37 Sister in law

Irvyn was intending to praise Yvette, for the answer she gave to his mother. But he didn't get the chance to do so, as another female voice came from upstairs, making him halt at his words.

"What's all this ruckus at this hour?" Both Irvyn and Yvette turned their heads at once towards the voice, and seeing the person, Yvette's expression froze there. As for Irvyn, he immediately looked by his side, inspecting Yvette's face.

He had made sure that of all people, these two wouldn't be at home today. Then why…

"Oh, my Emily! Weren't you asleep just now?" Stella spoke up at once, noticing her daughter upstairs.

"And you think anyone could ever do that, while all of you are barking like some dogs?" Emily stomped her way downwards, tightening her almost see through night robe. And behind her was a man, who was very well known by Yvette, was none other than Glen himself.

Emily's eyes scanned over the people present in the living room, but stopped immediately on Yvette. "What are you doing in my house, you man snatching whor3?" Emily scooted closer to Glen, almost wrapping her arms around him, claiming her possession over him.

Yvette was struck by the sudden uncomfortable feelings, seeing Glen's face after this long time. But seeing him with her, while she was practically wrapping herself around him like a snake, looked so disgusting to her that it grossed her out. She immediately composed herself, and reverted back to being normal.

"Oh? Are we playing 'share my nicknames' here? Must be it, because that one surely suits you perfectly fine," Yvette replied to her words, once she composed herself. She just decided to flat out ignore that man beside Emily. Yvette knew that sooner or later she needed to face him more than she did when she was actually going out with Glen, but she wasn't really prepared for doing it this early.

"Yve. Why are you talking like that to Emily? We are way past that phase, right?" Glen spoke up, standing up against Yvette for his wife. He had a protective stance, covering Emily with his back as if to block every possible attack she might get.

Yvette let out a dry laugh at him. "Wow, look at him. He never did this to me ever, huh," she muttered in a low voice, which she thought only she could hear. But somehow, that caught Irvyn's ears as well.

Why are they even here anyway? Weren't they supposed to be their oh-so majestic honeymoon now? Enjoying doing filthy stuff and what not? It was so hard to keep their hands to themselves even before they got married, it was really an eyesore. Then what happened to their so anticipated honeymoon? Yvette kept thinking about this, while keeping her eyes away from Glen. She decided not to reply to him, or even look at him for once.

And as if Irvyn heard her talking in her mind, he ended up asking, "Weren't you supposed to be on your honeymoon? Why are you in this house?"

"Oh, now I can't be at my own house? Is that what you mean, my dear big brother?" Emily sneered at Irvyn, while still standing behind Glen. Her sketchy and skeptical glances while hiding herself behind another man pissed off Yvette so much, that she felt like walking away from this horrible household. Thanks to that, she was kind of getting why Irvyn chooses to live away from his own birth home.

"With all the fact that this is your house, Mrs. Emily Glen Fowler, you now equally belong to the Fowler family as well. And no matter how it hurts the female pride we all have, we are chained to the norms, which clearly depicts that you shouldn't keep staying in your maternal home for too long," Yvette responded this time, cutting in between. And before she finished her words, she gave a demeaning glance at Glen, "specifically, with your husband. That's just disrespect to his parents. And I must let you know, uncle and auntie are really strict about these norms and all."

"We don't need you to say all these, so please keep your advice to yourself." Emily fumed at her words, curling her fingers into a tight fist, resulting in her white knuckles turning bright red. "And who the hell are you to come barging into my house and start speaking nonsense, you bItch?

"Language, Emily. As you should." Irvyn roared loud, making everyone in the room flinch by the sudden rise of the deep voice he has. "I don't know whatever previous relationship or acquaintance you three have. But for a fact now, she is older in relation to you two. She is your sister-in-law from today onwards."

"Huh? Sister-in-law?" Glen sounded shocked by his words, and the confusion in his eyes was clear enough to tell that he didn't get Irvyn's words properly. "What do you mean by that, brother Irvyn?"

"You heard me clearly at the first time, Glen. Miss Yvette Juan, is now my lawfully wedded wife." Irvyn seemed proud while saying those, and the expression on his face was rather that of satisfaction, at least that's how it seemed to Yvette, when she took a glance at her husband. She didn't know he was this much content by tricking someone into a forceful marriage, but somehow, taking the advantage of that position he gave her, and speaking on Emily's face cruelly gave Yvette a long wanted satisfaction. For that reason, she thought she could forgive anything today.

"H-How can this…" Glen seemed more like shocked, judging by his expression. Yvette really thought he would be all like, showing how happy he is for her, and all those fake acts he always did after he started going out with Emily. To be honest, within a few days, Yvette was already tired of how he faked about everything they used to have, and kept on saying that one annoying thing, "We are better be friends, never had the love couples do", and disregarding her emotions blatantly. But the expression he was showing right now wasn't the one Yvette expected. Guess it was even huge for Glen as well.

"Thanks for introducing your friend to me, brother-in-law Glen," Irvyn stepped ahead, and tapped on Glen's shoulder with a smile as if he was so grateful.

And with that, Yvette couldn't help but add a bit more. "So, it would be nice if you give up on the namecalling 'Yve'. I prefer that only for my family and super close people."
