2 Unexpected Incident

Nara walked while enjoying the view along the road, occasionally passing by wheat farmers heading to their fields. They all were very friendly. Maybe because medical personnel are very rare here. So, their presence is highly revered. After learning that Nara is a Healer magician, they show great respect to her.

After a while, at the end of the road, a densely populated house came into sight. It was a hall located at the center of the village. Many of the villagers' activities are centered there, from the market to the health center, inn, and even adventurer guides. That's why as Nara got closer to the hall, the houses around became more crowded.

"Good morning," Nara greeted as she entered the wooden building with a signboard depicting a snake symbol. However, unlike what Nara expected, a nurse she knew named Lionor rushed out from inside the room.

"Good morning, Nara. Luckily you came today, there's an emergency, come with me quickly!!" Lionor exclaimed anxiously upon seeing Nara's arrival.

"Calm down, what's going on?"

"This morning, some people came here, they seem to be knights from the kingdom. Some of them are lightly injured, but one of them is on the brink of death now," Leonor explained as succinctly as possible.

"Kingdom knights? How did they end up here?"

"I don't know, we haven't had a chance to talk. Lady Zenith is trying to treat them right now, but the injuries are too severe. It's been over an hour, and I'm afraid Lady Zenith's magical energy won't hold up," Lionor said, lowering his voice when he opened the door in front of them.

"I understand," Nara replied with a nod.

...

Before me now is a blonde woman reciting magic over a man lying on a bed, surrounded by about six men dressed in medieval knight-like attire.

"How is he, ma'am?" I asked Zenith while making my way closer, but before I could get near, a sword blocked my path with a hissing sound.

"Don't come closer," one of the men said threateningly.

"I'm a nurse from this pharmacy, and I'm also a user of Healer magic," I said, smiling politely at the dark-skinned, muscular man. Honestly, this man would have been on my fantasy list in my previous world. Dark-skinned men always have impressive physiques.

"If we wait any longer, I'm not sure if he and my lady can hold on," I added, looking at the hesitation in the man's eyes.

With a swish, the man sheathed his sword and stepped aside.

"Lady, rest," I said to Lady Zenith with a nod as if saying, "Leave it to me."

"This man won't make it much longer. Hold on until I call my husband," Lady Zenith whispered as she passed by me.

I knew what Lady Zenith meant. If this man doesn't make it, it will be a big problem for the village. I was quite surprised by the hierarchy in this world; the behavior of the nobles was so self-serving.

Without much thought, I took scissors from my magical space, cutting open the man's clothes to examine his wounds. A large, vicious animal claw mark was displayed on his abdomen.

It tore through his stomach up to his chest, leaving three long gashes that exposed his internal organs.

After a brief diagnosis of his abdominal area, I cut open his pants to examine his broken leg. Indeed, it was fractured and slightly displaced.

Seeing the extent of his injuries, it's no wonder Lady Zenith said he wouldn't make it. The medical knowledge in this world heavily depends on magical healing, which is why its progress is so slow.

I retrieved my equipment box from my magical space. I made it a few weeks ago at a magical item shop. That's how I got to know Mr. Jake and admired his physique.

After grabbing a syringe, I filled it with anesthesia and injected it into the man. Because his wound was so large, I had to administer complete anesthesia to put him into a deep sleep.

Then, I used forceps to check for any debris left inside his abdomen. I put his internal organs back in place and sewed up the wound.

"Heal," I recited, directing the magic towards the freshly stitched organ. As expected, it healed rapidly. I then cleaned the three large wounds on his abdomen with alcohol and performed the same process again. Stitch, recite, remove the thread, recite.

The abdominal area was done, fully healed without a trace. Now, I moved on to the man's leg. I didn't know the magic incantation for a broken leg, so I treated it the way I did back on Earth. I realigned the broken bone, positioned it, and secured it with a board. Finally, I bound it tightly, ensuring it wouldn't shift. Fortunately, he was still asleep, which made the process quicker.

Once everything was done, I gave him a potion to replenish his blood since he had lost a lot.

Finally, it's over.

"Phew," I let out a long breath after finishing everything. Physical labor may be tiring, but tasks that require focus and precision are even more exhausting.

...

The six young men in the room were astonished by the unconventional healing method they had just witnessed. They were well aware that their master's injuries were too severe to be healed by normal Healer magic.

They had never seen anyone use strange objects like the woman in front of them did. However, her methods seemed somewhat similar to what the royal doctors would do.

Usually, when faced with a large wound, royal doctors would apply ointment and gradually apply Healer magic until the wound closed. But that didn't always work.

Seeing Nara finish treating their master, the dark-skinned man who led the group hurried over to her.

Nara, who was taking a drink, noticed the man approaching and spoke spontaneously.

"Your master's abdominal wound is completely healed, but for his broken leg, I don't know what magic needs to be cast. I only awakened my magical core a month ago."

"But I can assure you that within a month's time, the leg support can be removed, and after three months, he should be able to walk normally again. Just make sure his fractured leg doesn't shift!" Nara added, continuing to drink from her cup.

"Your master lost a lot of blood. I gave him a blood-replenishing potion, but because he lost so much, he'll need to drink it once a day for a week."

Nara rambled on without giving the dark-skinned man a chance to respond.

Actually, she was a bit annoyed about the situation. After explaining so much and receiving no response, Nara finally left the room, carrying the basket she had brought.

As she exited the room, she saw Lady Zenith, Paul, and their maid Lilia entering. They were armed and wearing armor. Behind them were the village head and a crowd of villagers who had flocked over.

(-_-") Oh no... Nara had forgotten Lady Zenith's instructions...

"Nara, where are they? We're ready to fight now," Lady Zenith shouted with a flushed face.

"Lady... it's all... resolved now," Nara said hastily, her gaze darting around at the increasing number of people who had arrived, all spurred on by Lady Zenith's shouts.

"What did you say? How is that possible? Nara, listen to me... they dared to draw their swords on us. We won't stand by while our village is trampled!" Lady Zenith yelled, causing the villagers behind her to cheer.

Nara's panic grew as she saw the villagers joining in with weapons, from scythes to shovels and even axes.

This was bad. If this continued, their village would truly be under siege by the nobles.

"Ma'am, I've successfully treated him, now if you'll just...". Nara hadn't finished her sentence when a figure emerged from the doorway behind her, the same dark-skinned man who had aimed his sword at her earlier.

He walked out and then stopped beside Nara, kneeling before Zenith and the crowd of villagers.
