Love

On the evening of that day, Ndukwe heard his Mom talking on the phone with his dad. So, he gently walked close to the door, hoping he could hear something that would answer all the questions and secrets of his birth. But his Mom was just complaining to his dad about his behavior. It broke Ndukwe's heart when he heard his Mom crying. He was so sad and slowly walked back to his room. "I hate my life, everyone is sad because of me. I think I am really cursed to my family," he said.

It was dinnertime. Chioma, who is thirteen years old, prepared a very delicious meal (rice and fried plantain, Ndukwe's favorite meal), and they all gathered to eat together. After they had finished eating and were still sitting together at the dining table, his mom asked them about their day at school. Ndukwe could not talk about what he heard; instead, he said his day was good.

Chioma (happily) talked about her day and how she got good grades on her physics test.

Daniel (the youngest) also talked about his day and how it was splendid.

Ndukwe (stuttering) asked his mom about her day, and it made his mom so happy hearing him ask.

"Oh, Ndukwe!" she replied.

She (happily) talked about her day and how difficult it is to be a teacher and a mom, but she is glad to have the best children to come home to. She also told them that their dad would be coming home the next day.

Ndukwe, felt loved hearing what his mom had said about him and his siblings. He did not want to ruin the evening, asking about his birth. So, he decided to wait until his dad is back.He walked to his room having mixed feelings.

Ndukwe lay on his bed, his thoughts drifting back to the moments he had spent with Ada. The way she always greeted him with a smile, her kindness in helping him through difficult lessons, and the genuine warmth in her eyes. He couldn't help but smile as he recalled the times they had shared, their laughter echoing in his mind.

As he lay there, memories of Ada flooded his thoughts, and he realized with a jolt that he couldn't stop thinking about her. The way she made him feel so cared for and valued - it was more than just friendship. The realization struck him like a lightning bolt - he was in love with Ada.

Ndukwe's heart raced and he sat up, the weight of this newfound revelation settling in. His mind buzzed with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. The thought of Ada consumed him, and a surge of emotions coursed through him. He had never felt this way before, and the intensity of his feelings both thrilled and bewildered him.

As he grappled with this newfound realization, a sense of longing and determination took hold. He knew he had to find a way to express his feelings to Ada. The prospect of sharing his heart with her brought both excitement and nervousness, but he couldn't deny the depth of his emotions.

"Am I too young to fall in love?" he murmured to himself. But then he decided that he couldn't control his heart's desires, and allowing his heart to love might add meaning to his life; probably make him happy. So, he allowed himself to revel in the warmth of his affection for Ada.

Finally, as he turned to sleep, a smile played on his lips, and he drifted off, hoping that his dreams would be filled with thoughts of her.
