6 Friends going way back to the past

"Excuse me, you said what?" Josh turned at Irvyn, eyes almost popping out of his sockets.

"She is… mesmerizing," Irvyn said it again, but still, he wasn't quite satisfied with the word he chose to describe her. She was more than a simple word could ever describe. She was magical, mysterious, yet simple. He never knew he could ever meet a person who is constantly having this much effect on him.

"My Goodness, are you sure you are my boss, and not an imposter?" Josh was having a really hard time digesting the new side of Irvyn. He still remembers his dear friend and strict boss from his university days, when Josh would try to set him up with so many girls. Pretty girls, tough girls, petite girls, bossy girls, he didn't miss a single type. But Irvyn never even greeted them, or spared a glance. At one point, Josh thought maybe he swung the other way. So he tried to hook him up with some really awesome and good-looking guys, but all in vain. Irvyn was still unbothered by any of that, only focusing on his studies, and the favorite hobby of his, sketching designs.

So when that friend of his says out of nowhere, that a girl is mesmerizing, anyone would've fainted on spot. Moreover, it wasn't like the girl was otherworldly beautiful, like an angel. She was pretty normal, but neat looking for sure.

"If you shout out and panic this much at this place, I am sure the cool demeanor you want to protect of yourself going to slip off, Josh."

Josh immediately posed straight, composing himself, which made Irvyn sigh. He chose to not drag the conversation any longer and turned toward the manager. "Mr…" his eyes lingered on the name badge on the manager, and after getting his name, he finished his words. "Yes, Mr. Robin, go do your job. And call the singer up to our room."

With that saying, he paced up to the VIP room reserved all the time for himself, and Josh also followed suit.

------

"I never could imagine you would call up a girl to your room, when you are in a bar, sheesh," Josh leaned against the big sofa surrounding the frame of the room, a big glass table in front of them, and a shelf filled with different types of utensils and bottles. The utensils were the ones that needed to make a blend of drinks, and Josh has seen a lot of tools here he never even has seen anywhere else. Few bottles of them were labeled with something scribbled on it, and they weren't looking like drink bottles at all. But most of them were the non-alcoholic drinks, which would be replaced by fresh ones whenever Irvyn drops by.

Irvyn ignored his friend's blabbering, and walked up to the drink shelf. He skimmed his eyes through it once before picking up a bottle, and coming back to pour it into a glass for himself.

"I swear, would it hurt to have a few alcohols here?" Josh sighed, seeing the beautiful orange-ish color drink in Irvyn's hands. He won't lie, those drinks collections he has, and all the blends he has stocked up until now, was really alluring.

"Want one?" Irvyn calmly offered.

Just then, one of the servers came into the room, with a big trolly. There were quite a few types of drink bottles there, all ranging from strong ones, to light colorful fizzy ones, dated from a few months to several years back.

"I'd be honored to have one now, Sir," Josh has changed his tone quickly into a polite one, from his usual edgy tone. If anyone would drop by right now, they would have been totally convinced that these two are merely the boss and his subordinate. And that's how they are keeping their relationship or past involvements with others. For the business world, Josh Nelson was simply a guy, graduating from Westford University, the country's top educational institution for higher studies, who was scouted immediately after Irvyn Collins established his designing company. His extraordinary ability to handle all the documentation and workload was impressive, and anyone from the company can vouch for that. Another great ability of his was handling the founder and CEO of Midnight Glam. Irvyn Collins was well known for his cold temper and workaholic nature among the employees, and even the slightest error in work, his anger-filled glare followed by roars of pointing those out was enough to take away the life energy from anyone. Only Josh was known to handle this man calmly, as no one has ever seen them on each other's necks. So, every employee would rely on Josh Nelson too much for handling their super cold boss.

His managerial and secretarial skills were praiseworthy that no one ever suspected his being a secretary to the CEO since the establishment of the company. And to maintain the image they both have to the other employees, they kept the professional working relationship facade maintained in the office or in company meetings and events.

Well, that much is pretty easy for Irvyn to maintain, as he is calm and cold in general, with the strictness and devotion in his works. But as for Josh, he is always in the verge of snapping out of the cool-dude facade he needs to pull off. Thanks to a loner guy who he befriended, Josh needs to act all mature and strong demeanoured. And that feels quite a pain for someone who is cheerful in nature.

Irvyn picked up a bottle from the tray, and went to the shelf to pick up some tools and a few more small bottles. And he started making a blend for his friend.

"You know, I still feel so amazed while looking at you making drinks," Josh spoke up, while Irvyn was busy making drinks, with soft clinking noises of the tools clashing with the shot glass. "I never thought you would pick up another hobby after the sketches you used to make back-"

"That was one shitty thing I used to do, Josh. I hope you still remember how I hate hearing about that," Irvyn's hands froze, while his ice-cold glare landed on the guy.

Josh felt like someone grabbed his neck. He immediately regretted speaking up. "Yeah, I… forget it, I am sorry."
