|CALEB|

It was time for my departure to earth. Albeit, I had the opportunity to live for earth anytime I pleased. I wanted it to be officially known that the Crown Prince was living for earth.

I maneuvered briskly across the wide hallways of the palace heading straight to Lucifer's chamber.

The intimidating looking guards acknowledged me with a nod.

I knocked twice on the door but no response came, I tried to mind link him but it felt like some force was blocking the signal and it meant only one thing.

He was in hell.

I hate hell, like an intense hatred with an unquenchable passion. What can I do? The curse came as massive blow to our guts and Lucifer suffered the major consequence since he was the foundation of the rebellion.

He was forced to reside in hell, escort dead souls to hell and also punish unclean souls.

I ruth him at times because he puts on a tough exterior just to potray his duty as a faithful King but he can't hide his anguish from me.

Even a robot has its limits.

I closed my eyes briefly and directed my thoughts to my upfront destination and soon enough I was whisked by the wind and suddenly standing in Lucifer's office in hell. The office was a complete mess with his stuff lying inappropriately on the tiled floor.

His head was bowed with his hands combing frustratingly through his blowout burgundy hair.

I pulled a chair from the desk and sat beside him, he was so deep in thoughts to even notice the creak of the chair.

I touched his shoulder lightly and he jolted from his seat like I had burned him.

"Relax man, it's just me" I cooed.

He sighed in relief and forced a smile which to his disappointment came out as a grimace.

I raised my eyebrows in question.

"What's bothering you?"

Lucifer doesn't open up most often, I'm the only person who ever gets the chance of knowing the vulnerable figure behind the tough facade he creates.

"I,..I don't how or where to begin."

He stared at nothing in particular, his face full of conflicted emotions.

He was having second thoughts by the expression on his face. Lucifer never stutters, which meant it was a great deal of a problem.

"You don't have to force yourself if you don't want to. Tell me willingly whenever you feel is the right time." I squeezed his shoulders reassuringly.

He nodded his head in understanding.

Truth be told, I understand where he's coming from.

At some point when things are breaking in on you but you don't have the willpower to share it with others. I'll have to wait until he's ready to let it out. After all, what are brothers for?

I wanted to make it known to you of our departure to earth. Metatron and I will be living Fhriyaile in a few.

We've been able to track the location of the target family and fortunately they're in need of a driver and a bodyguard for their daughter.

It'll make the job far easier for us if we disguise ourselves as such.

He nodded his head in concurrence.

"Be careful." Lucifer advised.

I stood up from the chair, "just remember that I'm a mind link away when you need me. Don't do anything I wouldn't do." I warned humorously and vanished into the world of emptiness not before registering the slight smirk that mirrored the corners of his luscious lips, it made me smile too.

Metatron was already prepared and waiting impatiently for me at the throne hall, he had a luggage that held a few clothes and paperworks.

I smiled at him nervously, "are you ready for some adventure?" I asked.

He clenched his hands and gave a tight smile.

"More than I'll ever be." He replied.

I turned my head to say my final goodbye to my brothers when Michelle suddenly materialised in the hall.

"Can I have a little chat with you?" She questioned.

"Sure." I agreed with a smile.

"Privately." She emphasized.

"Ok. After you," I gestured with my hand.

She led me to private area where no one could eavesdrop.

"I....I..I shit," she stuttered.

I arched an eyebrow. I've never seen her this nervous before. "Go on." I encouraged.

A determined look caressed her features. "Well I...I lost the bracelet you gave me on our third anniversary."

She rubbed her hands vigorously on her ripped jeans. A sign that showed how nervous she was.

I gifted her a golden bracelet on her and Barman's third anniversary.

I was kind of disappointed that she lost it but I knew it wasn't deliberate.

"Don't worry, I admit that I'm kind of disappointed but I'm not gonna hold that against you because I know it wasn't deliberate. I'll get you a new one as soon as I arrive."

She gave me a megawatt smile that would have made my insides go all mushy if I wasn't hanged up on a certain mortal girl.

"Thank you, thank you,I thought you were going to scold me," she crushed me with a tight hug.

"Take good care of yourself and come back safe." she gave me a chaste kiss on my cheek and muttered her final goodbye.

Our apartment on earth wasn't a big one but it was small, cosy and welcoming.

It had a living room, a kitchen and three bedrooms each with a private bathroom.

Metatron's room was across the living room and mine was adjacent to his.

My window led to a balcony that gave a perfect view of the city. The dark sky provided a shimmering blankets of light.

I must admit that It is a beautiful view.

Tomorrow is a new day with a new purpose, we had already called one of our trusted mortal employee to create a fake russian background history for us. Everything was set and ready and I couldn't wait to start my revenge. My inner spirit was growling with anticipation, he wanted blood and I was more than ready to give him just that.

As I lay in my not-so- cosy bed, something knocked at apex of my mind. It felt like something was calling out for me.

I obliged and suddenly found myself in a beautiful meadow but I wasn't alone, the mortal girl was the one who called for me.

She sat leisurely on the lawned garden smiling brightly. Her hair flowed freely down her shoulders and she looked like an angel in the bright moon night.

I sat beside and her touched her shoulders, jolt of electricity pulsated through me. I found myself whispering.

"It's gonna be a long night."
