This is a wonderful comedy and you still get the awesome might of a serious cultivation novel along with the overpowered protagonist that usually come with. I highly recommend this story to anyone that likes cultivation novels.

The review gonna be a long one. It worth it. This novel is quite short considering it is a chinese novel. However after I finished reading this, I can tell that author really did a good thing. This novel is short but well-thought and executed. This novel revolve around Ye Ping the main character who tranmigrated and lived his life as a scholar for 3 years. He was considered a young genius that could become a confucian master. However after knowing he was tranmigrated into a cultivation world, he decided to change his "career" and find a sect to join. Long story short, he was accept into a sect that was full of ordinary cultivators. However, his senior brothers and sisters all acted as supreme immortals and teached him all make-up nonsense about dao. In the end, it turned out the make-up nonsense was the core of dao and mc, a genius, comprehended it all under a year. SPOILER To clarify, some of his senior brothers were indeed ordinary in the beginning due to various reasons. However they actually have a huge background without knowing it themselves until at later chapters. As for his sect leader, he actually was a top powerhouse but then sealed his memory and become ordinary cultivator until at later chapters. A lot of readers feel the development is full of plot armor but I think author really had thought it well. If this was a long novel, i would agree. But in just 200ish chapters, everything that was happening make sense and doesn't feel abrupt at all. *important* Remember one thing tho, mc's eldest senior brother is son of destiny and naturally had massive luck in him. So dont think it just as plot armor whenever he accounter something good at later chapters.

really like this novel but the price for each chapter is absurd especially when your not even in the top 100 ranking. my vampire system is at the top and literally costs half or less than the price of these chapters

This remains me of my 'will eternal and I shall seal the heaven.' This novel has the potential to get to and even surpass them. The comedy is good and connects very well with the storyline.

This novel is truly very good and funny. I nearly died from laughing. The main character transmigrates from Earth to the immortal cultivation world, examined for not being qualified to cultivate. One day he is accepted by a run down sect which is desperate in need of a disciple to fulfill the quota to be qualified for being a third-rate sect. The Sect Master as well as the disciples are afraid of not fulfilling the quota so, they exaggerate every small thing, portraying themselves as supreme immortals and a supreme hidden sect. They teach him by adding nonsense but he always finds a way to learn and astonish them. I strongly support the writer to continue this novel. And hope that it will be on air after next week.πŸ’•πŸ’•πŸ’•

This review is up to chapter 34. Ran out of fast passes. This is the exact type of setting I like, so it's not a wonder that I like it. The only thing is that even though there is potential, I can see it easily becoming repetitive/annoying due to excessive misunderstanding. That being said, so far the main character's personality doesn't seem to be too bad (aside from how he reacts to girls... I prefer a more cool type MC personally, but it's not a deal breaker). The other thing is that I hope to see his senior brothers and sisters improve. It would be great if what he said granted them epiphanies as well, instead of them just thinking it "sounds cool" or whatnot. So all in all, it was a fun read so far, promising setting, has good potential, and hopefully will remain that way. I have no intentions of reading the other trial read novels in this batch due to lack of interest, so this is the only one I'll be reviewing. As always, I hope the editors will select. I like that it's cultivation but not too cliche and has a unique twist, subverting tropes. That is my favorite type of cultivation novel.

Really good novel despite the author’s habit of repetition. It’s one of the novels that doesn’t go on pointlessly, although it had the potential to go on for many more chapters. Translation is pretty much flawless, one of the best translated novels on this site. Character development is also quite good, though in later chapters Ye Ping was overshadowed by Su Changyu.

With some heavy editing, this could be a standout "Misunderstanding" novel. It's at times very funny, and the base genre of misunderstandings runs DEEP in this story. But the main character becomes almost an extra in their own story by the end. MANY promising plot-points/side-characters/details are introduced only to later vanish unceremoniously, never to be properly concluded. There are also pacing problems. One of the tournaments absolutely _drags_, and the story's conclusion is of course very rushed (as is tradition). There's nothing remotely close to an epilogue or clear pay-off. It just stops. As has been pointed out, the translation is full of errors as well. It's understandable, and you get the gist, but try not to pay attention to the details because often they are lies. Genders, numbers, who is speaking, all the little things go wrong all the time. But the story is short enough that if you can endure the pacing problems and mistakes, and not mind the little details, it's enjoyable _enough_. It just could have been so much better with ~a little~ a lot of editing.

Really loved this book. It was fun ride.. Except for the rushed climax, which gives me sort of incomplete feeling, rest was cool. There's no complex scenarios, but what it has does follow the story setup. Good workβ™₯οΈπŸ‘

It had such good potential and then the author seemed to have lost control of the plot and decided to forget who the main character was. I tried to ignore so many plot holes but there is a limit. I enjoyed reading it in the beginning but later it just kept getting on my nerves. If the author ever decided to redraft the story and do some major damage control I'm always up to give it a second chance because the premise is good it was just the execution that fell through.

Contrary to the other reviewer(s) who are upset that the members of the sect are true powerhouses, I actually really like this twist. If they weren't powerhouses and just continuously accidentally taught the Dao to the MC, it would actually get pretty repetitive and boring (no one likes overly OP MCs and plot armor), but the hidden identities of all the senior sisters and brothers give a sense of anticipation. The spirit of the novel isn't corrupted either - its still lighthearted and comedic, but the twist adds more of a sense of realism. And with the addition of backstories for the other characters, the novel doesn't become just the MC showing off and slapping faces over and over (personally Su Changyu is my favorite) Would highly recommend - currently one of my favorite novels along with Versatile Mage

This book is hilarious. If anyone has ever played warhammer, they will understand when I say the MC is like the Orcs. He believes it so it happens. To explain, Orcs in warhammer are a profoundly stupid, low intelligence race. However they are space faring and powerful. This is because they are powerful psychics, but are completely unaware of that. As a race, they believe their spaceships can traverse space, thet believe this so completely that their psychic energy reacts to make it so, so the spaceship can travel through space. Even though its like tin cans and metal scrap tied together with string. The MC is highly similar to this. Coming from "our earth" background and with no baseline knowledge of Immortal cultivation, the common sense that a native to the world would have adopted as thet grew up, he believes what his sect seniors tell him. That plus whatever plot armor he has mean when he is told "this works" he doesn't question it, believes it works and finds a way to make it work. Just like the Orcs. He has such a "this must be how this world works" belief, that the world reacts that way. Plot armour at its most hilarious.
