Haphazard [Part-17]

Days passed by as she regularly visited the same river that Shisui would drown himself in.

'Maybe I should've memorized the dates... Well, there is nothing I can do about it now. We will just have to wait here everyday.'

Sighing, Veronica got up and took a hold of a tree branch. With Tobirama's instructions, she had been improving her physical capabilities while working on chakra control exercises. She had started to practice calligraphy for mastering fuinjutsu. She wasn't focusing much on fuinjutsu since if someone had found out she wouldn't be able to explain how she got a hold of all the information.

She was about to get back to training when she noticed the river being flooded with blood.

The scent was very familiar to her.

Her eyes widened as her instinct took over her body and she dived in the lake.

Holding her breath she pulled the curly haired Uchiha into her arms and pushed some chakra in her legs to make herself swim faster. She used Matatabi's chakra to heal him at the same time as she saw him fainting from either blood loss or from the water in his lungs.

Soon they reached the shore as Veronica made hand signs for the 'possession' jutsu.

She felt herself being forced to sit in her mind as Tobirama's soul took over her mind.

He immediately teleported, with Shisui, to a Senju hide out which was used in the war. Sighing, he decided to heal him and bandage him with the best of his abilities.

"He'll be fine."-Tobirama

Looking around the place, he was filled with nostalgia. He could still picture his clan around the place. Sighing, he receded back to her mind space while Veronica took back the control of her body. It was better to not waste any of her chakra.

She felt down as beads of sweat rolled down her face.

Wiping them off, she slowly got up and cleaned the place to make it more sanitary. She also placed a lot of bandages on the side of Shisui's head and pushed some more of her chakra into him. She knew that it was probably not a good idea to do that but seeing his condition in reality was a lot harder than seeing it on the screen.

She slowly made her way out the maze which Tobirama had called a 'simple left turn'. She saw a seal on the wall and pushed some chakra in it and saw the seal burning to the ground while she was being teleported to the same river she was by 30 minutes ago.

She slowly staggered back to the village. Matatabi also had lost a lot of her chakra so she hoped that no one would find her in this condition.

'I'll have to visit Itachi soon. He must be feeling awful.'

She safely managed to get to her new apartment.

'I miss Kakashi.'

[That's why I said that you should've pleaded with the Hokage to let you stay with him forever. And also that damn ninja couldn't be honest.]-Matatabi

~Flashback~

"Well, the Hokage found a suitable place for you to move in now Vero-chan."-Kakashi

Veronica froze a bit at that. She saw him giving her his infamous eye smile and she didn't know what to say.

So she did what she knew best. She put on her mask and gave him a 'bright' smile and nodded along with whatever he was saying.

Sighing, her face showed many emotions. She didn't know if she did the right thing.

[You do realize that someone like you will only ever be tied down by staying with a village, right?]-Matatabi

'Of course I do...'

[You also know that Tobirama himself told you to either fake your death or just go rogue on the village if you ever wanted to live your life happily and freely... Right?]-Matatabi

'Yea...'

[But you-] -Matatabi

'I... I don't wanna talk about this right now.'

Cutting off her connection with Matatabi, Veronica sighed again.

She decided that she had enough for today so she went to bed. Her eyes closed as the tiredness in her body finally caught up to her.

*Eventually...

You'll leave me.

You'll stop talking to me.

You'll hate me.

You'll get annoyed of me.

You'll get bored of me.

Just like everybody else.*
