force. It was like an entry pass. You could get in and use it, but when you left, you had to leave everything behind. So it was only a temporary use of the Speed Force. Odin had no interest in allowing anyone access to the Speed Force and then going back in time or creating paradoxes and the like.

Odin had full authority over both the Speed and Still Force, but he still wanted to be careful.

.

The Jaw-unit were now temporary speedsters. They used their weapons to advance at unimaginable speeds and charge at the Vanir army. It was a massacre. There was no stopping the speed and piercing power of these spears and the Jaw-unit simply flashed through at least half of what was left of the Vanir.

This 'war' was pretty much over. The fight had lasted for a day up to that point but the forces of the Vanir were nearly wiped out, while the Asgardians had some minor injuries to take care of. But it wasn't finished just yet. Odin knew that if they defeated the Vanir right now, he wouldn't get to deal with the other realms as he wanted.

So he did one thing. He didn't kill all of the Vanir soldiers. But he had to kill their leader, Freyr. That was something he had to do. Freyr had thought he could take advantage of Odin and Asgard and now he would pay the price. Odin walked forward, while the Asgardian army waited behind, watching for any sort of ambush. But that was unnecessary. Odin was more than enough to deal with everyone in a second.

"Freyr! I challenge you to a fight. It is time we settle this farce.", Odin says.

Freyr has no choice but to fight now. If he doesn't he might lose face in front of his men, but it wasn't that, that led to Freyr accepting Odin's challenge. It was Surtur's infused flames that irked Freyr to destroy Odin.

"As you wish. I will kill you and then we shall defeat the rest of your pathetic army. You play dirty Odin! To use such technological devices in a war against us is shameful!"

"All is fair in a war, Freyr. You should have asked those who attended our schools whether it was smart to attack Asgard with your current advancements. Then you would have understood that you never stood a chance.", Odin says and then got off Sleipnir. He didn't have a weapon but that could be changed quickly.

A golden portal appeared and from it, Odin's spear came out and was placed right in his hand. Gungnir, the All-Father's spear. Capable of using the Odin Force and that was saying something. The Odin Force was no longer just the original Odin Force. It was now a combination of all of the Forces, Odin possessed. And Gungnir could channel all of those forces.

Odin used the Eternal Flame to melt some of the most powerful metals and materials together and then forged them with his bare hands and his power. Then he used the Casket of Ancient Winters to cool it down again. During the process, Odin infused Gungnir with hundreds of thousands of runes that allowed Odin to adjust the spear to his liking.

The weight alone would be nearly impossible to lift for anyone other than an Elder God. The durability, piercing power and the amount of power and energy he can channel and unleash are ridiculously high.

.

Freyr and Odin stood opposite each other and both looked each other in the eyes. Odin was very calm. This was like any other day for him. He wouldn't get anything out of this. Freyr took the initiative and threw one of his spears at Odin. Odin just dodged out of the way, but Freyr attacked again.

He tried to pierce Odin with his second spear but it was no use. Odin was both fast and strong, so this was pointless. Odin grabbed the spear and clenched his hand, breaking the spear as if it were made of wood. Freyr widened his eyes and the fire that was burning inside him intensified and gave Freyr more strength.

The Vanir unsheathed his sword and attacked Odin. He swiped from the right and Odin intercepted the attack with Gungnir. A fight such as this was almost too embarrassing to use Gungnir. But he has to present himself and strike fear into the hearts of the ten realms.

*CLANG*

*CLING*

Odin blocked one attack after the other and he counterattacked as well but not as much. He wanted to humiliate Freyr and make him see the futility of his actions. The fire in his eyes burned even more and gave Freyr more strength. But Odin could see that this temporary increase in power came at a cost. It was burning away his life force.

After a few minutes, Odin had enough and decided to end the fight. He pulled Gungnir back, reached out his hand and then used his power to expel the influence and power Surtur had over the Vanir.

*WOOOOSH*

Like the sound the wind makes, all the flames of Surture were extinguished and all the power the Vanir had gained, left them.

"Wha-!! What did you do?!", Freyr screamed.

"I took away the power you borrowed and put out the small fire of Surtur. Now you are here alone and you already know what will happen. You should have been satisfied with what you had, Freyr. Now you will have nothing.", Odin said and with a pierce, he impaled Freyr on Gungnir.

Due to the Odin Force, which was infused into Gungnir, the body of Freyr exploded. The entire battlefield was silent and everyone looked at Odin and the rest of Freyr. But then ...

*WHOOOOAAAAAAAA*

Every Asgardian soldier screamed and they were happy. This was seen as their victory since the leader of the Vanir was dead. And that was indeed the case. When the Vanir came out of their staring, they dropped their weapons and gave up the fight.

This battle would be remembered as the fastest and most brutal domination and one-sided war among the ten realms.

.

The fight with the Vanir was now won, but the war wasn't over. Others were also interested in pushing their 'advantage'. One such person was the Queen of the Angels. She has asked for an unofficial audience with Odin and he accepted since he knew that it would be important. It was time for them to get off their high horse.

Odin met with the Queen. It was decided to meet in the space between realms. That was a place which could be reached by the Queen of Angels and Odin respectively. The Queen of course was very cautious and was wary of Odin's strength. She thought herself the most skilled of hunters and prepared for prey as fat as Odin was ... but we will see whether that works.

"King Odin, good that you're here. I was wondering who I should help in this war, should you not show.", the Queen said as Odin appeared before her.

"Queen of Heven, you begin our discussion with a threat, how courageous.", Odin answered her.

"No task is too terrible for us, or impossible. If we hunt something, it dies, sooner or later."

"Another threat. Keep this up and I might join in this useless measuring of prowess. Now, what is it you wish to discuss?", Odin asked.

"We have made sure to keep rogue Asgardians away from Midgard and have eradicated those who entered it unannounced and uninvited."

"I don't recall ever asking you to do that. And I also don't believe that you ever had to do that since I have been king of Asgard. So what is it that you want?", Odin asks her, still in his neutral voice.

"Nevertheless we did it. Now, on to the matter of payment. The barbaric creatures have provided a small token of their esteem, as is only proper. We must teach them good habits, after all. But the remainder of the debt falls to you ... King Odin."

"You want me to pay for something that I never used nor asked for? Are you delusional? It would seem that those wings have carried you too far into the air and now you can't see the ground anymore. ... Should I remind you?", Odin asked that with a rather low voice.

"So you won't pay us then? You know it is questionable whether Asgard can stand in a war against other realms such as Jotunheim, Svartalfheim and who knows, maybe even Heven ... are you sure that this is a wise decision, oh All-Father?", the Queen had a smirk on her face.

"It would seem that you are to blame for the heated situation in the ten realms. You truly love your money."

"Well ... yes, yes I have. I'm sorry is that a problem?", she asked.

"So you admit it. You would actually go against Asgard and wage war against us?", Odin asks.

"Why not? Jotunheim paid us handsomely to form a strategy that would defeat you. We suggested an alliance of enemies. You Asgardians really know how to make them, after all. Of course, now that you've found out, your curse is clear. Pay us off.", the Queen said.

"... What?"

"For an additional sum, to be negotiated, though it will be large, we'll betray the Jotuns in turn. Obviously, this is in addition to what you already owe us. You've run up quite a tab. But all you have to do is settle it ... and your war is over before it can truly drag on. Everybody gets to be happy. Yes?"

"I am fascinated by this display. Truly, you have no honour and only seek riches.", Odin didn't look angry, and instead had an amused expression on his face.

"'Honour'? Yes, I've heard of that. the precious commodity Asgard pays her soldiers for their sweat, blood and lives. A con-trick. A swindle. Your people die for you and you give them nothing. Nothing but this 'honour', that none can count, or see, or weigh in their hand. Were you planning to pay us with 'honour' King of Swindlers? Because that ... that would mean war.

A true war. As only Angels may fight it. A war to cost you more than you could dream.", the Queen said.

"..."

For a moment Odin simply looked at the Queen and was in thought. He had seen this moment a few times and it still fascinates and surprises him that someone can be this arrogant in front of him. He could destroy her entire realm and her race in infinite ways, but here she stands in front of him and spouts this nonsense.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA ... you amuse me Queen. Your ignorance is priceless and this show you put on is just as funny. The only reason why I haven't destroyed all my enemies is because I value life and freedom of choice. I know of your wishes and the reason for this meeting. I could kill you here, but I don't.

Come then, show me what you have. But be warned ... should you choose to go to war with Asgard, I will burn you and all your people to the ground. And that is Odin's promise.", Odin said and then disappeared.
