Chapter Six : A New Beginning

My breath was getting heavy. A sweet smell was hitting my olfactory nerves making my head dizzy. Strong arms were preventing me from going near Edward.

He was struggling on the ground, a strong, big white wolf above him pinning him down on the ground, keeping him away from coming towards me.

My senses were fading, my eyes were getting heavier, Edward's screams were now barely reaching my ears. I wanted to help him, I wanted them to stop. But my peripheral nerves were losing their abilities. Slowly I fell on the arms.

When I finally got back my senses, I saw a beautiful artwork on the ceiling. It was so aesthetic and surreal, sophisticated furniture surrounding the room. Beautiful white curtains with rich embroidery on them.

I was still feeling drowsy. I was not being able to remember exactly where I was. Suddenly my senses hit me all at once. I quickly got down from the king sized bed. I looked outside through the window.

Everything was so familiar. I was at the top floor of a huge mansion. Finally it made sense. They brought me back. Back to the pack house.

I heard someone entering the room. I quickly grabbed the metal vase from my side. I hastily turned back and positioned my body to attack the intruder.

"Aw! Relax," Alex was standing in front of me raising his hands, backing his body a bit in a defensive position.

"Where's Ed? Where is my husband? " I didn’t put down the vase and asked coldly keeping the same gesture.

Alex came forward. I was hesitating between whether just to attack him and look for Ed by myself or just have a conversation with him to find out their actual motives behind capturing me after all these years.

Alex grabbed my hand and took the vase and kept it on the table. I didn’t resist anymore. There was no way this vase could injure an alpha wolf. Also I didn’t want to create any situation that might cost Edward's life.

"You're still so fierce," he said looking into my face with a smile. One hand still grabbing my wrist.

I quickly released my hand from his grasp.

"What do you want from me? Where is Edward? Don't harm him. Let me see him once, please," I pleaded.

"Don't take his name with so much passion," he said coldly. "It makes me want to crush him into pieces," he said again while taking a step closer to me.

His eyes darkened. His facial muscles became hard.

"Look, we are not doing this. It's been a long time and I know you don't feel anything for me anymore. I can't feel our bonds. In fact I can't even feel my wolf anymore. And Zen has chosen a new mate already, hasn’t he? I felt that. There's no reason for you two to bring me here after so many years. If you wanted to catch me you could have done it long time ago. I have nothing to give you trust me," I almost cried uttering everything.

"And whose fault do you think it is?" Alex asked. "You chose this path, and because of the decision you made, I am like this, lonely, left behind."

"I don't know why you are helping Zen. But please, Alex, let me see Edward. He has nothing to do with all of these. Let him go. Don't harm him, please," I begged.

"I am your mate! I marked you mine! Don't test my wolf," he said angrily grabbing my shoulders. "That human really got some skills, no? Bringing such a fierce and strong wolf under his control, how did he do it? How did your wolf submitted to that mere human so easily? He was not even your mate," Alex asked.

"Maybe because he is a mere human, so Lexa didn’t need to deal with the pointless obsessions. That is why she accepted him," I replied looking into his eyes,"She found the love that she was looking for."

"Get ready," he ignored my reply and said. He pointed the expensive gown that a maid had kept on the bed a few minutes ago. "Zen would like to meet you and have a conversation."

My head was quickly doing the calculations of how to save Ed and how to get out of the pack without getting caught. I already knew every inch of the pack and every exists. Ed was alive. I could tell from Alex's face. But I wasn’t sure if the exists that I knew were there or not. What happened to uncle Zaden after I ran away I had no idea. If he was still there he could help me.

"Don't try to get rebellious," he warned me again. As if he knew what I was thinking. "You are right. You are not here for any mating ritual. You are here for a bigger purpose. Don't create any trouble that might take your lover's life," Alex warned me.

"And what is that?" I asked cautiously.

"You will know eventually. Get ready. Zen is waiting for you in the hall," Alex replied and left me locked in the room.

I sat down on the floor. I was exhausted. I wanted to see Edward. A bigger purpose they said, but my brain was being unable to fathom any of the things that Alex said. I was always a weak wolf. I was never of any use. What did they want from me then?

I didn’t changed my clothes. The gown was pretty. A white one again. Expensive embroidered works over silk on its whole body.

But I was not in the mood of playing a princess while being held as a prisoner. I knocked the door. Outside a guard and a maid was kept awaiting.

The guard opened the door. I came out and asked the maid to show me the hall. Even though I knew where it was but I didn’t think they would allow me to go anywhere by myself anyway.

"Take me to the hall room," I ordered the maid.

"You need to change first, ma'am," she said.

"Take me to the hall now or I know where it is," I said coldly.

She didn’t argued or forced me anymore. She just titled her head indicating me to follow her.

I came downstairs. I saw all the familiar faces. It had been years, but I recognised most of them. But the look in their faces was different this time. As if they weren’t looking down on me anymore.

In the past few years I had changed a lot. Edward changed me a lot. My body might not have changed but my soul, it had definitely gotten stronger. I wasn’t weak anymore. Not by my willpower. The weak breed whom they hated the most, wasn’t me anymore.

And for Edward, I could take any step. It was clearly written all over my face.
