Chapter Nine
I was released from jail the next day.
Helen and Anthony felt sorry for me. Helen tended to my wounds and grandpa Mike gave me time to recover.
Helen told me i was lucky to be released so quick. And i should be grateful i had Sir Mike as my master. She explained that he was a very important in the royal family.
After that awful experience i decided to give up on finding Jonathan. In two days time, the crown prince would be back to take over the throne.
The whole palace was bustling and filled with activities.
Even grandpa Mike was extremely happy.
I had begged him to teach me how to use magic and he agreed.
I was grateful that he cared about him.
Grandpa Mike had informed me that he would be very busy concerning the crowned prince arrival. So i became responsible for mixing more potions and making more medicine. In the shop i worked tirelessly.
Grandpa Mike had been disturbing me for days to take a break but i had refused. After mixing medicines that were needed for the day, it was still noon, so i decided to enjoy the rest of the day.
I walked across the palace yard admiring the various decorations and costumes.
You see, the people of Cipriona had different ranking when it came to our gifts.
There were normal animals like wolves, tigers, Bears etc, but there were also special beast like dragons, phoneix, etc
Some of these special beast were very rare.
As i walked around i saw an Orchard, i walked through the orchard feeling a sense of peace
Reaching the end was a vast land filled with a lot of trees.
I breathed in deeply and smiled.
Everyone in Cipriano loved nature, it was mostly because we had spirt animals within us.
It had been a long time ever since i let my beast free.
You see, we had what we call half-transformation and full transformation .
When a person does a half transformation, we change but just some parts of our body example your eye color change, teeth become sharper, have a tail or wings, have a claw and have animal ears.
But when full transformation occurs, one transform fully into a beast.
I transformed fully into a cat and began to run.
It was fun and i kept on running feeling joyful.
As i ran i smelt something familiar and slowed down.
"Smells like Jonathan" i thought.
As i followed the scent it became stronger. I transformed back to human and walked coawr. I hid behind the bushes and peeked at him.
I could see him, he sat near a lake feeding the swans.
My heart skipped a bit and i was happy to see him.
"Jonathan! " i called his name as i walked towards the lake.
He turned towards me and waved.
I sat beside him at the lake.
I just stared at him in happiness.
"How are you?" he asked.
"I'm fine."
"Hope you're excited that the prince is coming back home today?"he asked.
"Yeah, its cool." I reply boredly.
Jonathan chuckled.
"What? " i asked him as i threw some blueberries inside the lake for the swans to eat.
"Nothing. I heard about what happened. Sorry."
"Thank you, but i am okay now."
"But why did you do all that. You don't have any business with serving food", Jonathan asks curiously.
I looked at him sadly and answered, "i was looking for you".
Jonathan was taken aback, "But why?"
"I..I wanted to see you again. Nobody has ever been good to me but you were good to me that night. I really want us to be friends, i hope you don't mind "
There was silence and i stared at the lake avoiding Jonathan's gaze.
"Hey,look at me",he said. I shyly looked up at him.
"I would like us to be friends too" he answered
I smiled in relief.
Jonathan smiled at me mischeviously. He immediately grabbed my hands and pulled me into the lake with him.
I screamed in shock and glared at him.
He was laughing so hard, i began to laugh too.
"That was not nice" i said
"I know, am sorry" he said still laughing mischeviously
"You're not sorry" i replied. "I will get revenge soon. Watch your back"
We had fun swimming in the lake. Chatting with Jonathan was fun and when we had nothing to say, tge silence waa not awkward.
We could hear the music coming from the townsquare.
"What do you think about the prince?"
I was caught off guard by the unusual question. I don't know any thing about the prince, there were only rumors surrounding him.
A lot of people were happy he was back and ready to take his place as the King.
While some people argued that he was not fit to be the king, they preferred out late king's brother Prince David to become the next king.
I could see that Jonathan was really eager to know my opinion about the Prince.
"Well, i don't know anything about the prince. The late King was a great leader so i am very confident that the Prince is going to be greater than his father, besides he's a Dragon. Nothing can compare to that."
I was expecting a reply from him but he just nodded lost in thoughts.
We were silent but it was comfortable.
As i observed Jonathan i realized i could not recognize his spirit animal. Every one had a certain aura aurrounding them which helped us identify what your spirit beast was.
"What is your spirit animal" i suddenly ask him. "I can't sense it."
"Eleanor, i am sure there are things you don't want to talk about, so can we not ask questions that would make each of us uncomfortable. Let's just enjoy each others company??"
"Okay."
"In case we ask about something we don't want to talk about, we can say moon"
"Moon, okay."
"I need to get going", he says suddenly.
"Oh... how do i see you again?"
He paused and smiled.
He chanted some words and a pure white dove appeared. He gestured for me to come closer to him and i did.
"See this bird is magic, give me your hand" he said
I did and he placed both our hands on the dove and chanted some words.
I felt a current of energy pass through me.
"What just happened? " i ask
He smiled and replied. "We are both linked to this dove now, if you want to meet, chant this words, 'zelius Misxo azrat' and this dove would come to you. Write a letter to me and tie it to her leg and it would deliver it to me."
"Wow", i exclaimed petting the dove.
"Eleanor, if you're feeling scared, lonely or even happy, you can always reach out to me with this bird."
"Thank you" i reply.
"Now say after me,zelius Misxo azrat
"zelius Misxo azrat" i reply. "Are you sure it would work?"
"Mike is teaching you magic right? You need to focus and keep practicing, It will work"
I nodded.
Just then a horse appeared and Jonathan mounted it.
"Is that a Unicorn?" I gasped in surprise.
"See you later Eleanor" he said waving and disappeared.
