The Handsome Doctor

The next day, Ava wanted to go to the hospital to share the good news and give happy candy to her colleagues and friends. Oliver, like a good husband, accompanied his wife to the hospital.

They walked into the cardiology department hand in hand, attracting everyone's attention.

"Ava, you are finally back. I missed you so much." Mia, who was working on her station saw Ava in front of her she shouted out in excitement.

"I missed too, Mia." Ava hugged Mia and smiled happily.

"Ava, do you know a very handsome doctor has joined our cardiology department. He is really super handsome and very kind, he is now our new director. I heard that he just came back from Oxford University after his Ph.D. In fact, he is not from this city but the hospital hired him at a high salary just because he is the best." Mia was full of gossip seeing Ava after so long.

"Really? What's his name?" Ava asked wondering if she knew him since he was from Oxford. Maybe she should go to the office and check who was this new doctor!

"Oh, look Director Wen is here," Mia said as she noticed the new doctor Paul Wen walking out of his office in his white coat. He was absolutely handsome and the other nurses along with Mia couldn't take their eyes off him.

Ava turned to see and was stunned when saw the handsome face with distinct facial features but that was not the noticeable thing about him. It was his eyes. His deep blue eyes looked like two sapphires holding a sea of stars. Ava will never forget those eyes, she has seen them many times before.

Paul Wen was Ava's senior at Oxford University. He was indeed a very talented doctor and was one of the famous figures in Oxford who was brilliant and held two degrees. His unique mind and way of treating patients were very well-known and different from others. Not only that, he was very dedicated and sincere toward his profession and as a person, he was responsible and very kind. No wonder all the female doctors and nurses were talking about him.

Ava was staring at Paul for a bit longer, which made the man behind her very uncomfortable in the heart. Oliver coughed twice to grab Ava's attention. How could his wife stare at another handsome man in front of him? Was he not handsome enough for her?

"Director Wen!" Ava blinked as she got back to her senses and walked toward Paul with a smile.

"Director Green. It's good to see here." Paul said with a faint smile. He instantly recognized Ava from Oxford. He remembered meeting her a few times during some research project at Oxford. She was very talented, in fact when he joined the Beijing Tiantian Hospital the Dean mentioned her a few times but at that time he didn't know it was the same Ava Green.

Ava shook hands with Paul and happily talked for a while, then gave him the candy she brought with her. Paul also politely blessed her for a happy marriage and went back to work.

"Girl, you came back." Sister Susan saw a bunch of people was gathering around in the lobby she came closer and saw Ava, she called out excitedly.

Ava turned and looked at Susan with a bright smile, "Sister Susan!"

Sister Susan saw the candy in Ava's hand and then looked at the man beside her she immediately understood Ava was here to share some good news.

"Sister Susan, I am getting married this Friday. I would like to invite you to the wedding, you will have to come."

Sister Susan excitedly took the red invitation card and replied with a smile: "Of course I will come."

"Thank you. I have to go now, I need to give out some other invitations. I'll see you later." Ava said with a kind smile.

"Ok. But come and visit us whenever you have time. Don't be strangers."

"Yes, Director Green, we will be waiting for you to come back."

Oliver led Ava out of the cardiology department toward the elevator. He didn't say a single word until they were inside the elevator. As soon as the door closed Oliver pushed Ava toward the elevator wall and kissed her fiercely. He kissed and nibbled on her soft lips until they both were out of breath.

"Oliver!" Ava cried out.

Only then, Oliver let go of her. He looked at her with his gloomy eyes then said in a tone full of jealousy, "How could you stare at another man in front of me like that?"

"What are you talking about? Do you mean Director Wen? Oh, I knew him from Oxford. I wasn't staring at him, I was just a bit surprised to see him here. He was my senior at the University, he is very talented and we attended a few research projects together but we never had any close relationship, just acquaintance." Ava said admiringly.

"And you want to see him again?" Oliver's face sank as he asked unhappily.

"What! No, why would I want to meet him again? In this whole world, I am only interested in you dear husband." Ava said in a coquettish tone as she stood on her tiptoe and kissed Oliver softly on his lips.

Oliver sighed and kissed her back. He knew she was trying to sweet-talk him but he was still happy and his mood got better by Ava's sweet words.
