Adjusting with the test subj-I mean companion

"Well then Johnathan, I hope this is one of the better experiences we both share" she said with almost no emotions visible.

Right after she finishes her sentence, he tries to use his Lesser Vampire eyes on her, to have her punch the wall. After a few seconds of a stare down, nothing happens. So he then decides to try amplifying her desire to stay with him. Nothing happens immediately, but he was amplifying something difficult to judge within a few seconds.

"So what now?" Ruby asks the obvious question, with a bit of boredom in her voice.

"We sleep. I'm tired, and its about halfway through the night, i'm going to rid of the carriage, you can deal with the corpses, and take some clothes off one. No one's making it through the night in rags."

Johnathan says this while hopping down from the carriage, and waiting for Ruby to leave the carriage. After she descends, he then grabs some of the embellished tops and starts dragging the carriage of the roads, as he let the horses go while testing his wind magic a while ago.

While Johnathan is dragging a carriage off road, she takes the clothes off the swordsman then hiding behind an earth wall Johnathan made beforehand, she changes. It's not a perfect fit, it looks like stereotypical light armor, however it's all colored black. Certain areas where not considered, as it's designed for men. So it was something she would change whenever possible.

"Well then princess, you never told me what exactly you can do. Do you use a sword? Magic? If so what element? Please do give us a demonstration." He sounds pretty distant, as he's saying this all while manipulating the nearby earth to make the carriage disappear from view.

"I have a fire magic variant, blue flames. Similar to regular flames, the regular flame spells work, as well as variant spells and basic chant less magic." she says proudly "The flames are also extremely difficult to put out, and cause greater burns to an enemy, however they don't hurt me, and I can extinguish them whenever. Weapons can be coated with the flames and they will not melt, unless I want them to."

Johnathan whistles while thinking to himself "that powers totally unfair, obviously I just let her have I'm a princess thing, since y'know, any citizen probably should know crests, and that looked legit. But the power has me sold that she's actually royalty, otherwise how would they hold their seats if they didn't have stupidly powerful abilities?"

Now it was time to test some of the problems he might have while adjusting to another world. First off, the food. Johnathan was always something of a picky eater, so this was a pretty big concern, as how can you grow stronger if your starving yourself. Second problem, sleeping, he was never really one to go without a soft pillow, so he had to see how things would play out.

Johnathan then pops some bread out from his pocket dimension and tries it. It tastes like the best bread he's ever had, soft and squishy but not to squishy, and after examine the loaf in his hands, he makes an ice cutting board and butter knife. He puts the bread down and starts slicing it. after slicing the bread he leaves three slices on the cutting board. He then takes his fire and tries his best to toast them. After about a minute, there a good golden brown on some of it, while other bits were slightly burnt. He stuffs half a slice in his mouth, chews, then swallows. Then repeats.

After eating his toast he offers one slice of bread to Ruby, who he assumes wasn't really fed throughout the carriage ride. She accepts and starts chewing on small pieces of the bred she ripped of with her hands. After there meal, Johnathan makes an ice basin, puts some water in it, and then washes his hands, he then separates the dirt from the water and puts it outside the basin, Ruby then follows suite, but she looks confused as to what he's doing, or maybe the different types of chant less magic he's using. But she says nothing.

After washing his hands, he makes a dome of earth by the side of the road, and then opens a door for himself, after entering in, he starts to make certain areas of the floor softer, so he and Ruby can sleep. One minute after he's done, Ruby enters. He closes the door behind her takes out some of the wood he had from spatial storage, and starts a fire. After that he rolls over on his bed but before he can closes his eyes Ruby asks the important question

"Who's on watch first?" She asks, clearly concerned about Johnathan's carefree attitude.

"Just go to sleep, i'm an extremely light sleeper" Johnathan here isn't exactly lying, but will just stay up all night pretending to be asleep to see what Ruby does.

After what feels like 3 hours, he suddenly hears movement and is immediately on edge, but seeing as it's someone getting up, he assumes it's Ruby, and makes a small reflective bit of ice on his hand, like a watch so he can see what she doing.

She has a very tired look in her eyes, and is walking over to Johnathan, before laying next to him. Johnathan is obviously very confused as to what's happening, but then realizes this is probably his fault. As he amplified her desires to stay with him, it seems he didn't think there would be any side effects of this test. It seems his experiment was a success, as her desire to stay with him became so great as to sleep next to him, about 1 and a half feet away.

Well, Ruby did something, it was just not expected from him, at all, so all throughout the night he's lying there. Unsurprisingly, he couldn't sleep at all decided to go see what it was like outside. When he walked out, the sun was rising, and there he could hear howls in the distance. He had achieved his first milestone in this life, make past the first night. Now, plenty more challenging goals could be made and hopefully, accomplished.
