Chapter 13 Don't Move, It's Me.

Pei Nian composed herself and looked at the box in front of her, a bit confused as she asked, "Did that person not say who he was?"

Her sister-in-law shook her head. "No, he just told me to pass this on to you..."

Without much thought, Pei Nian opened the box. But as soon as she saw what was inside, her face suddenly changed. She urgently turned to her sister-in-law and asked, "Do you remember what the man who gave you this box looked like?"

Pei Nian continued to stare at the bracelet in the box, lost in thought.

This bracelet was a pair with another one that she had, which was a gift from her brother Pei Ji on her 18th birthday. He had specially ordered two bracelets, one for her and one for himself.

And the bracelet in the box was the one that her brother had worn all these years, never taking it off.

So why did he send it here? Did that mean he had come back?

But if he had, why didn't he come to see her?

Pei Nian furrowed her brows, staring at the bracelet in her hand.

Suddenly, she felt something at the bottom of the box. She instinctively wanted to flip it over to take a look, but quickly stopped herself just in time.

She calmly closed the box and stood up, telling her sister-in-law, "I'm going to the bathroom."

Pei Nian leaned against the wall and took out the box, flipping it over to the back where there was a hidden layer. She slowly opened it and found a piece of paper inside.

Pei Nian carefully unfolded the white paper, revealing a line of small words written on it.

"Meet at Donghu Park tomorrow at five o'clock in the afternoon."

Signed by Pei Ji.

Her fingers holding the note trembled slightly. It was indeed her brother. He had really come back!

That evening, in the Qing Garden.

Pei Nian returned home and noticed a strange car parked in the courtyard. She looked at it with a hint of confusion before walking inside.

As soon as she entered the foyer, she heard the laughter of a woman coming from the living room. She hesitated for a moment before deciding whether to go in or not.

In the end, it was Yun Auntie who came out of the kitchen and saw her standing at the foyer. "Miss Pei, why don't you come in?" she said, and the other two also looked over.

Pei Nian smiled and walked into the living room. "I just got back and was about to come in," she said.

When Fu Yan Chen saw her, his expression slightly softened.

Just then, the woman sitting on the single sofa stood up and said to Fu Yan Chen, "Yan Chen, it's settled then, for tomorrow's charity banquet. It's getting late, I'll take my leave."

"I will," Han Qinghe said as she glanced at Pei Nian and then left.

Pei Nian replied calmly, "I stayed with my father a bit longer in the hospital."

Pei Nian smiled at her, "Thank you, Auntie Yun."

After Yun Auntie went to the kitchen, Fu Yan Chen asked again, "How is your father doing?"

Pei Nian sat down and said, "The doctor said he's recovering well."

Fu Yanchen suddenly spoke up, "There's a charity event tomorrow night. Will you accompany me?"

Pei Nian looked at him and politely declined, "Can you find someone else to go with you? I have to accompany my father tomorrow, so I might not have time."

Fu Yanchen looked at her and asked, "Your father is recovering well, why does he still need your company?"

Pei Nian replied calmly, "He just woke up not long ago and is still not used to it. He often looks for me when he doesn't see me, so I want to spend more time with him."

The man disappeared in a blink of an eye.

Pei Nian anxiously searched around.

At that moment, a hand reached out from the shadows and covered her mouth.
