Chapter -7

Shinobu is sitting in her room while doing all the paperwork when she heard a knock.

"Come in"

The door opened and it revealed an excited and cheerful mitsuri.

"Shinobu chan, long time no see." She said while smiling happily even though it has been not even a month since they last met.

Shinobu seemed a little surprised but she expected mitsuri to visit as the system said.

"Mitsuri san" She said and gestured her to sit.

Mitsuri complied what she is told and got directly to the topic. "Shinobu chan, do know about this system thing?"

Shinobu didn't looked surprised as she knew it. "Yes" saying this she explains everything that happened till now.

"How did you get your system, mitsuri san?"

Mitsuri also explained her side of story. "You got strength as a reward for system activation but i didn't get anything."

Shinobu just got in her thinking pose before saying "Maybe because i activated it first."

At this time both of their system replied. "It seems your assumption was right, Shinobu chan."

Both of their system notified them of their quest completion.

"Do you know anything about this mark thing, shinobu chan?" Mitsuri asked in her usual cheerful voice.

"No, i don't know anything about this mark. The 'system' might explain it." Shinobu said while asking system for answers.

[Demon Slayer Marks are irregularities on a Demon Slayer's skin that resembles a birthmark. It commonly appears on the face or another visible location of the body of Demon Slayers. Each Demon Slayer possesses a unique pattern to their Mark which appear to be based on the Breathing Style they utilize. The Mark can only be awakened under very specific conditions and grants special abilities while also enhancing pre-existing traits of the bearer. Once awakened, the Mark can disappear after a period of time along with its effects.]

Shinobu digested all the information about mark meanwhile Mitsuri brain stopped functioning due to the amount of information.

"Shinobu chan. . . Can you explain it to me? I couldn't understand what it meant." Mitsuri asked while blushing due to embarrassment.

Shinobu just sighed as she knew that Mitsuri wouldn't be able to understand.

"In simple language, it's an mark that appears on users skin and it resembles their breathing technique. It also gives it's user an enhance in their physical abilities while also giving them some special abilities. It can also be deactivated." Shinobu blurted it out in the simplest language she could say.

Mitsuri kept nodding and came to an conclusion." So a mark that makes you strong." She said like she found the greatest treasure, one piece with that statement.

Shinobu just kept looking at her with her always ever present smile. But then she asked Mitsuri or the question directed towards system.

"Ara~ But it said something about the mark without curse, didn't it?" Shinobu asked in well the shinobu tone.

"Yes, now that you say that." Mitsuri also looked curious about the curse.

[The curse is that the user of demon slayer mark will die at the age of 25.]

Shinobu just nodded while Mitsuri looked like she had a existential crisis. "What! I am gonna die at the age of 25. I am not even married yet." She just started to blabber about it and eventually calmed down.

"You didn't see that this mark that we have is without curse?" Shinobu asked while still smiling.

Mitsuri got red from embarrassment that she didn't even notice such a thing.

"But what about those special abilities that it spoke of?" Shinobu asked but didn't got any reply only silence.

"Maybe i should try to activate this mark, what do you say shinobu chan?" Mitsuri asked while looking all excited and shinobu just nodded.

When Mitsuri tried to activate the mark, she just willed it to activate. She felt sudden increase in her heartbeat and her body temperature but there wasn't any pain.

Shinobu was looking at Mitsuri and saw a Two mirroring hearts with wings mark appear on her left clavicle while sweat was forming on Mitsuri forehead.

Mitsuri opened her eyes and saw Shinobu staring at her but before she could speak Shinobu spoke up."How do you feel mitsuri san?"

"I feel like my heartbeat increased and my body feels hot. But it doesn't hurt, i only feel like i have grown more stronger." Mitsuri said while doing hand movements and trying her best to explain.

Shinobu kept smiling and tried to activate her own mark and she felt the things that Mitsuri said.

Meanwhile Mitsuri saw an purple centipede shaped mark formed on shinobu right forehead. Which made her look even more beautiful in Mitsuri eyes. (A/n:- she is no lesbian but she loves every adorable thing.)

Shinobu got up from her place and moved towards a mirror and saw her mark. 'It perfectly matches my insect breathing and mitsuri's mark perfectly matches her love breathing. I feel so much powerful too.'

She thought and deactivated her mark and mitsuri also deactivated her mark.

They both sat in front of each other while discussing about the mark.

'Wow, i didn't even imagined shinobu would open up to a stranger like me. But i feel good and warm in my chest that she opened up to me.' He thought while looking at his injury.

'If i had this kind of injury back then, it would be guaranteed 1 week of school off.' he noticed something unusual about his injury.

'Wait, it's healed already! Aoi said it would take it 3 days to heal but it healed in 3 hours. Should i go to shinobu and discuss about training as i have already healed?' with that thought he started to ask kakushi which was near him the direction in which her room was.

While they were talking about demon slayer mark, mitsuri asked shinobu about kenji. "Ne, Shinobu chan can you tell me about this person named kenji who system calls the fated person."

Shinobu mood soured when Mitsuri showed interest in kenji but she still replied as she didn't wanted to face the consequences system talked about.

"Kenji is an interesting person --" just when she was about to talk more a knock was heard. And guess who, it was kenji who knocked.
