A groan slipped past my lips as I opened my eyes. My vision began to spin and my head felt like it was struck with stones. I closed my eyes to keep the nausea away. A stinging pain ran through my muscles making me groan once more. I felt hot and gross. I wanted to shower, but my body felt heavy. I could not move.

A cool hand appeared on my forehead, whisking the heat away. I let out a content sigh and opened my eyes again.

The worried expressions directed at me made me feel guilty. “I’m okay,” I said.

“You have a fever,” Lady Rium voiced as she retracted her hand.

Miss Abigail placed a cold towel on my head and whispered, “Dr. Media had come by to check on you. Unfortunately, he said you are unable to attend classes.”

I frowned. “But the exams…”

Lady Rium sighed. “Dr. Media will inform the teachers. Sadly, missing the exams will result in a failure.”
