5 MONEY MAKING SYSTEM

"What was that?"

Terrence's forehead tied into a knot. He was left in a state of confusion.

The only thing he knew about anything like this was that it looked the same as the system books he had read when he was bored working in the past.

'Is this some kind of prank?' he added to the question in his mind.

[No, Host. You are chosen by a random lottery.]

Terrence felt a sudden urge for happiness. 'Did I just acquire a system? And what's more? It's a Money Making System!'

Right now, he could jump in joy.

However, he quickly realized what the last line meant.

"I have a System, but I don't have any skills?"

[That's right, Host. Your luck ran out when you were chosen to be the host of this System.]

'What do you mean? I have no luck now?"

[That's right, Host.]

What kind of joke was that?

Terrence didn't know that it was possible. From all the books he had read, most systems would usually come with SSS-ranked skills that would help the main character achieve his goal.

However, in his case, he doesn't even have any.

Now that he thought of it, what should be his goal?

Should he take revenge on the government for the betrayal?

Should he take revenge on William for being the reason for his death?

Should he just move on and live?

Or should he use this as a chance to atone for all the sins he had committed before he died?

'Fuck, I can't even decide what I want to do with my life now.' Terrence became problematic as he thought of it more. The future seems blurry in his mind.

What added to the problem in his mind was the fact that he came back two years in time.

That meant the HNT virus was still not discovered. There was still a year left before all of that.

Maybe he could still change what his future would look like.

"That means my family is still safe…" Terrence became determined.

First, he needs to ensure he and his family will be safe. He won't make the same mistake twice.

He already learned his lesson. Getting betrayed by William, the person whom he trusted the most next to his family, was an eye-opening event for him.

It made him realize he shouldn't trust anyone except his family.

"And that asshole of a government!"

Now that he pondered about it more, the government officials were just a bunch of dirty rats.

Terrence can't believe he had been a loyal follower of that shitty government! He used to be mad at those people criticizing the government.

To think that he was blinded for a very long time made him want to vomit.

Now that he was in this position in life, he just realized that the world in the future would only belong to the rich.

Peasants like them would cease to exist.

They will just be used as a sacrifice so that the rich can live longer.

Terrence chuckled. He suddenly had the urge to change all of that.

Everything was uncertain, but one thing was for sure. He will use this system to his advantage and live better.

He wanted to experience all the things he hadn't.

'Well, I should just focus on the present, right now.' Terrence shrugged his shoulders.

He was already thinking about it too much.

Well, that was already given as he was an overthinker.

He glanced over at his side to see if Abigail was truly asleep. He couldn't afford to get caught. Abigail might really think that he has become crazy.

Terrence got curious about the Money Making System he currently has. He wanted to know more about it first before deciding what to do with it.

"System Interface...?" Terrence uttered unsurely.

[Ding! System Interface loading…]

[Speed: 0]

[Luck: 0]

[Money: 0]

[Lottery Tickets: 0]

[Missions: Locked until Level 2]

[Shop: Locked until Level 5]

=====

'Strength, Speed, and Luck? What are those?'

[That is your attributes, Host. Every time you level up, 1 point will be added to all of them. You can gain more points for a specific attribute as you unlock the [Mission] tab]

Terrence nodded. He quickly understood what the System meant.

"Mission and Shop?" Terrence got excited to see what those two would look like. It was unfortunate that they were still locked.

He hoped that the missions he would get would be exciting and fun.

Since Terrence still doesn't have any idea how the system functions, he wanted to know more about it.

"System Function."

[No Information available.]

[Ding!]

[Special Mission: Find information about the system.]

Terrence almost cursed at the System. He was expecting an answer, and that was what he got.

'This system is a bitch', he thought as he stared at the white screen unbelievably.

With no information available, how will he even know what he needs to do to gain experience and level up?

[Error! This system has no gender.]

Terrence almost face-palmed. He decided to just get over with it before having a headache. He will just figure out the way later.

Since it was a Money Making System, he was sure that everything that he should do would be related to money.

"But wouldn't this system be classified as useless if I can't even gain any skills?" Terrence thought that everything was strange.

How about the super strength that can destroy anything? A fire skill that could burn the whole town? Or a water skill where he can make thousands of tsunamis.

[This system is not useless as you are, Host.]

"You bitch!"

[Error! Again, this system has no gender.]

Terrence's patience was truly getting tested. He couldn't believe that he just got roasted by a mere robotic voice!

"Can you be quiet?"

[...]

"Hello?"

[...]

'Fuck this life.'

Terrence took a deep breath. "Well, if it gives me money, then I think it's still not completely useless." He scratched the back of his head.

After all, getting money without doing any work was rare nowadays.

After checking everything in the system's interface, Terrence thought about his request earlier.

"You can stop being quiet now."

[Request completed]

Terrence sighed in relief. At least he knew now that the system would follow whatever he would say.

"I have a question. Even if the screen is closed, can I still ask you some questions?"

[Yes, Host.]

Terrence nodded and though, 'That is much easier.'

Terrence double-checked everything first before he decided to close the screen in front of him.

He just found out that he didn't really need to say the words verbally or in a whispering manner, which he has been doing since earlier.

He just needed to think about it, and the screen would instantly appear right before his eyes.

When Terrence looked at the time, he noticed that it hadn't been 30 minutes yet since he woke up.

Thinking that it was still too early, Terrence decided to just continue with his sleep. He hoped that when he woke up, everything was still here.
