My back to the walls, hands in the air, and a dagger to my delicate neck. With my life in Jared’s hands, all I could do was quiver in fear.

The two knights were waiting outside the door per Jared’s order and were not to interfere no matter what they heard. I really don’t know what I did to get this kind of treatment from a person I never met before. Unless he’s just this mean and rude to people normally.

He scoffed, “Not fighting back, are you?”

Fight back? How can I fight back!? You have a freaking knife to my neck! What the hell do you think I can even do, you psychopath!?
