The Piano

When Ava and Mr. Lu were busy talking about the old times, Liam didn't stay there he walked around the shop and looked at all the pianos that were available in there. He suddenly stopped in front of a tripod piano and stared at it for a long time. Without thinking he suddenly sat down on the piano bench and removed its cover. It was a beautiful Piano. Liam didn't know how to play but he still put his fingers on the piano keys and pressed them with his slender finger, immediately the Piano made some noise.

Ava heard the noise and went over to see. She saw Liam was sitting on a Piano bench trying to play. A soft smile showed up on her face as she stood behind and asked, "Does Master Jones wants to learn piano now?"

Liam turned and seeing the beautiful smile on Ava's face he stared at her fascinated for a few seconds. "No, I was just looking at this beautiful piano and thought it suits you."

Ava looked at the Piano, it was a Steingraeber & Söhne piano. It's one of the top brands on the market right now. Ava hesitated for a while then sat down on the bench. She took a deep breath and put her finger on the piano key. A chord of canon immediately came into her mind and she started to play. The whole tune was lyrical, without any carton. It was beautiful!

"Ava, didn't you just said you haven't played in years?" Mr. Lu looked at Ava in surprise.

"Yes, I haven't, in the last 5 years."

"But it doesn't seem like you are out of practice at all. You still have the same efficiency as before. I always knew playing the piano is in your blood, you can never forget it." Mr. Lu said with a joyful smile.

"Thank you, Mr. Lu," Ava said with a smile.

"Ava, you should participate in the "midsummer night's dream" again. With your strength, you can definitely make it to the final." Mr. Lu said excitedly.

Ava fell silent for a while, then she nodded her head solemnly and said, "I was thinking of participating too."

Liam was standing behind Ava, he saw the way Ava was playing he was even more fascinated by her. He quickly took out a bank card from his wallet and said to Mr. Lu, "We would like to take this piano. This is my card just swipe it."

Ava stared at Liam dumbfounded, "Liam what are you doing? I didn't say I want to buy this piano." For god's sake, it costs 200 grand, here people can buy a small apartment with that amount of money.

"What's wrong? It's good and I am paying for it." Liam already saw through Ava's mind so he took the chance to pay for the Piano. He would love it if Ava practiced in the Piano that he bought for her.

"I know it's good but I just want one to practice, I don't need such an expensive one!" Ava stood up, pulled Liam to the corner, and whispered.

"Come on, your Brother-in-law is paying so you might just buy the best one" Liam winked and said with a playful smile. He quickly handed his card to Mr. Lu before Ava could stop him.

Ava couldn't stop Liam from buying the piano, but she was not comfortable at all for him to buy such an expensive Piano for her. When they got into the car, Ava looked at Liam and said in a very serious tone, "I'll pay you back."

"No, it's your wedding present," Liam said stubbornly, he didn't care about money. It made him really happy that he could buy her the Piano.

"You've already given me my wedding presents. I can't accept this one." Ava also said stubbornly. Yes, Liam was her brother-in-law but she was not close to him so how could she let him pay for such expensive piano, she must pay him back.

"Why not? If you have any problem accepting it then this is a gift for the baby in your stomach from his uncle." Liam subtly refused to take the money back.

Ava knew there was no point arguing with him so she didn't say anything else, but she made up her mind to pay him back for the Piano.

Liam took Ava back to the villa, followed by a big truck. Four strong men got off the truck and carried the tripod piano into the villa.

Ava led the way, pointed to a place in the living room, and said, "just put it in there."

It was already lunchtime and as usual Mrs. Lee prepared a lot of food. Ava thought Liam helped her so much she should at least ask him to stay for lunch to be polite.

"Stay for lunch."

Liam was very happy that Ava asked him to stay so he happily sat down and said, "OK, thank you. I' won't be polite then."

Ava rolled her eyes and sat down at the dining table and they quietly had their lunch.
