2.The Mysterious Man

Upon entering the ship, I was welcomed by the magnificent interior that left me speechless. The chandelier hanging from the ceiling was encrusted with diamonds and I couldn't diverge my eyes from what looked like heaven. Compared to every other component in the lobby, the chandelier could be considered average.

The elegant flooring was beyond words as it was covered with a grand carpet made from gold strings with a sophisticated pattern that only seemed to end before reaching the bottom of the staircase. As the colour scheme of the room was black, brown, gold and white, it was expected for the staircase to be assembled from tiger-wood and the hand railings being solid gold.

Although I was amazed by the view, I felt a sense of familiarity in what seemed too good to be true. Had I previously been here? I questioned myself.

Suddenly, I heard an obnoxious voice coming from behind me. It was so high pitched and so loud that I started to cringe. Covering my ears didn't help. As if the annoying voice wasn't enough, I could hear the lady flaunting her wealth to the people she was with.

I turned around, intending to nicely ask her to shut her mouth, but to my surprise, someone beat me to it. I was almost certain that there would be an interesting show.

The person that fulfilled my wishes was an incredibly tall Asian man with short black hair and handsome face. He dressed in formal attire and his overall appearance left countless women drooling at the sight. The aura surrounding him was cold and mysterious, which increased his attractiveness.

The owner of that obnoxious voice glared at the man as she yelled, "EXCUSE ME? HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT TO ME! DO YOU KNOW WHO MY FATHER IS?"

He didn't seem the slightest bit shaken at her words. On the contrary, a smirk appeared on his face as he advanced towards the arrogant lady and placed his hand on her chin. He pulled her towards him and whispered something in her ear that left her petrified.

He walked away confidently, held his head high, and wore a Pokerface. By the way he walked, you wouldn't have guessed that he had left a girl terrified just a few seconds back.

Moments later, she seemed to regain her composure as she excused herself from the crowd and everyone headed to their respective rooms.

I scanned the room only to find that man still in sight. I didn't know what came over me as I started to trail behind him. He occasionally looked back, as if he felt I was there, but couldn't see me.

"Edward!", called out an exhausted woman while sprinting towards him.

She had a messy bun, which I presumed was the result of her running all the way here. Although she had sweat running down her face, her essence and beauty couldn't be suppressed. She had a worried look on her face as she continued. "Did you hear? Your sister, she..."

"One more word about that and consider this engagement terminated," he warned.

"But what are you going to do? She's-"

"I'm going to find those people and kill them, it's as simple as that." He answered, "Lea would want that, wouldn't she?"
